Hotel was fine, room was clean however there was no hot water. I know in older buildings at peak times you can expect a shortage in hot water but when you get up before 6am and cant get hot water and have a shower it really puts you in a bad mood for the day. That's the reason for 3 stars.

I'm sorry for the shortfalls you encountered with the hot water. There should always be hot water for our guests. There is always a duty manager available to speak to so that they can try and rectify these issues prior to your departure. I do hope that you will stay with us again should you be in the area

Stayed here for an overnight on a bus trip. Wasn’t expecting much as it wasn’t an expensive trip but hotel was fantastic. Rooms comfortable with large bed. Electric heating to suit yourself. Dinner was lovely and breakfast was great too. Good quality food. There was even a great singer on at night in the bar so we had entertainment thrown in too. Staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. All in all couldn’t ask for more. Highly recommend this hotel.

Arrived on a Winter Mystery Trip with Gardiners Coach Holidays. The welcome from the staff was first class - luggage was taken to each room while we were given a welcome hot drink and a slice of Welsh cake. My room - 106 - is a bit dated but absolutely clean and tidy. Bedding fresh and crisp and bathroom spotless. Food and service in restaurant is first class - breakfast continental or full English with other choices available - I had smoked salmon on scrambled eggs with was delicious and tonight roasted vegetable tarts which again delicious. The serving staff are very attentive and ensure your requests are fulfilled - I didn't notify them of lactose intolerance, my fault, but they are so good and go that extra mile to accommodate your needs.

After a 1st disappointed visit we gave the hotel another try and we were very much impressed with the room and its location, staff professionalism and overall experience from this visit. Reception very welcoming and informative. We booked a larger room and it's location was ideal for my wife who has mobilility issues. The room was spacious and very clean and was made up on a daily basis. Breakfast was basic selection of fried option and continental which in our opinion could have been better (cold meat/cheese, cubed melon rather than full slice). Thank you to Julie for all her help at breakfast, 5 ⭐'s Ample parking. Only minor issues which we overcome - no plug sockets at the head of the bed, nearest was at the foot. The loo roll was located behind you and not at the side so you had to twist round, we just removed the roll. Yes, we would visit again and hopefully book the same room.

This place blew me over as it was close to English/Welsh border. Customer service was exceptional, Orchard restaurant - fantastic menu, reasonably priced and as it's off the A5 & A55, you can get onto main route within close distance.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the hotel. I run a coach tour business and arrived at the hotel on 2 coaches and 70 passengers and we had the most brilliant experience. From the moment we checked in the staff were so welcoming and helpful and couldn't do enough with all of the various needs / requirements of our party. Rooms were lovely very clean and tidy. Food was amazing - plenty of choice and the service was outstanding. Breakfast was very well organised and very good every day. We would like to thank Annie and the staff on that weekend for making our stay part of the great experience of the tour.

We had a voucher for night stay with dinner and breakfast, it was lovely peace n quiet without kids. From the check in to check out we had no problems, the food was the best I've had in a long time..steak was perfect. Staff were polite and hospitable from reception to housekeeping, waitress and dining staff. Only down fall if which I passed onto reception was the creaking bed. Had great stay . Thanks

Not only was the mattress uncomfortable there was a spring sticking up. Check out is at 11am and at 10:55 I had house keepers walk-in my room ignoring the do not disturb on the door. After I shouted me and my partner are naked the house keeper proceeded to. Walk in until she seen me naked. I wouldn’t of minded but it was 5 to 11 not even past check out time. When complained to manager at the desk she laughed and said we where lying she demanded she was on the corridor at the time of the incident and called us liers. on the way out the reception the what I thought was the manager shouted good riddance at us on the way out. Room service was expensive we had to pay a tray charge for the food it was a pizza that was cold hard and was not very appetising. When I complained about it they proceeded to give me the bill for the food we did not approve for. There was constant banging all through the night constantly hearing flowing water. For £85 a night is totally out of order. We opend the window to let some air in as the room was mucky once we opend the window we couldn’t get it closed again as the frames where all warped. Would of rather stayed in a bunk hostel. I will not be coming here again.

Many thanks for your review, I have conducted an investigation in to this. I thank you for leaving a distinct aroma in one of our newly refurbished room which took a couple of days to get rid of. I also thank you for verbally abusing our staff which left them shaken for the rest of the day. I think by mutual decision that it is best that you do not stay again

Stayed at this hotel 6 years ago for our mini-moon and enjoyed it, so decided to stay again for our 6th anniversary. We had a Groupon 2 night deal, but we decided to upgrade to a suite with a jacuzzi bath which is what we had last time. We had the same room which was nice. On arrival the hotel had placed a gesture of a chocolate brownie and strawberries to wish is a happy anniversary, nice touch. Check in was smooth and easy. We were familiar with the hotel and was nice to see the bar has had a refurbishment, much more modern and inviting. Our room was lovely, but definitely in need of new furniture, sofas etc, the bed was comfortable though. We had a 2 course dinner on our first night, my husband loved the rump steak which came at an extra supplement as expected, however my chicken fajitas was disappointing, very much frozen chicken strips. The southern fried chicken strips for starters were delicious and recommend the peri peri fries too. We had to make one complaint during our meal which was the waitress had came and removed my husbands cutlery and plate whilst I was still eating, which was awkward for us both. When we informed another member of staff they were very apologetic and offered us free puddings but we were full so declined the offer. Breakfast on both mornings was ok, hot choice and your usual cold selection etc, all ok. We served ourselves the first morning but the second morning a lady served up the hot food, maybe because it was a lot busier and they wanted to control the portions. Most staff we're excellent, the curly haired lady on reception was pleasant and helpful and the foreign lady in the bar was most helpful and went out her way to make us feel great. Some staff we're quite loud and abrupt when ordering other staff to do certain duties or tasks which could of been dealt with, without guests present. We decided to eat again at the hotel the second night and my pizza was amazing and again my husbands steak was cooked to perfection. Local village of Mold is nice for a wonder and to go to the local outdoor market on a Saturday. Lots of little cafés/ small boutique type shops etc. Only 5 minute drive. Will stay again in a few years time, as it brings back memories for our anniversary etc. Jacuzzi suite is definitely worth the upgrade to have extra space and the luxury of a jacuzzi bath to enjoy and relax. Shame room 118 doesn't have any view from the windows, just looks onto the hotel. Might enquire about their other suite rooms next time. Only issue was settling our final bill, had to wait for a member of staff who could deal with the system as our dinner on the second night was included even though we paid cash upfront for that and also other items that we had not had we're on the bill. All was sorted on the end before we left.

I stayed at this hotel with a coach party and my room was dreadful. Dirty, coat hanger, stones on floor. Flaking paint. naturally, I spoke to Manager & coach rep about this. Nothing was done. Food was monotonous, roast every night during heatwave. Service unfriendly. I made a formal complaint on my return & was told they could have given me another room if I had asked!!!! Admitted room/service fell below normal standards.
