My husband and I visited today for Sunday lunch with a view to booking for a large number of people to celebrate our golden wedding later in the year. We have been to NHCHH many times over the years for lunches and celebrations and really wanted the hotel to work its charms on us...sadly it didn't. We arrived for 1pm...

Friendly reception and help with luggage (Room was on the first floor.) Plenty of parking. Nice bar to relax in. Good restaurant with a varied menu and wine list, all at a reasonable price. Rooms rather dated and bathroom VERY small but slept well. EXCELLENT breakfast cooked to order. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed one night at the hotel in May as we were going to a concert nearby. The hotel looks lovely from outside with lovely grounds and ample free parking. The receptionist was really friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable with everything we needed including tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. The bathroom had a bath and...

There was 16 people in our party who required dinner, bed and breakfast. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and made us very welcome. The value for money is excellent and the dinner was served promptly and to a high standard. Definitely a good location to explore the Welsh countryside, for groups or couples.

The hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly. The rooms were older but comfortable. A few squeaky floors but nothing bothersome. The hotel does not have a lift so be prepared to carry your bags up the staircase. We had a premier room with king bed, small sitting area, bathroom, clothes cabinet and desk with tea pot/cups. TV in the...

Stayed with extended family for a special occasion. The hotel is a good base to drive to nearby parks/sights/countryside/coast/Chester etc. The rooms are old and tired - some of us stayed at the backmost rooms which was probably an old extension (poor fitting windows and a few ants in the room). Almost felt like a 90's travelodge. The rooms in...

Dear SquashedNomad, Thank you for the review following your recent visit, I was sorry to see some of the comments, which I will be looking into - especially dinner and breakfast service, which should not be of a poor standard due to a wedding taking place, although you found the food served was 'good quality'. Your comments about the bedroom...

Dear Sammy B, Thank you for your review and photo following your visit over the Easter weekend - I was sorry to see that maintenance required had not been carried out prior to your arrival. I am aware of the chip in the bath which we believe happened recently when the shower head was dropped in the bath - very...

Lovely grounds, nice looking lounges and super-friendly, swift check-in sadly doesn't make up for the horribly tired rooms. 109's bed was sunken and the bedspread should have been put out of its misery long before. Staff didn't hesitate to move us after we complained about several stains on the reverse, but we found the same issue in our new room...

Well what is there to say! without a doubt the most consistent and best function venue for many a mile – a country house Hotel this place makes you feel at home!
