First visited The Royal Ship on rugby tour over forty years ago and look forward to/make a point of returning as often as possible. So comfortable, so welcoming, such good value for morning, excellent food and Robinsons Beer to boot! Can life get any better?? Thank you so much to the staff for making me so welcome and looking forward...

My husband & I stopped here for a night whilst driving from South Wales to north Wales. The hotel is lovely, very stylish and modern whilst still retaining the period features of the old building. Our room was very comfortable and rather large too! Lots of storage and a large bathroom. Very quiet and peaceful. Loved that we got given...

We stayed in a nice room which was also suitable for disabled persons. Beds were very comfy. The food was ok, but nothing sophisticated. Nothing to complain about, though. The service could have been a little bit mor friendly.

Initially we had planned to go to another nearby establishment for food based on a recommendation. However we were so impressed by the food being served to other customers nearby, we decided to change our plans. We sat in a really cozy area near the bar - we really appreciated being tucked away comfortably, but within earshot of the bar....

Went here at the start of the week and unfortunately it has definitely gone downhill! The menu was not what it was last year and the food was bland and boring! Seems to be staffed by lots of kids with no product knowledge it's a real let down!

I stayed here for 2 weeks for a work trip and I cannot praise this hotel enough. It was a home away from home. The group I was with swelled throughout my stay from 2 to 18 and the service was consistently great from all staff. I cannot praise this hotel enough; the staff were very friendly, helpful and went...

The best hotel I stayed in on my vacation! Location was perfect and John and his staff were top notch. Food was tasty, beer was good, and room was comfortable and clean. Would definitely stay here again and will be back.

Having been here before with our dogs, we knew it was dog friendly. We popped in for a late lunch on bank holiday Monday following a walk locally, and managed to get a good corner seat (so the dogs could lie down out of the way). The OH had the fish and chips which he enjoyed, and I had the...

Pay and I decided to explore Mid & North Wales, and especially Snowdonia National Park, so a stay in Dolgellau was ideal and we chose The Royal Ship Hotel. At first we arrived early and so had a meal and the staff not knowing we were residents-to-be were very welcoming and friendly. The meal was very good, the bar/restaurant very...

We have stayed here a few times, and its a good place as a walking stopover, but room 107 has a curtain that doesnt fit, so it finishes around 9 inches above the window sill, and lets the street lights in. Of course you don't realise this until you go to bed, and its too late to change rooms. The...
