Ignore the date of Sept 2015. We last stopped mid 2015 for a quick pint on the way back from Tonfanau, as we have done for the past 10 years. Always a good pint, lovely old building. Was saddened to see it had closed, but had noticed declining visitors over the years (got easier and easier to park the van)....

Called into this pub at lunch time after walking in the hills and ordered soup. The soup was served with a very small white roll and the amount of soup was also minute. They suffer from portion control in the wrong direction, will not be calling again.

Very strange, we ceased trading mid September, so this is a false review, unless they were srved by the ghosts

We visited this place for an evening meal, and I wish we'd read the reviews before we went. The hotel was dismal in appearance, and the man behind the bar could have done with some customer skills. The beer was at least £1 dearer than any other pub we visited this holiday (over £4 a pint!). That said, the meal...

Sorry no true we were closed and ceased trading at this time. Must be a false review. So much for Trip advisors verification

The rudest man I've ever met owns this place. Got berated for requesting a receipt and wanting to pay my bar bill for checking out in the morning! I always say: if a place is dirty in the places you can see, imagine what it's like where you can't see!! Seriously, avoid staying here at all costs.

It is what it is a very old Building with lots of history. As the walls are so thick the rooms can feel slightly chilly in the evenings , the decor is dated but in such a small family run business i`m sure it`s difficult to keep up with the Jones`s . It is friendly with good breakfast choices and...

Weirdest place I've been to in a long time. I'll quote my conversation with the bar man (owner?) "Have you got Fruitshoots for the children?" "I don't do fruitshoots!" "Blackcurrent squash then?" (He pours the drinks) "A sparkling mineral water..." "I don't do sparkling!" "Lime and soda then..." "I don't do soda!" "Erm, coke then?" "I don't do coke!" ...ad...

Isn't it marvelous how some people can remember a conversation word for word and then cant remember that they complimented the staff and that they weren't served by me. purely spurious comments

We stopped here for 1 night in July. We had read the reviews and was unsure what to expect. Well it ain't as bad as people have made out. The owner and the staff were pleasant and friendly. The food is very good. The rooms are a little small but they are for sleeping in and this is done well...

Nice hotel, staff and manager. We had an evening meal in the bar area so we could enjoy the open fire. It was a lovely atmosphere and the food was very good and cooked to order. The breakfast was also cooked to order, with tasty sausage and nice bacon. My egg was perfectly cooked. The bedrooms were comfortable and clean....

The bar here is quite traditional with an open fire which is very welcome in winter (and sometimes in the summer here too). The beer is reasonably priced and the bar meals are well prepared. The range is the standard pub meals but nicely presented.

We should have been suspicious when we booked this over the internet and we were asked for 50% payment at the time of booking. When we arrived [to stay for two nights] the remainder of the money was demanded before we were shown to our room. It is a misnomer to call this a hotel - it is a public...

moan! moan! why would I want someone like you staying? If you had a problem speak direct not behind the anonymity of the medium also if you had read the description you may not have stayed, plenty of others did and enjoyed. The reason for upfront payments (have you never been abroad or stayed at Butlins) is because of non...
