We stayed in the Kings Head whilst visiting family in Monmouth. The hotel is centrally location with good overnight parking within 100 yards of hotel. Checking-in was easy and swift with a friendly smile. I'll start with saying this hotel is a "grade 2" listed building. We stayed in the family room situated right above the main entrance of the...

We booked our overnight stay online and arrived to find there was no dedicated parking. As we arrived early evening we were directed to a car park not to far away which was free until 9am the following morning. The room was quite hard to find but we eventually found it and was surprised to find it was huge! The...

Miserable evening receptionist. Scaffolding and screening over the windows meant any view was obscured. Sloping bathroom floor had dodgy repair by shower. Shower too low. Finding room was difficult, and no lift to floor 3. Breakfast was great, staff cheerful and helpful. Room, bed was comfortable.

Recently returned from a three day golfing trip in Wales with 16 lads, so to save money we stayed at the kings head in Monmouth. First of all don't forget this is a wetherspoons establishment so if you're expecting all the bells and whistles don't stay here. Yes the clientele can be undesirable, yes the food is not top class...

The hotel is in a good position in the centre of town but has no dedicated parking. The old building is a bit convoluted so some rooms a bit difficult to find - but quite reasonable once found. Very clean but pretty soulless. Had to wedge the window open as it would not stay open of its own accord. Plenty...

This hotel is very good value - reasonable price, clean and functional room and great location in the town. Stayed for a evenin meal and drinks and has the added benefit of being joined to the weatherspoons so a very short walk back to the room! Negative is that there is no attached car park - but this is in...

Stayed fro a Friday night in a group of six - three twin rooms. Very pleasant check in experience. Our room was at the top of the hotel, to the rear. The room was spacious, beds comfortable and no external noise. Good water pressure in the shower. At £59.00 (the price was the same via Bookings.com and booking direct) and...

Lovey building and decor. Only three rooms left on arrival. Wanted double room for myself. Only single left. Room was very clean but very small with a single bed. No sleep at all. Mattress was very uncomfortable , after working all day in Birmingham then travelling to Monmouth, food and sleep were on the agenda. Food was great , nice...

Rooms were very spacious with all facilities you would expect. Clean and tidy and very food value. You are right in the centre of Monmouth so can be a little noisy especially as it's a Wetherspoons hotel. Food in the pub section is typical good value Wetherspoons with a wide selection. Great for business trips.

We stayed on the weekend, excellent service and great rooms, very clean and tidy! We would definitely stay at the Kings head again and recommend to family and friends. Weather spoons was very handy and reasonably priced so also enjoyed a lovely breakfast too. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable
