It's a year since we stayed at Sir John Trevor House, and Jackie welcomed us back like family! The house has incredible character, and is perfect for a stay in Ruthin as it is in the town centre, yet remains quiet. This time I slept in the bedroom at the front which has a four poster, which I loved. Breakfasts,... More

It's hard to fault this little gem of a place for a lovely peaceful break. I took my husband here for a surprise birthday treat on a friend's recommendation and we were delighted with the whole trip. It is set in a lovely quaint Welsh town with lots of interesting shops and places to visit and excellent, reasonably priced places... More

A lovely review, thanks, and your many compliments are appreciated, keeping a home as a B&B up to scratch is hard work and I am so glad you enjoyed it and that you want to return and we will endeavor not to let our standards drop so other travellers can enjoy their visit as much as you did. More

We visited Ruthin for a wedding in mid-May and were very glad we had chosen the Sir John Trevor. Our bedroom was at the front of the house and had loads of character - four poster bed, great view up the high street and names carved in the old oak beams by the boys who boarded here hundreds of years... I am very glad you chose Sir John Trevor bedroom too, it was our bedroom before I decided to use it for my guests so it is still very special to me as we have been in the house for 30 years and I found it very useful to have a seperate dressing room and amenities in one place. Not... More

Jackie went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and was very helpful in getting us oriented in town. Tasty and satisfying breakfasts were enjoyed in the grand dining room.

Thank you for your kind words, I appreciate it is difficult to choose a room from a website so I am pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and found your way around Ruthin and we would love to see you again if you visit the UK again in the future. More

We stayed here over the Bank Holiday with a walking group. Fortunately.we had a back room but one of our group had the front room and was unable to sleep due to the noise from the nearby pubs on each of the three nights. Her room also had the quirk of its bathroom, including loo, being in the middle of the... Thank you for your review of our home/B&B. The noise at the front of the house has now been dealt with. Many travelers like the convenience of being in the centre of town near all the facilities., without having to drive. Sir John's dressing room is not a 'sitting room' even though there is a chair in there, the photo shows... More

This is not a place that will suit all travellers. If you like a modern, antiseptic clinical bedroom, this is not for you. If you revel in the different, the eclectic, shabby chic, and don't mind the odd cobweb, then I think you would like this place. We escaped here for two nights. The reason for the poor marks regarding... More

Lovely couple. We were made to feel very welcome. There was never any rush to eat breakfast. And the cat was very friendly too, especially if you feed him a little bacon fat! My wife and I recently stayed here and were made to feel very welcome by Jackie and Stuart. We were given a tour of all the guest rooms (as we were the only visitors that day) which were beautifully decorated and, like the rest of the house, full of character and spacious.
