It had been a few years since we visited but decided to go for Sunday lunch as it liked good value at £7 a main and £3-4 for desert. The pub itself lies off the main Abergavenny to Hereford Road and is the oldest inn in Wales. The pub hadn't changed since our last visit and probably not that much...

It was going back a bit since I stayed here but this is a perfect location if you like; perfect service; friendly and professional treatment and made to feel at home. Then add in the history of the hanging judge, the beautiful surroundings and the fresh food and the combination is a 100% winner. Got to go here!!

Just back from a two night stop at the Skirrid, which we booked sometime ago, my partner and daughter like ghost hunting and i love good old fashioned pubs. The day we were due to arrive we received a phone call asking if we needed a lift from the station (we did not but it was a nice touch). On...

Had a meal and a few pints of local brew and had a lovely evening. The food seemed to be all locally sourced and my steak and alr pie was rich and delicious. The pub is STEEPED in history and is reputed to be haunted but the ancient fireplace certainly threw out enough to match the warm welcome. Well worth...

Bit of a cheat as this pub is my local. It is situated in beautiful surroundings. The welcome, the food and the ambience all go to make it a good visit. It is well situated for the abundace of walkers to the area. It is the oldest pub in Wales and said to be haunted and holds regular haunted evenings.

This place is about 1000 years old. How cool is that. Stopped and had a few drinks while exploring Wales. Friendly staff, overall cool place. A must stop if in the area. Check the opening times. We got there but it didn't open until 11 or 12 pm.

Booked at the inn for a birthday meal. Car park next to on but didn't realise until leaving so parked on the side of the road. Was greated by a lovely women who made us feel welcome. We had a table next to the fire place. While waiting for our food the woman who greeted us was allowed us to...
