We were left disappointed, having researched this pub, to be told that dogs couldn't go in "when people were eating". We wouldn't have minded if they weren't advertising as being 'dog friendly' on a number of websites.

Food is really good and nothing is to much trouble, Not a fancy pub but relaxed atmosphere and dated back into time. Typical farmers country pub. No need to dress up more casual..Best to take a torch with you when leaving pub at back entrance as no lights to create the creepy setting.

Not disappointed. Very good food. A good pint of Butty Bach. Some Stowford Press cider and Strongbow for the ladies. Tomato and basil soup was gorgeous. Burger with onion rings, salad and chips was very tasty. The good lady and daughter also had the soup as a starter. The good lady then had lasagnea and the daughter had the lamb....

Stopped here for lunch, never been here before, its a really quirky place that could be a film set in the main bar. It has a beer garden at the rear and a sizeable car park. the choice of food was good for a pub and reasonably priced. I had Sea Bass, Ginger and Lime fishcakes and my wife had...

I actually reviewed this pub last night but it hasn't appeared so I'm going to try again as this great pub deserves it! This place is a total hoot! We were staying at nearby Pen y Dre farm and as we stay every year, it's a given that we visit here a lot! It's only draw back is that it's...

What a step back in time this experience was. We made our first ever visit to the Skirrid today and are still talking about it. Real stone floors, open fireplace and the front door was hung before Columbus sailed to America this building oozes charm. We had light meals for our lunch Ploughmans, Jacket potato and a curry. Our meals...

We visited on the off chance after hearing about the place locally. We had a couple of drinks but didn't have time to stay for food. If nothing else visit for a drink and a look around. It's a very interesting old building which is renowned for being the oldest inn in Wakes, and amongst the oldest in the British...

I visited The Skirrid Mountain Inn yesterday with my partner and friends and had a lovely meal. There's a vegetarian menu with a vegan option which is great, I had the sweet potato and spinach curry (vegan) and it was delicious :) We enjoyed learning about the history of the place and seeing the noose hanging on the stairs. The...
