The most amazing place I’ve ever been I love it so much! Food is always a 10/10 and rooms are cleaned perfectly 100% recommend!it’s also got great access to walkers because it’s right on the coast path. And the staff are always lovely and welcoming!

It is very hard to describe this hotel in normal terms as it is quite unique. It's not really an hotel but rather too large to be a B&B. It’s in an outstanding location on top of a west facing cliff in an old building but in need of a good deal of TLC. The staff were generally helpful and charming (there only seemed to be one person on duty as such) but seemed a little amateur. I sense that the national shortage of hospitality staff is affecting Pembrokeshire too. The interior is very shabby, not chic (though it may have been once), and this may partly be a reflection of the staff difficulties and that people come in with dogs and dirty boots – which was fine for us.
Our room at the top of the house was idiosyncratic with an uncomfortable bed and hot water going cold mid shower the second morning. The owner did reduce our bill because of the latter however which was fair but for my wife it was a very unpleasant experience. Our bed wasn't made (because of Covid??) and there was no soap (other than an antibacterial pump), gel or shampoo.
The bar did not seem to be in operation and there was very little life in the hotel but we were out of season at the beginning of October. Other guests were seen in the dining room where the food was very good indeed (other than an overcooked kipper at breakfast).
A relaxed laid back place which I can cope with (other than the bed), however I felt that £190 per night for a room (B&B) was rather high.

What an absolute DREAM of a location, this property is so unique, it's hard to call it a hotel or boutique or a guest house, to it encompassed so much more! There is history here and a peace that comes with it. We had the pleasure of getting to see several different rooms, and they were all beautiful. In the end we stayed in one of the rooms on the top floor with windows overlooking the gorgeous cliffs. I picked the room with the chimney going thru it thinking we would be warmer, but we were not! The weather was FREEZING, and the room was droughty. There were heaters in the room but they didnt work. So plan your trip, and check the heating before it's too late at night.
Be sure to go for a walk when the tide is out.
There's always a fire in fire place, a lovely dining room with delicious food and views, and neat little bar in the basement that opens out into the view, but whatever you do, dont feed the beloved pets who wander around the common areas. They are not permitted people food.

You cannot dispute the beauty of the setting and the exceptional quality of the food. But the bedrooms, oh my gosh, stuffy, tired, bedding was well used ( too used to my standards) the lack of cleanliness and availability to soap for hand washing post Covid was noted. It wasn’t till the third day that the soap dispenser on the main floor was refilled. The shower stall did not appear to be properly cleaned, the second evening there were visible hairs in the drain trap. It lacked grab bars or even a suitable area for one ‘s personal bathroom accessories. Fortunately I travel with my own yet a common area commercial soap unit one might expect at the hotel’s price point. I am okay with a shared bathroom, but everything needs to be Clean, including a box of tissues. One of my fellow travelers was told to use toilet paper. Expect lots of stairs and little to no help from the staff. Their visibility is consistent during meals mostly, otherwise, they fade into the woodwork. Despite the fire doors, it was unclear where the nearest exit stairs might be. A simple map in our rooms would have helped.

We often camp in St Brides Bay in the summer and know it well, so I booked one night DBnB at the Druidstone to celebrate my partners birthday in November. The Druidstone features in several guides (Guardian/Telegraph) as a romantic cliff top hotel. It is well known in Pembrokeshire and beyond. The reviews are very mixed and I should have taken this as a warning. All I can say is that the poor and negative reviews are spot on. It is a great location and the young staff do their best, but at a £180 BnB for a double room our stay represented very poor value. The room was clean, but cold with a barely functioning radiator, painted wood paneling and a great sea view, but the bathroom was disgusting, with mould in areas of the door frame and shower, not a room you wanted to linger in. The dinner was very poor, surely product of an amateur cook, barely the standard of a motorway services. Breakfast was even worse and consisted of a buffet where the cheapest cash and carry ingredients were left to stew in large serving dishes kept warm by three tea lights under each one. I struggled and my partner literally could not eat hers. At no point did anyone ask if everything was OK and not wishing to spoil the occasion further I thought I would save comments for a review. This is not a boutique hotel, it has the feel of a 1970s boarding house and without the draw of its location I doubt it would survive, An all round disappointment.

I had been walking various parts of the coastal path, and called by to ask if they would do a cream tea. That was fine, so I returned with my wife, spent in excess of £22 at reception, and waited in a largely empty dining area for 15 minutes before receiving anything. My coffee came another 5 minutes later...Still no knifes or spoon which we asked for. Half an hour later, we were asked if were staying there, and politely asked to leave by a rather embarrassed member of their staff, saying that they needed the space... Albeit still largely empty. Probably a charming if unconventional place, but don't waste calling in there and expect to be welcomed.

We stayed at The Roundhouse for two nights to celebrate my 50th birthday.
This quirky cliff top tiny home was so much more than l expected. As the wind and rain howled around us, we lay protected from the elements, snuggled in the candlelight sipping at our wine as the log fire crackled and glowed on the turreted ceiling above as we fell asleep. Then waking to uninterrupted views across St Brides Bay and hypnotic waves crashing on the shore below. The roundhouse is just such a magical place to spend a few days detached from the fast pace of life. No TV, no mod cons, just off grid simplicity at its best. And the bath tub was to die for 😍
We ate at the restaurant both evenings and drank at the bar, where we were welcomed by smiling faces and helpful staff, not to mention some furry friends who enjoyed our scratches. The food was also delicious both at breakfast and evening feast.
This is an unconventional, creative establishment which feels homely and welcoming to those who embrace all things quirky, artistic and pre-loved.

First discovered this magical place in 1983 when my daughter was 3 months old. Have stayed in the hotel and most of the cottages over the years - as has my now grown up daughter with her own children. This month we met up there with my son his wife and their 8 month old. Jane and Rod would be so proud of how Angus and Beth have taken this challenging place on. Its a huge building to maintain, let alone the several cottages , but they are plugging away at it and it's more homely than it ever was. The food was outstanding, we were spoilt for choice with such an imaginative menu and everything was cooked to perfection. Though we booked the restaurant each night we also ate in the bar at lunchtime and even found we were able to have a cream tea on spec with the most delicious fresh scones. My son stayed in the Roundhouse , which we too have stayed in , and it really is a lovely experience. All the other cottages offer all sorts of options for accomodating couples, families or groups. Don't expect luxury, they are homely and perfect for sandy beaches, dogs, children and the odd rainy day! On the way we stayed at an Air bnb which was like living in an Insatgram picture - never again! I could go on forever about this place, I can't imagine why anyone would not give this 5 stars. As someone else has said here - perhaps they're just not Druidstone people......

I Really don't like leaving bad reviews, but feel as though ppl need to be warned. This was meant to be a romantic little getaway for my husband and I. The room we stayed in cost £210, which is a lot for us. Granted the location was beautiful, the room itself was not by any means romantic. You could hear the neighbours as if they were in the same room. There were no toiletries, just some watered down hand soap. We had to go out to buy body wash. Although we expect this from Airbnbs we normally stay in for a third of the price, we don't for a room at £210. They also had a Christmas function which went on past 1am, keeping us awake. Guests were screaming outside and there was no attempt to control them. Overall a terrible night's sleep. My breakfast was nice, but brought the wrong toast (not a huge issue) but my husbands poached egg whites were runny and inedible. We decided to leave early because the whole experience left with a bad taste in our mouths. Definitely would not recommend or return. You can get comparable places at a third of the cost.

This is a fantastic place, with a really welcoming staff. Avoid corporate-feel hotels & enjoy the views & vibe. The owners have reinstated the original members-only rule in the bar which means guests can enjoy the space without a scrum. Love it.
