It has been recently refurbished to a high standard, and the impressive unique old central staircase meant a pleasant layout instead of the usual soleless long corridors. We found this once grand hotel to be tired, in need of supervision. The hotel was run by inexperienced youngsters, who despite trying their best, clearly needed guidance to bring up the standards required for this hotel. Agreeably surprised by lovely room with a fabulous jacuzzi bath. Nothing was too much trouble for Luke and Megan who had only been there a matter of weeks and made us very welcome . Marvelous staircase and interior decor

We stayed at this hotel in mid-March for a weekend and I absolutely wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The staff were helpful and really friendly. The room was really lovely and comfortable. Stayed here for a couple of nights over the Christmas / New Year period. Very relaxing, good food and good atmosphere. Had a lovely large room which was really comfy. Did this stay via Travelzoo and was excellent value for money. Would recommend.

We celebrated New Years Eve with relatives in Knighton and stayed at the Knighton Hotel. So often small village/town hotels in the UK do not come up to expectations but this is a great little hotel. The staff were very friendly and the food very good - including the excellent Sunday carvery which is very reasonably priced.
