Enjoy your stay in Barry!
We stayed here for a family gathering. I cannot recommend the hotel highly enough and that is mainly down to Ryan the manager and all the staff. They could not do enough for us and all with a smile. Handy for Barry, Barry Island and Cardiff. Also the restaurant next door does a carvery to die for! Clean rooms, comfy bed.
We stayed at the Cardiff Airport Travelodge between 05.11.2021 to 07.11.2021 whilst visitng our daughter who lives in Cardiff. However, due to the Autumn Rugby Internationals this was the closest we could get to her at a not so inflated price although it was more than we would normally wish to pay for a budget hotel. A price of £400 for the two rooms is extortionate for such accommodation However, we had a pleasant stay with the best thing about it being the very friendly welcome from Chris and his colleages both on first arrival and each time we can and went and he and they really made it for us We had two twin bedded rooms both on the ground floor and on either side of the building with the odd numbers being preferrential as they are on the quieter side of the building. My wife and I were in one of the even numbered rooms, which face on to the car park, and, as the windows are not double glazed, we were woken at 3.15am on 06.11.2021 by a group of people who were smoking outside the room adjacent to ours and shouting their friends. Coupled with the fact that the walls are paper thin you can hear every bang and footstep from the upper floors Apart from this the hotel is comfortable and clean and about 30 mins from Cardiff so not that far to travel although it does feel a little remote We have stayed in a number of budget hotels, usually Travelodge's main competitor, and this is not the worst by any means but they do need to control individuals congregating outside as this is a significant disturbance. We would choose to stay nearer Cardiff on future visits but, if that were not possible again, we would return here but I would struggle to recommend it to others…
The hotel was perfect for our family stay. We spent a few nights (4 of us) in a family room. It was spacious, clean, and had everything that we needed to make our stay in the hotel enjoyable. Staff were friendly and helpful if we needed them. Breakfast was a Toby, which was filling and fresh and had a good choice of food. Would recommend and will visit again.
Friendly staff. Free parking. Plenty of tea & coffee on arrival plus top ups. Ideal to visit Barry or the Glamorgan heritage coast. Budget friendly too. Cheap & cheerful clean accomodation. Spacious room, good TV and shower. Close to Cardiff airport.
Had a great stay In April this visit was just as good👍 staff are super friendly and the hotel is super clean 🙂 think the lady on reception was called dawn really efficient and informative also nice to see the Toby carvery next door has now reopened 👏
