We enjoyed our stay at the MC. It is a great value motel with friendly staff and views overlooking the yachts and boats berthed behind. We had the basic one bedroom and it was clean and we had most of what we needed. They brought us a microwave on request, which we now know can be sorted in advance. I wasn’t that thrilled we had to park our car away from our room, but for the majority your car is right outside. The location meant we could walk to everything, including the (free) ferry across the Raymond Island. We would stay again.
Our room was spacious and very clean with everything we needed. We had water views over the canal which was full of, mostly, very expensive boats. We enjoyed the Raymond Island experience and following the koala trail. We saw plenty of them, albeit fast asleep. The music festival was great, despite the weather being less than perfect and after having dinner at the Hotel on Saturday night stayed to enjoy a terrific band that we danced to all night. A terrific Motel in a perfect spot, with extremely friendly and welcoming staff, and a great place to visit.
We stayed here one night to break the trip to Melbourne and to enjoy the Paynesville Music Festival and was lucky enough to get a room here. Spacious, spotlessly clean with views over the water and moored boats behind. The staff were exceptionally friendly on check-in and the proximity to the Raymond Island ferry, main street and 3880 Restaurant was excellent. A really excellent motel apartment.
The Mariner’s Cove Motel made us feel welcome and confirmed that serene Paynesville feeling. The apartment was clean, spacious with a waterfront view of a tributary. A short walk to the Raymond Island ferry and eateries. Happy to endorse.
From the time we arrived, from the time we left ,great place to stay. Excellent location close to everything Room was lovely and clean very comfortable Great sitting outside on waters edge or fishing the jetty Will definitely be back
Our hosts, Jack and Jean, were delightful. The hotel room was spotless and well equipped with a sink and microwave (on request) which was great when not a studio. We had breakfast and snacks each day on our lovely patio fronting onto the canal, which had a peaceful view. It was a three-minute walk to all shops. We will definitely stay again when we next visit Paynesville.
We loved our stay at Mariners Cove Motel & Apartments. Managers Jeanne and Jack, and other staff, were friendly and happy to help with any queries we had. So good is the location, we barely had to use our car! The main Paynesville shops, pub and restaurants are just around the corner along the town foreshore (which includes a swimmable lake beach), and the Raymond Island ferry is only a five-minute stroll. Parking at the motel is easy with reserved spaces. Our motel room was comfortable and well-equipped. With its private-ish verandah, the room faced directly onto the Mariners Quay canal which is lined with boats of every description. A row of small jetties on the motel side give easy access to the water, and the motel's grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. Suffice to say we spent much of our motel time on the verandah enjoying the view of boats coming and going, the fresh air and the sounds of the local birds.…
For a minibreak I was planning to go to Lakes Entrance, but a Men's Shed friend advised me to go to Paynesville instead. Mariners Cove looked like a good place to stay and I wasn't disappointed. Although on my own I was booked into a family unit with extra single+queen beds upstairs and appreciated the airiness of the double height space. Internet worked well and hot water came out of the shower almost instantly (I do so hate dead legs). Best of is the location, room with a back terrace on the water and the Raymond Island ferry just across the road. Friendly welcome at reception was appreciated. Would I stay here again? Yes.
Second visit to this property and it did not disappoint. We visited Paynesville so we could dine at Sardine Restaurant which is a short walk away. The rooms are comfortable and good value. It is an older style motel, the room and bathroom are clean, the king bed comfortable and the outlook stunning. We would certainly stay again next time we are in the area.
My wife and I managed to get away for a couple of days between lockdown and Paynesville was the destination. It’s been about 30 years since we were last here and my how she’s grown up. We chose to stay at Mariners Cove as it was right on the water, you literally open up the doors and the water is right there, along with bbq and outdoor seating should you choose to cook and eat this way. The room was fine, a touch dated, but quite large and had everything we needed. The motel is close to restaurants, hotels and the ferry across to Raymond Island. In all a nice stay and we would stay there again when we returned.
