My visit at the Hale Springs Inn was in early March, so it may have been their off-season. The Inn is well adorned with a good history and story. The local historical society owns it and it appears to be the focal point of this small town. It is well situated for downtown walks and nice views from the guest...

It was our first time visiting Hale Springs Inn but not our last. I would go back in a heartbeat. The only problem we had was finding the parking area. The staff was great and friendly, and the food was really good. We got to this morning to a wonderful breakfast which is included in your stay. First time I...

I loved the history of the hotel, I really liked that the town loves the place - it was v popular for meals with local families. The staff are so rightfully proud of the place and it shows. We stayed in a large suite with soft linens for a good nights sleep. They provided an array of better toiletries for...

This was our first stay here. We LOVED it. The room was wonderfully decorated and very very clean!! We checked in and the lady at the front desk was very friendly. We ate dinner at the restaurant. My husband had the steak and he said it was the best he had in a while. I had the lemon grilled chicken...

What a great piece of history the Hale Springs Inn is but that is about it, sadly. NEGATIVES: The negatives outweigh the positives and it shouldn't be that way. 1. Check-in was okay. It seemed the young woman didn't work check-ins very much and was unable to answer our questions. 2. The bathroom could have been a tad bit cleaner....

We have stayed twice at Hale Springs Inn, and we love it. It is full of history, character, and charm. Not only is it quaint and comfortable, there's a nice restaurant on site. The rooms are large and super clean, and the staff has always gone above and beyond to make our stay perfect.

If you're looking for a historic place with just enough modern (cable tv, phone) to it, this is an awesome place. Beware, if you stay in a room that is on the 3rd floor, the elevator only goes up to the 2nd so heavy luggage could be cumbersome. This place was built in the early 1800's and is REALLY cool.

Pros: Our room was large and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms were well equipped and very clean. The staff seemed eager to please. Overall, a beautiful old inn. I'd definitely visit again. Suggestions for improvement: Blackout curtains or shades would have been nice for the windows in our room. Lights from outside made our room a bit...

If you love history, good service, and food, Hale Springs is for you! I gave it four stars because there was not a step stool into the high bed. It really should have 4.5 stars. Rogersville does not offer a lot to do, but it is still a quaint area with friendly people.

We were on a short toad trip to break the winter blahs. Decided to visit Rogersville as we heard it was a quaint town. Much to our delight all we heard was true. Lots of interesting history and a very walkable downtown area. We decided to have lunch at this charming hotel. They had a sign out that the special...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Inn was originally built in 1824 by John McKinney, a local lawyer and businessman. During the nineteenth century, the Inn played host to many famous personages as they made their way into the thriving new state of Tennessee. Among them were United States Presidents Andrew Jackson, James K. Polk, and Andrew Johnson. When the inn closed in 1998 it was Tennessee's oldest continuously operated inn. In 2003 the Rogersville Heritage Association purchased the inn and, in cooperation with city government, launched a renovation effort which surpassed $2.1 million. The inn reopened in 2009 and continues to be a gleaming example of the rich history found in Rogersville, TN. Hale Springs Inn boasts 9 gorgeous guest rooms, massage services on site, as well as McKinney's Restaurant & Tavern. The restaurant offers a competitively-priced menu with a focus on fresh, local ingredients and creative twists on traditional southern fare. ... more   less
