A bit of shock to the system when they found out. Utopian societies were a great dream at one time. Unfortunately, people don't act their ideals. They dream what they dream between reaching for cigarettes and another drink. This really is a beautiful house and worth keeping up.

The house was beautiful. Everywhere you looked there were reminders of the Victorian age. The first few hours we were there we didn't know about the internet service and had such a good time just unplugging. There is internet at each house that you can stay in as well as the restaurant. The room we stayed in was the suite...

The Newbury House is historic, quaint, but perfect for the mountains of Tennessee. The bed was a little hard but we had everything we needed and the surroundings are picturesque. The house has 6 rooms, some with private baths, a kitchen and a lounge. The nearby village is a history lovers dream. Casual and easy....a great day trip or overnight...

My husband and I were there for the weekend to attend a British Car Show. We stayed at the Newbury House in the Emily Hughes room. We had a shared bath but there was no one in the other room, so we had the bathroom to ourselves. The room was very quaint and comfortable. We had an air conditioner in...

This is part of a historic restored town designed to be utopia for English noblemen. It is rustic and definitely not luxurious but a lovely, quiet place to stay away from all modern noise and rush. It is a very small area. I probable would not stay more than 2 nights. Very interesting history here. Unique. There are several festivals...

My family and I stayed for one night in the Thomas Hughes Suite. It's a queen and 2 twin bed. The queen bed SQUEAKS so bad! Honestly I didn't sleep at all because every time I would move it just squeaks loud. The room just smells to me. I realize it's old and historic but it has this distinct smell....

We stayed in the Thomas Hughes Suite which sleeps up to 4, 1 Q and 2 T on the first floor. The room and beds (very squeaky) and pillows were comfortable. There is a large and well kept kitchen area, living room and porch area with TV/movies for guest use (we did not use any of it). The grounds overlooking...

Newbury House is a comfortable though not luxurious Bed & Breakfast run by the nonprofit Historic Rugby organization. There is a nice large parlor for the use of guests, as well as a kitchen and a sunroom with a small TV (this is the only TV in the building). Individual rooms are furnished with antique furniture including full size (not...

My wife and I had the whole house to ourselves during a three-night stay. We stayed in the Sarah Walton on the second floor. The house has been completely redone back in the 80's but looks as though you've stepped into a house straight from the late nineteenth century, as it should. The amenities remind you, however, why advances were...

I've stayed at Newbury House in Historic Rugby three times (with a fourth coming up this month). Whenever we've gone, we've been the only guests, which was quite nice - we could pretend we owned the place! Everything you need to prepare meals is in the kitchen, and a lovely breakfast is prepared 'in town'...a very short walk from the...
