I'm a Hilton Honors business traveler, but on my own dime took a chance on this one on the way to sis-in-law's. It was fantastic and we where pleasantly surprised on the way to NC So much so, we booked again on the way back. This time, not so good. The room did not smell fresh and the bed looked like it had been slept in when we turned down the covers for the night. Thank goodness I travel with a sleep sack, but it was so dissapointing to have to use it. Other signs of uncleanliness like heavy dust on the door panels. My advice: if you DO stay here, check the room thoroughly (pull back the bed covers). If it's not up to par, ask for another room and tell them why.
The Hotel itself is very nicely manicured on the outside, But I noticed it needs some upgrading on the inside.. , especially around the Hallways & Elevator, My wife & I stayed 4 days an we were a bit disappointed with the front desk staff, we expected to have better hospitality , not very friendly or helpful at all . The good points i picked out are as followed...The Coffee is great, an its available 24 hours a day, the breakfast buffet was average at best I wasn't a huge fan of it, the indoor pool was a bit small but a good size, the hot tub was also a bit small but nice it was available also 24 hours, the internet was extremely slow, the laundry room was small an they are coin operated. an finally to our room, the room was average size , the TV was a bit cheesy a lower grade model , an most channels had bad reception, the bed was extremely comfortable, an the bathroom needed some upgrading, the balcony was extremely dirty had cob webs an dead bugs all over an the chairs were filthy an had some kind of black stains on them..Overall would I book again? I think the answer would have to be a definite NO…
We stayed at this location in the past year and our kids begged to return. Our children rarely agree, but they all voted to stay at the “White House” as they call it. The value is great. Usually you get what you pay for, but not the case with this property. You get far more. The location is out of the busy part of the area, but still plenty around. Vending and Ice machines on all floors. Plenty of parking. Breakfast-last time we stayed breakfast was served in a bag. This time there were so many options you wouldn’t leave hungry. Coffee was available in the lobby at night. Pool-nice and clean. Plenty of seating. There was no strong chemical smell or smothering heat like other indoor pools we have been to. Beds- comfortable with several pillows. Room-clean and spacious. We seriously can’t think of one negative thing to say. Will definitely return.…
The hotel was absolutely beautiful and for the most part the staff is very nice. However, the internet is probably the worst of all hotels I've stayed at - and don't dare ask the front desk if it's just this room or is it just the internet. I am here at the hotel right now and when I asked the lady at the front desk this question, she almost chewed my head off, stating she's the only one here and doesn't know about those things! But she is the only rude one we've come across. Everyone else is wonderful and the hotel truly is awesome. If not for her and the internet issues, I would have given it a 5-star.
We stayed for two nights. It was nice to be out of the business of Pigeon Forge area. The Hotel is like out of the Old South and the gazebo with the lazy river / pool was so pretty. The rooms are so clean that I felt at home. We had a room at the back with the view of the river. The water was so clear and still you could see the clouds in it. They have very good security and we loved the door at the side that was locked and you use your room key to get in. I have never felt so safe in a hotel. The inside decor is just as pretty as the outside. Make sure you look around. I loved the chandelier. The flowers out front are very pretty. The Staff are so friendly and helpful. You can tell Management runs this place very well and they care about their guests needs. Even the halls are very clean. The breakfast is served on the second floor, which was not far from where we were at. They had a nice big selection for breakfast with gloves for you if you cared to us them. Coffee, juice machine etc. There were two waffle makers. We got our breakfast to take back to our room. We met a cleaning lady in the hall that was so very nice. I appreciate that they clean the way you want your home cleaned!! That is fantastic. The two queen bed room was very comfortable and the bed was just the right height instead of being too tall. In a different section they have a couch and desk with chair. Probably the nicest Hotel we have ever stayed at!…
