This place had blood all over sheets, door knobs, head board and wall. Was brought to mangers attention and did not do anything. Talked to staff cleaning my room and they say they don’t even change the comforter at all. Nor do they change the pillows or mattress protectors. Be sure to check your beds.
Assignment of a dirty mop smelling room: September 28, my wife and I checked into Sevierville IHG Express. At the front desk, Jessica assigned us room 427. When we entered the room, there was a terrible odor that smelled like a dirty mop, and we noticed the bathroom vent was left on (apparently to ventilate the odor). I tried spraying with Lysol, but it did not seem to help the strong odor. The odor actually caused my sinuses to begin dripping (I have had 3 sinus surgeries due to my severe allergies). I went back to the front ."desk and someone else was there, who listened to my problem and went to the room with me. She said all she could smell was the Lysol, but offered to find me another room. She assigned us room 422, and we moved all our things to the new room, which smelled much better. Door keys which don’t work: However, when we went to the room, the key cards did not work, so I returned to the front desk and the nice lady made us new key cards and went to the room to try them herself. One key card worked and one did not. Later we sent out and upon return, the key cards again did not work. Going down on the elevator, I mentioned my problem to another guest, and he said the same thing happened to him. He said, “Sometimes they work, and sometimes they don’t”. The next morning I went down to get coffee, and upon returning, it happened again, the key card did not work. My wife was asleep and did not hear my knocking on the door, so I went to the front desk and asked the lady if she would call my room and tell my wife to open the door. She picked up the phone and it was dead. She said, “No wonder I didn’t get calls all night!”. She then went to the other phone set and the same thing, it was dead also. She then proceeded to make new key cards and went to the room with me. One key card worked, the other did not. We went back to the front desk and she made two more key cards for me. Strangely, when I tried them, one worked and one did not. The almost dog disaster, and false advertising: On September 30th, my wife and I were leaving for the day. As we exited the elevator and approached the hallway intersection (leading to the lobby), thankfully I was in front of my wife and saw an oversized dog running around the corner, pulling a young lady. She had the dog on a leash about 5 feet long, not pulled up close. I quickly moved back, moving my wife away from the dog. Special Note: my wife had a knee replacement, and if this dog had run into her, it could have severely damaged her knee. I fussed at the young lady, telling her the danger she put me and my wife in, and she apologized. I want to make clear that an apology would have been no good if that dog had run into my wife and damaged her knee. On leaving, I approached the front desk and explained to Jessica what had happened. I asked her why a dog was allowed in the building (note that it was NOT a disability animal) when we had to sign an agreement that we could not have animals in our room. She replied that visitors were allowed to bring a dog into the building. I advised her that I had chosen this particular hotel because animals (other than disability animals) were not allowed, because I had severe allergies to animals. She only wanted to make excuses for the animal being allowed in. This is not acceptable. I paid over $700 for three nights, which definitely was overpriced for this hotel room, considering the problems my wife and I encountered. Because of the discomfort this hotel caused, it should be paying us for pain and suffering. All this occurred during our stay from September 28 until October 1, 2022.…
This is a very busy but well run hotel. The room layout was a bit strange- one queen bed room by the door with its own tv, bathroom in the middle with a separate tub/shower/toilet room and a sink outside, and a second queen bed with a closet and another tv next to the balcony door. It was odd to sleep so close to the door, but it wasn’t as noisy as we predicted. Our white noise fan app drowned out the noise. The popcorn every night was fun, as was visiting with Pete the parrot in the lobby. Breakfast had standard hotel fair- oatmeal, v cereal, yogurt, bananas, fruit cups, muffins, bagels, fake scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, warm cinnamon buns and a pancake maker. The location is good. Super close to Walmart and the Tanger outlet mall. About 15 min to Dollywood. We would stay here again for sure!…
My hubby is an elite IHG member. We stayed here since it was near Cal Ripken field Check in was very slow. The lady did not know she was going. It took forever. We were woken up the next morning but the smile alarm. It was false thank goodness. We were going to a game. We asked for a late check in. Front desk staff said what is you r room number and name? We told him. He said I can give you a 2pm checkout. Perfect. Then he said what is your room number and name We got a call at noon to tell us we did not check out our room. PLEASE people!
The staff members at this Holiday Inn Express were all friendly and helpful. However, the rooms need attention, particularly in terms of updating them to provide more lighting and air conditioners that don't drain their evaporated water directly into the rooms. About a third of our room's floor was soaking wet from the air conditioner's evaporated water, and when we called the desk to discuss a move to a dry-floored room, we were told that nearly every room has that issue. We usually enjoy Holiday Inn Express—it's our second-from-the-top go-to brand—but we will not likely stay at this one again because it simply didn't live up to the brand's normal standards.
When I travel, I almost always seek out a Holiday Inn. I do this not just because I am an IHG rewards member, but because of their reputation, and past experiences. This location was clean and the staff was friendly. However, the rooms could use a little work. The beds were what I would expect at a $50/night roadside motel, not a $155/night Holiday Inn. The mattress was so hard, I questioned whether or not I’d have been better off trying to sleep in the floor. Not to thrilled with this experience.
Checked in online-didn’t arrive until after check in time. Was told our room not ready due to staffing-I was fine with that until they checked in 5 other customers, and waited 1/2 hour. Then another front desk staff asked why we were standing there, she had just come on duty. She got us a room within 5 minutes, and balcony view. Great, but got into room, the night stands were filthy and vanity counter also. I wiped off- had reservations and needed to hurry. Then after 2nd night got told when came back from outing that we’re supposed to be checked out. Luckily my IHG app had reservations on it. Did show was 3 nights. Front desk excuse was short staffing AGAIN. Did let us stay in same room-no apologizing from her. We are short staffed also at my job like everyone- but then need to make adjustments. Don’t book rooms if can’t clean properly. Best thing about stay was great breakfast. Unfortunately we will not stay here again, the other places we stayed were also busy, but ready and clean.…
First, if you stay here on the weekend and plan to stay out past 10 PM, you'll be asked to park on an unlit street BEHIND the property. This while trucks take up two spots and trailers take up 4-5. Then you'll enter your King Suite that, well, is just an incredibly small room that happens to have a sitting room when you walk in. That's fine. Except the bathroom was basically the equivalent of a Motel 6 and the area where the king bed was is incredibly cramped bc they saved space to add a sitting rom. Oh, and don't expect a balcony overlooking the city as one who books a suite might as that's all you see when driving up to the property. No, they'll stick you in the back with a street lamp beaming on your window overlooking the rear parking lot. Then, when you complain, they tell you "Booking.com will say whatever they want to rent a room and that they cant check you out and refund you because you went through a third-party. However, when you contact Booking.com, they tell you its the property's responsibility... Either way, I would avoid this place like the plague. Unless you want a basic room, which probably comes with a balcony, then maybe its ok.…
First, let me give kudos to the front desk staff. They were and are very nice and accommodating. Beyond that there was nothing here that showed me that this was a holiday inn of any kind. From front door to rooms there is nothing like my experiences with Holiday INN(and not being familiar with the area hotels chose this "Holiday Inn Express")
You know those Holiday Inn Express commercials with the theme that you will be smarter for having stayed here? Well, that doesn’t apply to this location. In fact, you will be asking yourself how could you be so foolish for actually booking this hotel. The only redeeming quality and the only reason it is getting two circles instead of one is Olga. When we checked-in she initially put us on the ground floor. Usually I have no issues with staying on the ground floor; however, that is in hotels where the walls are not paper thin. Noise from crowds coming through the lobby was one thing, but what really made the room unbearable is that when anyone in the rooms above flushed their toilet, a startlingly loud whooshing sound of water and waste erupted through the wall. After enduring this cacophony of sounds for over an hour, I had had enough. This is where Olga helps boost the rating. After informing her of our issues with the room and being unable to sleep, she was able to move us to the top floor away from the elevator. This turned out to be a better room from the fact that we didn’t have to endure the sounds of the crowds on the elevators and the flushing toilets. However, the walls are just as thin and the doors do not seal well from a soundproofing perspective. We still endured loud rumblings of the ice maker and slamming doors throughout the night. In fact, during our final night’s stay, our new neighbor chose to travel by way of stairs. The door to the stairwell is right on the wall where my weary head was laying attempting to fall asleep. The door closing mechanism is set in a such a way that when the door closes it slams with an intensity that shakes the entire side of the building we were on. He made at least 6 trips (12 door slams) over two hours. Oh, and he had a very large dog in the room with him. The dog must love him very much because every time he would leave the room the dog would whine and moan until his return. If you are a light sleeper, like me, I would definitely recommend selecting another option for your stay in this area. A cabin far away in the forest or mountainside would be my recommendation.…
