Celebrated my wife's birthday with a wonderful dinner at Dancing Bear Lodge's restaurant, The Appalachian Bistro. The meal was wonderful and we greatly enjoyed sitting outside. My wife had the salmon and I had the giant porterhouse steak. Food and service were great. The room was fantastic. After an eight mile hike in the Smoky's it was nice to sit...

This was our second time staying at Dancing Bear and we stayed at the same cabin. We never used the hot tub the first time, but when we did this time it was not hot...more like bath water and the jets were not powerful at all. We did not stay in long. The cabin is great lots of special details....

My wife and I went here for a 20th anniversary. It was a very relaxing place. The cabin we stayed in had all amenities that we needed. The staff was very accommodating. We ate in the new bistro which was delicious. They have very unique dishes with excellent preparation. We would both highly recommend dancing bear lodge and the bistro.

This was my third stay at Dancing Bear and once again, the attention to detail was exceptional. The cabins are clean and the bedding is incredibly comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with Dancing Bear granola and coffee, yogurt, orange juice, and fruit for breakfast. A wood burning fireplace, private back porch with swing and rocking chairs, plus a hot tub...

Just a short 2-hour drive from Chattanooga, this property has the rustic warmth of a simpler time AND all of the amenities of a modern get-away: sumptuous bedding, wood-burning fireplaces, comfortable lounging, porch swings and rocking chairs, hiking trails, the mercantile with mountain crafts, antique shops within minutes, and beauty all around! However, our primary reason for visiting this property...

The Dancing bear is a wonderful retreat on the peaceful side of the Smokys. The cabins are wonderful and the bistro will delight your senses. A must stay for anyone who is looking for a restful, beautiful retreat for themselves, couples or family. The area is gorgeous and if you enjoy hiking or biking you are only minutes away from...

My wife and I stayed at Dancing Bear in one of their log cabins. It was a chilly evening so the fire place and hot tub were perfect amenities, especially after a wonderful dinner at their restaurant which also has a nice fireplace by the bar. The new owners have thought of everything; we will be back on a regular...

Within 5 minutes of arrival, I was already planning my next visit. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The property is lovely, and I had a top-notch meal at the on-site bistro restaurant. The cabin itself was clean, charming, and cozy. The decor was modern and elegant, while maintaining a rustic cabin style. I enjoyed every minute, and can't...

Overall the cabin was lovely. Although not secluded, the neighboring cabin was hardly noticeable from within or the porch area. The bedrooms were fantastic. My only "complaint," so to speak, would be the seating for the living room. What was available was in good condition. However, I would think have 2 bedrooms each with king beds would support the assumption...

Thank you Kelley! We apologize that we didn't have enough seating for you. We'll definitely take a look at that situation. But we're glad you enjoyed your stay!!

This is one of Townsend’s new upscale lodgings. We didn’t stay in one of the more expensive private cabins, but took advantage of an off-season discount to stay in one of the newly-built “semi-detached villas.” My wife and I loved the modern high-ceiling loft stylings with large wrap around windows. By day you can look up and see the trees,...
