Exceptional resort. We loved everything about the resort. 5 stars is not enough. The staff at the resort, from the housekeepers to the waiters at the restaurant were all top notch. The surrounding area is beautiful. The day trips were worth the time and the money. We stayed in cabana #2. The sounds of the running river were amazing. We...

My husband and I recently stayed in a luxury cabana, #11 , for 3 nights and would love to return ! We were greeted by Virgil at the airport and he drove us to Blancaneaux. He had waters and chips for us and the vehicle was clean with a/c. Virgil was so nice and knows so much about Belize. He...

Very nice relaxing resort. Stayed at the Enchanted Cottage. Great view. Edmond was our personal attendent . Exceptional job. He was friendly managed our stay. Took care of everything. Good variety of food. The Guatemalan restaurant was very good. Went on several tours. The tour guide Eddie did a great job very knowledgeable. The roads are not the greatest but...

What a great property for adventure enthusiasts! So much to see and do. Although no air conditioning, the fans and screened open windows did the trick to keep it cool. Cottage 2 is a bit of a trek to the restaurant but the creek view is worth it. Horseback riding down to the Big Rock Waterfall and hiking down and...

This is an eco-friendly resort in Belize near the Guatemalan border. They produce their own electricity through hydroelectric power, they recycle, and produce a lot of their food through a garden on premises. As a result, there are no TVs, I did not see or hear radios, Wi-Fi is available in the reception area, there are no phones in the...

We stayed in in a luxury cabana and then a few nights in the Enchanted Cottage. Fantastic experience- staff were great, grounds spectacular, wonderful time walking around- garden, stables. Day trip to Tikal was very special, arranged through the lodge- great guide in terms of knowledge and security. Horseback riding was great, day hikes, etc. Really enjoyed the food. (Food...

At this lodge owned by Movie Director Francis Ford Coppola far into the west of the country of BELIZE and in the Mountains there, you are one on with nature. Thatched roof comfortable and clean accommodations provide you with a good nights rest. Chirping birds awaken you and Windows and doors are opened to the flora and fauna there. Some...

Spent 3 nights. Wish it had been 5. They treat you right and you feel at home. We didn't see any bug issues but kept ourselves covered in spray. We arrived 2 days after a hurricane and the resort was almost empty but they made it perfect with an army of workers. We went to Tikal in Guatemala and it...

The property itself is spectacular, though it is quite a way to get there on some really bumpy road. Our family with two kids and grand parents stayed at the two bedroom villa. The shared common area between the two rooms was open overlooking the river. Pros: Beautiful location Service was great Kid friendly The tours offered on site were...

Thank you for your review- We try our best to have our property bug free- however, we are an environmentally friendly oriented resort. Regarding the road condition, the upgrading of the second road is on its way, this will surely cut down on travel time.

We decided to take our kids (5, 8, and 13) on a vacation to Belize for the various neat outdoor activities that the country has to offer, and also to start exposing them to a vacation that is different from the typical U.S. beach trip or Disney. We found a travel agent online, Barbs Belize, who recommended this lodge as...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In the early 1980s, Francis Ford Coppola visited Belize, immediately fell in love with the location, and purchased the abandoned Blancaneaux Lodge. For more than a decade the resort was used as a family retreat before Francis opened his tropical paradise to the public in 1993. Tucked away in a pocket of the Maya Mountains, Blancaneaux Lodge is a 20-room luxury resort where waterfalls tumble into turquoise pools above the jungle canopy. Its remote mountain setting makes it a perfect place to relax, rejuvenate and enjoy life’s simple pleasures. ... more   less
