This review is difficult to write because it is hard to even figure out where to begin. We booked two rooms at this hotel for a family function that we were attending in the area. It was wedding season in Brenham so hotels were pretty booked throughout town and we ended up here. Two days before arrival I received the customary "We are looking forward to seeing you" email from Super 8 and figured all was fine. Little did I know that was all about to change... On our day of arrival I received a call from the hotel to let me know that both my reservations had been cancelled by their booking system because my card was declined. I recently had to have a VISA reissued because of fraud and thought that must be the reason for the issue. The hotel offered to re-book the rooms and I gave them a different card and thought to myself that was nice of them to call. This is where the story takes a turn for the worse. We arrived later that day and checked into the rooms and as we were unpacking I noticed that my rate had gone up from the $109 + tax for both rooms to $149 + tax for one room and $189 + tax for the other. This was a pretty steep jump so I went back down to the desk to inquire why I was booked at a higher rate. I spoke to the same gentleman that checked me in and immediately was berated at the desk in front of two other guests that "I gave him a credit card without a penny on it" and the rates I previously had were no good. I tried to explain to him that the card was cancelled due to fraud (but I am not sure that is the real reason this all happened) and at this point he had a new card from me that was perfectly fine. I was told I had to leave his lobby or I was to be thrown out of the hotel. With no place else to go we stayed. What else could I do? The more I thought about the whole situation it began to feel like I had fallen victim to a bate and switch. All the hotels were full in town and my rate that I booked a month earlier was substantially lower than what I ended up paying. According to the manger I was suppose to have received an email letting me know that our rooms had been canceled, but I did not receive such a message (and he could not show it to me at the hotel). After reading a couple other reviews on Trip Advisor it appears other people have had their rooms canceled on the day of arrival and had their rates bumped as well. I am simply speculating, but where there is smoke there usually is fire. The long and the short of it is... simply don't stay here. The hotel is dirty and people/guests had exterior doors propped open almost until midnight coming and going (bypassing the lobby). People where in the hallways throughout the night and none of us felt particularity safe at this hotel. I have included pictures of my original reservation along with the rates I was charged as well as general pictures of the hotel and how it is kept.…
Had a great great stay there people with great room was nice and was told where we could go eat at a great restaurant appreciate everything, i let you know about our stay . do not like to be told how much i need to put down.
Super 8 was great. We were there to see family. Our room was very clean. Breakfast was good. Management was always there to help. We ate at the restaurant and it was a great experience. Overall this hotel was very good and we will definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to others.
Check in went smoothly, the room was clean and the AC was cool. Stay over service was great! Our housekeeper Melissa was very nice and helpful with info about local events. Can't wait to visit again :)
After arriving during a thunderstorm, we found out many of the things we wanted to do were still closed due to Covid (or limited hours) so we decided to check out a day early. Because it was past the 24 hour cancellation for the 2nd day, we were told we'd be charged the full amount. Although we did show up for the first night, it did not matter. There were several misunderstandings (one due to them cancelling the room then rebooking because my husband checked in with a different credit card). I called Wyndham Customer Care while we were there. Have since gotten an email from Super 8 saying they were in the right & would not consider reimbursement for checking out a day early. Wyndham will not do anything since Super 8's are personally owned. Very poor on their part. During Covid restrictions, most hotels are waiving penalties but this one wouldn't even help clear up confusions. I'd said before this stay that I didn't want to stay at Super 8's again & this made sure of it! Never again & possibly not even Wyndham's brands.…
