Positive: The staff "seemed" friendly and eager to help, the room was lovely with the giant chandelier/lamp and the cute balcony overlooking the Eyeball. Negatives: The light system is a nightmare with buttons turning off and on the wrong features (even the maintenance man couldn't help figure it out), the bathroom window shades were broken, we waited close to an...

Not a good experience. The front desk acted like they were doing me a favor at check in and check out. The rooms are cramped and dark. The restaurant (CBD Provisions) was not good. At dinner, the hamburger was over cooked and salty, and at breakfast they got my order wrong. The restaurant was empty during both meals. There have...

I stayed here while I was n town for a wedding. Liked the pre-arrival email. The location is fantastic and the bars and restaurants attached to/near the hotel are fantastic. I really enjoyed the cafe downstairs as well. The spa was quite good. Really relaxing and my therapist as very professional. I didn't find my room very interesting or memorable...

What could feel you more welcome than a complimentary glass of rose champagne at check-in? From the moment you walk into this chic Dallas hotel, you know you're someplace special. The service is attentive, professional and responsive but not stuffy or snooty. The rooms are thoughtfully and sleekly designed for comfort. The beds are super comfortable. There are no words...

We're in Dallas for a conference and sine this was also the venue for the stayed at Joule. Old bank building that was renovated into a very modern architecturally designed bldg with interesting art work in monochromatic color. In downtown Dallas which is also going thru a face lift. Expensive hotel. Very close to some great restaurants---all within walking distance.

Welcomed to this beautifully modernized hotel in the heart of downtown Dallas with a glass of bubbly. Close walking distance to shopping, restaurants, pubs/bars, convention center, museums, etc. Staff was very helpful and friendly and access to transportation fantastic. Only issue was that the higher the floor, the more of a sewage smell was coming from a vent near the...

I stayed recently at The Joule, and it was hands-down the best hotel I have ever patronized. While I do not usually stay in high-end hotels, I have on occasion, and this one was definitely the stand out. A large part of that (though certainly not all) was their staff. Never have I encountered such friendliness in a hotel staff!...

This was our first time to stay at The Joule. My husband dropped me off at the door so I could check in. Check in was easy except I couldn't figure out how to work the elevator. I went back and asked and he told me to use my room key. Would have been nice to tell me that in...

I travel every week and the Joule was the best hotel I've stayed at in years. Our room was cozy and nicely appointed. The pool deck is great, the gym is large and well equipped. But nothing was more impressive than the service! It's the small attention to details that is so impressive: opening doors, greeting you by name, offering...

Location: Downtown, but nothing notable about the location. There are a few cute upscale boutiques nearby. CVS and 7-11 are both only a couple of blocks away. I'd recommend a car if you can swing it, but please note that valet parking at the hotel is $27/night. General: I went here for a quick one-nighter over 4th of July weekend....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Joule Hotel, named for the international unit of energy, is the stunning product of a revitalized 1920's neo-gothic landmark Dallas building, three restored buildings of 1930's vintage, and several new structures. A visual masterpiece from award-winning designer Adam D. Tihany, the hotel creates a tasteful union of old world quality and contemporary design, while densely populated throughout by museum quality artwork from names including Tony Cragg, Tony Tasset, Andy Warhol and Richard Phillips. In addition to new guest rooms, spectacular multi-story penthouses and bespoke lobby experience, the property includes an impressive glass-fronted rooftop cantilevered pool, subterranean spa, rooftop terrace with glass pavilion, beautiful event spaces, first-class dining, vibrant cocktail destinations and one-of-a-kind shopping experiences. The Joule is an artfully delivered experience set in the heart of downtown, adjacent to the flagship Neiman Marcus and within walking distance of the Dallas Arts District. ... more   less
