Lodging--Clean, Clean, Clean--Bed so comfortable, room unique Western motif, comfortable temperature in the room-- no complaints Service--Stan was an excellent host. Made every effort to make our stay first-class There were 11 of us--extended family. We loved the big lodge where we heated our dinner and sat and talked. Then outside we built a fire and sat around and talked...

I enjoyed my stay at the ranch. I actually slept better than i've slept since coming to TX. I am a graduate student at A&M and my visit was mainly business. I was hired as a driver for a tourism class which was visiting the ranch for a tourism experience. I was impressed with the ranch considering the main construct...

Picture yourself hours from the city, staring up at a clear sky filled with more stars then you've ever seen in your life, and an ice cold Shiner beer in your hand... The X Bar is the perfect place for people who just want to get away from it all. If the hotel had not been totally booked up by...

Husband and I stayed at the X-Bar Ranch after I accidentally found it durig an Internet search. We opted to stay in one of the Cabins. The cabin, while small, was extremely clean and was comfortably furnished. The Lodge was great. Comfortable furniture, full kitchen, and the most wonderful back porch to sit on and contemplate the meaning of the...

We spent a long weekend at the X Bar Ranch and truly enjoyed every minute. The location is remote, which is what we wanted. Loved the peace and quiet. We spent the morning on the hiking trails, and used the kitchen to make dinner to eat out on the porch in the evenings. The cabins are beautiful and well-furnished, and...

The X Bar is secluded for anyone not in the southwest Texas area but then that's what it takes for a serious stargazer looking for dark skies. What the X Bar provides is a dark, dry sky and a small, comfortable cabin on a well maintained and open observing field. It simply cannot get any more convenient for those seeking...

I go to X-Bar for the peace and serinity of the night sky. I am an astronomer and I come out with small group of my astronomer colleagues. The X-Bar is extremely clean in the lodge, cabins and the grounds. It is undisturbed west Texas country side. I like to hike around the laid out trails and use the pool in...

We stayed in the Round House and it was total privacy from the first moment. A very well stocked kitchen and a great smoker on the patio! Beautiful stone architecture surrounded by Mother Nature in her finest rugged self.

We used the X-Bar Ranch for a business planning retreat. The Lodge worked great for meetings/work space, meals, and down time. The meeting room is spacious, comfortable, and has great views to remind you that you're not in a corporate setting. There is plenty of room to spread out, and use various areas of the building for work, vs. meals,...

We stayed here for a couple of very peaceful nights. It rained the first day and the air smelled wonderful. Then it cleared off and there were all these amazing stars that night. I would go back and hike the trails, bring food to prepare in the lodge, and stay many more nights. Really a lovely place, I can't recommend...
