The Galvestonian is designed for pleasure and relaxation. For outdoor fun, the large heated swimming pool, which features a hot-tub Jacuzzi, is elevated on a deck which runs almost the entire length of the building. This affords the privacy you deserve, plus a spectacular view of the Gulf of Mexico. The spacious poolside cabana is quiet, shaded area for enjoying pool side refreshments. For tennis buffs, there are two lighted courts. And, of course, there are miles of beach a few steps down from the pool deck. You can stroll along the water's edge, build sand castles or simply relax on the sand and let the sun's golden rays warm your body. East Beach is the most exclusive beach in Texas. Only 50 minutes from Hobby Airport and only three minutes from downtown Galveston. East Beach is a hideaway which will allow you to escape life's pressures.

I just returned from a three night stay at the Galvestonian in unit 1101. I had three children with me (ages 13, 11, and 9). I looked back through my review history to see when my first stay at the Galvestonian was, and it was July 2009 - over twelve years ago. My family has stayed there at least eight times over the last twelve years, and we have brought many friends and relatives along to join us there over the years. Some things have stayed the same, and some things have changed! Our unit was a 2 BR, 2 BA, and it was immaculately clean and well appointed. It was also a little more updated than some of the units we have stayed in over the years - which can admittedly be a low bar. I would definitely recommend that specific unit if you decide to stay at the Galvestonian.

Wow! New management is horrible! They have ruined our 10 year family tradition coming here with all these stupid new rules! No housekeeping unless you stay 5 night's? No drinks by the pool, but you can have one by the hot tub? What? No kids toys allowed in the pool? No kids jumping in the pool? Wristbands the entire stay and can't take em off? No suttle music by our table? When it only said no "loud" music. I can't believe how many times this lady came out telling people around the pool and the lobby, no this or that. It wasn't relaxing for us or fun for the kids anymore, it was stressful. I'm so sad this has ended it for us and I hope they realize how many people reviewing lately are saying the exact same thing.

We finished off our vacation in Texas by staying at The Galvestonian. It was a very peaceful hotel and we enjoyed staying at the property. From what I understand, it's partially condo owners, and partially rented out like a hotel. So, when booking, you choose the room that you want. The front desk staff is very welcoming and friendly. Pool people also nice, and they kept the towels ready for us. The pool area was very relaxing. Plenty of seats available and not many people there. Even when it got a little busier, it was still good since the pool and area is so large. Beach was very quiet. It's a long walk to the beach but it feel secluded and private. It might be nice if the hotel had a restaurant or a snack shop for coffee. Something like that. But overall our stay was

Upon booking we were expecting a upscale stay. The front desk was not friendly. Immediately upon check-in the rules list was given to us in a stern way as if we were a hassle with our stay there. To enter the swim area you have to wear a plastic arm band throughout your stay. This means you have to wear it 24hrs a day to be able to swim at any time. Also the staff is constantly watching over the pool instructing parents of small children they can't do this and can't do that. One morning I watched an older gentleman who was standing by the steps told he could not drink his coffee travel container beside the pool. It was enclosed and not glass. Another child jumped into the pool feet first and was told they could not do that. The location is pretty but not worth

Looking forward for a wonderful stay to celebrate my 79 year old grandma’s bday we book two condos for all my family we had a kid extra per condo, knowing that we called before booking, a day before and the day of our arrival just to confirm that it won't be any problem to have a 3 yr and a 5 yr old extra or if we can pay extra for the extra ppl, on the phone they assured as it was fine, on our arrival the route Melissa welcomed us so rude trying to book in she started giving us a attitude , my cousin asked to talked a a higher authority seeing she was being so rude we tried to talked to somebody else so we can either pay extra or get an extra room, she was so rude that there was no way to talked to her, my uncle ask another guy that was there for help he was rude that my

An annual trip to the Galvestonian is a staple in my husbands family. They have been visiting every summer for 35 years. I have been visiting for 10 of them. We have stayed in countless one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom condos. The Galvestonian is dated. Most rentals have small bathrooms and tiny kitchens. We have stayed at nicer, newer and less expensive condos on west beach. What kept us coming back year after year is the amenities, views and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the Galvestonian no longer feels like home. Staff our flat out rude, maid service is no longer offered, the complex is not kid friendly and the atmosphere just feels tense. You are forced to wear a generic cheap green bracelet at all times to prove you are a renter. They use to offer fruit infused

Hands down the best place we could have picked for our stay in Galveston. We don’t love Texas beaches but I have to say this place easily made up for it! VERY CLEAN condo (503) and the facilities seem to be adequately maintained as well. I do agree that overall there is a bit of aging but thats to be expected and nothing took us by surprise…and again, it was all very clean! It’s located further down the island so it’s much quieter but still within close proximity to anything you need and other area attractions. It’s also beachfront so there’s no busy street to cross and the beach is immaculately maintained, which is what we were looking for. We will definitely be back!

We’ve stayed here a few times as a multi-generational family. We’ve always rented a 3 bedroom, and have had good experiences each time. The best part about the place is the beach is accessible without crossing Seawall Blvd. I’ve only given 4 stars because I’d like to see more food and drink options besides vending machines. A cafe or bar would be a great addition! Something like that could easily be placed in the covered area by the pool.

We have been coming to the Galvestonian for over 30 years, first as a young couple and then with our grown children and grandchildren. This past visit was a real disappointment. We rented 2 separate condos (spent over $5k) and the rooms were very nice. A small overlooked maintenance issue with the one bedroom…upon arrival, the window shade in the living room was broken so it remained in the closed position until we were able to manually roll it up, with the help of the very prompt maintenance worker. The worker stated since the shades were under warranty, he was unable to fix it!? Our kids and grandchildren stayed in the beautiful 3 bedroom condo. The second morning we noticed the a/c was struggling to keep cool (72*). A maintenance worker came to the room and stated our a/c

We stayed in a B&B in the Seawall area. Walkable beach and promenade kept clean with public bathrooms avail, restaurants and shops nearby. Our dog was welcome on the beach but no where else. Parking beachside was tough, so we were glad we stayed close enough to walk. The ocean was not that turquoise sparkly blue that you expect at the golf, it was gray and blustery, even though it was hot and sunny. We loved the nearby museums, (see my reviews), and the free ferry at Port Bolivar. We also did a $10/pp dolphin tour of the harbor which was wonderful. We loved the restaurant variety, look for my reviews of those.
