The hotel was great, Every room faces the beach, just walk across the street. Staff was friendly and helpful with any question. I would stay again. Close to good places to eat and entertainment.. The hotel is always booked on the weekend, so get reservations early.

We have stayed here several times as has my daughter. Older hotel but rooms are clean and large. Every room has a view of the water and many have a view of the pier. All rooms have a small balcony. On the negative the elevator is noisy and slow. Might be time to upgrade. Breakfast is ok. Coffee is really...

Downside: this is an old hotel that could use some updates. Some rooms have tiny, half-size tubs with showers that are for people 4 ft & under, & a larger balcony while others have a smaller balcony but a larger bathroom. "Breakfast" consists of pre-packaged muffins or cereal. No access to rooms from lobby. Upside: Free OJ, sweet tea, coffee,...

The room was nice enough and reasonably clean and comfortable. Lots of parking and it was nice to be able to park there while on our cruise. No shuttle to the port. Wifi was terrible. Breakfast was pretty sparse. Staff at desk were not very accommodating but cleaning staff were very nice.

We intended on a peaceful retreat to the beach at Galveston, following business meetings in Houston. Booking the hotel on line with Expedia, we arrived mid-afternoon on a cooler breezy occasion. The booking was confir med and we first encountered a very noisy elevator which ground its way to the third floor. Our room was in need of maintenance/ He...

We arrived Saturday evening before our planned cruise. The decision to stay at the Commodore was easy: lots of nice places to eat within walking distance, right across the street from the beach and free parking while on the cruise. Although this is an older property, our rooms were clean and very adequate--an excellent value for the price! The personnel...

The location is spot on with a great view. The staff were very friendly. Even though it is an older hotel, the rooms were spotless and the beds were very comfortable. Good restaurants within walking distance. Great value.

I visit the island twice a year and love to stay at the Commodore. Definitely not fancy, but reasonable rates, clean and comfortable, and recently voted #2 best balcony view in Galveston. (#1 was pricey San Luis Resort). Someday I fear I'll hear, "They're tearing her down to build a highrise." But for now, Commodore on the Beach is my...

Rented a room here for a girls weekend for a friend's birthday. Clean room, great view and location. Close to dining, shopping, etc. No frills, but great value for the price. Staff were attentive and friendly.

Location is beautiful and the room adorable. No coffee in the room however there is 24/7 coffee service in the lobby. The room was also very clean. Continental breakfast isn't worth stopping for however Gumbo's restaurant is right next door. Would definitely stay here again.
