Hotel's Favourite
I needed to fly into Houston at last minute and be in the downtown area. So, I booked this hotel the day of my travel. I am familiar with Hampton Inns. So, this was an booking. Let me tell you, this is probably the nicest Hampton Inn I have ever stayed in. If it didn't say Hampton Inn, I would think this is a Hilton. Save your money from staying in the Hilton that's 1/4 mile away. Stay here instead. You get free breakfast too. The location is great because it's near the conference center, Minute Maid Park and where the Rockets play. I would stay here again and be just fine with it. This place is great!

This hotel is conveniently located near the convention center and if booked far enough out 1/3 the price of those hotels connected. You can even cut through the Marriott Marquis and get to the convention center if bad weather comes to town (and to avoid panhandlers). Short walk to Minute Maid Park and not a far walk to the Toyota Center.
Clean room and very quite. Stayed on 5th floor and was able to get to the room efficiently with little to no wait for the elevators.
Breakfast is ok. Stick with the fruit, smoothies (very good), and waffles. It was nice to see helpful smiling faces on employees in the morning when trying to decide what to eat.

I was not impressed with the parking. I was staying here for 5 nights and could either pick from the $20/night, park at your own risk lot across the street or the $29/day+ valet. I understand that this area would be more expensive but there was nothing going on in any of the 3 major venues the week I was staying here.
The bed are firm and uncomfortable. I would like to see them start using memory foam with varying densities in different rooms. A good night sleep is more important to me than any other amenity and I have not found a hotel I've been able to sleep comfortably in, this hotel was no different.

This hotel was awesome! I used the Hilton Honors app to do pre-check in which included getting to select our room. My son wanted to stay on an upper floor & we selected a corner room. It had an amazing view of downtown Houston. We went to the Astros game and the field was just two blocks away. Perfect for a night game. Even paying for valet parking, we saved money on game parking. The continental breakfast has hot items and was consistently stocked and refreshed even though we were were there in the last 30 minutes of breakfast. This was definitely the nicest hotel we stayed in of the six on our roadtrip!

We booked this hotel when coming into town to watch an Astros game. The hotel is only about 2 blocks from the stadium so location was extremely convenient. Staff was very friendly and professional. We had a sweet surprise gift for my 2 younger daughters in our checked luggage. We also really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. The provided hand sanitizer, masks and gloves to keep it as sanitary as possible. We would definitely return to this location.

This hotel was awesome. The location was perfect. We could walk plenty of places while also not being to far from things when we took an Uber. The hospitality team handle breakfast amazingly. They held guests accountable for wearing masks and sanitizing before going through the buffet. The rooms were clean and plenty of towels and wash clothes were available. Our ice machine on our floor didn’t work but the one below did. The pool was very nice and well kept. I overall enjoyed the stay and will stay again.

I chose this property because of pool availability and complementary breakfast. They’re not serving the buffet because of covid so there was bread, fruit, and oatmeal. There is no free parking. They tack on a $50 deposit and charge the valet to it if you use it. They pay lot across the street has terrible hours and I ended up paying a lot for only parking a few hours. Rooms were clean enough but the elevators smell like weed and the area around the hotel is a little sketchy.

So much to say here. I was charged a total of $1,600 to my credit card for a completely paid for room on ''accident''. They then took almost a week to credit it back after several conversations and false resolutions. The whole place was unprofessional and clueless. The halls smelled of sewer and the rooms were old. Shelves in bathroom falling off wall, random pill on the floor, brown marks on walls. The bed was springy and uncomfortable. I They provided 1 roll of toilet paper, you had to ask for more. The cleanliness was piss poor in general. No lighting in bedroom, very dark.
Positives: complimentary breakfast was good, they had potatoes and eggs and gravy and sausage, etc. The valet was quick and efficient. Conveniently locate to Minute Maid Park.
It's very hard to not be frustrated with a business that takes your money #1 but then to act cavalier about it and then take DAYS to return it is something that is unforgivable. I have never really been a Hilton fan, this sealed the deal.

Staff very friendly. Breakfast was ordinary. Convenience to Minute Maid park was excellent. Within walking distance. Be aware of valet charges on final bill. Ask for receipt. We got charged double for valet each night. Had to call several times to have charges removed. Told there was no other choice but valet $44/night. There’s a $20 parking lot across the street and free street parking (at your own risk)

The hotel is well located close to the CBD and older downtown area. It was clean and comfortable.
The breakfast wasn’t great. It’s self service with some average and poor food. You don’t even get proper crockery and cutlery, just paper and plastic.
I’d look for somewhere better next time.

Not that I am aware of.
Public transport in Houston downtown is not easy to navigate for a traveler. I love Trader Joe's also so I would take a ride share such as Lyft. The closest is close to downtown area, in area we call Midtown. About $10-15 ride depending on traffic. It is nice location, located with outdoors clothing store and book stores. Ross - I am not sure.
We have valet parking for $34.00 per night plus tax with unlimited in and out privileges. There are multiple open lots around the hotel and that are independently owned and operated with a variety of pricing options. Most if not all do not allow in and out privileges and the majority do not have a 24 hour option to pay. You would need to pay at entry and usually again by 5pm for the evening/overnight and then pay again around 7am or remove the car the next morning. Another tip is to check to make sure that there are not any special events at the time of your visit. Event parking in the lots has gone as high at $60.00 for the time of the event.
Best,
Josh D
Hampton inn downtown is a Hilton and very close to stadium. I highly recommend this hotel. It's attached to a Homewood Suites. They share same lobby.
