Hotel's Favourite
This is a great Embassy Suites, highly recommended if you are staying in downtown Houston for events at the convention center.
Warm and friendly staff in a nice hotel.
Quiet, comfortable room that worked great for my wife, son and me when we were in town for the First Tech Championships. One of the best Embassy breakfasts ever - great buffet line that was staffed (as opposed to everyone touching the food), great omelet station and plenty of staff. General manager was on the floor everyday and was very welcoming and responsive (asked for 1/2 and 1/2 for coffee and it appeared the next morning). Nice pool and workout room. Would definitely stay here again. Probably the best Embassy Suites of the many I have stayed at over the last 25 years.

We drove into Houston for a pre-planned visit just as the Stock Show and other large events were being cancelled due to the global health situation. The Embassy Suites Downtown was a pleasant oasis from the worry outside its doors. Any staff members we encountered during our overnight stay were calm, friendly, and professional. The beautifully-appointed hotel and our spacious suite were a good launching point for our day, as we walked five blocks to the rail line that dropped us off in front of the Museum of Fine Arts to view the works of Norman Rockwell. Guadalajara and the House of Blues were on the next block for dinner and entertainment, and the Phoenician Market next door was perfect for dessert and coffee.
The size of our vehicle exceeded the valet parking maximum requirements, so we used the paid parking lot that wraps around the hotel and borders the Discovery Green.
We will definitely consider staying at the Embassy Suites Downtown in the future.

The downtown Houston Embassy Suites is convenient for events at the Convention Center or Toyota Arena. I enjoyed being able to conveniently walk in the nearby park, plus experience daytime walks in downtown Houston. On of the best nearby attractions is the Phoenicia gourmet grocery. It's a don't miss! We've visited many Embassy Suites. This one has by far the best manager's receptions. More than just tortillas and queso! Interesting dips like black bean/corn salsa; french onion, gazpacho salsa; pita chips, kettle chips, fruits and veggies, and pigs in a blanket. Plus they varied it each night. Probably the biggest drawback to this location is the $38/night valet fee. There are nearby parking lots that only charge $10 to $18 a night. However, we went with the valet because we needed free ins and outs.

My husband is a diamond member, and we stay in Hilton’s all the time, we have stayed in other Hilton’s during this pandemic, and I have to say they are just not trying. We did get upgraded because of his status, but there was no room cleaning, no servicing the room at all. Every time you needed something, another towel, or a coffee cup or coffee for our multiple night stay, you had to go down the elevator, wait in the lobby, for them to get what you needed. No bringing it to your room, we asked! If they knew we were there for three nights, could they just leave extra towels, or extra coffee and cups? NO ! It’s all your problem now. Of course there was no breakfast buffet, but the grab and go was dismal, No selection, and I am gluten free so I am totally out of luck. For the evening reception , they could have had grab and go beers or wine in a cooler, and bagged chips, but instead, nothing. They didn’t even sell beer in the store. So after getting back from working at 8 pm, there are no options at this hotel.
Also, I must mention that the grab and go was a pre packed muffin ( can’t eat), a small granola bar, a piece of fruit, and a bottle of apple juice, or orange juice, neither of which we drink. We like a Diet Coke in the morning or coffee. You have to make coffee in your room, and we had 2 cups and 2 coffees for a three night stay, and we were charged for Diet Coke at breakfast. Seems the diamond status means little here.
The pool was not being maintained, the water was greenish and there were giant clumps of black hair floating on the surface. I mentioned the condition to an employee eating lunch by the pool, who told mr that no one was using the pool now, although it was “open”. No excuse for not maintaining it! Just want you to know what you are getting into when you stay here. Choose wisely.

Dear Becky M., Thank you for your feedback and for your husband's loyalty to the Hilton brand --- it is greatly appreciated! With the unprecedented circumstances surrounding COVID-19, we have made proactive decisions in which to keep our guests and associates as safe as possible including, but not limited to: less direct person-to-person contact, more frequent disinfecting of public spaces, and promoting social distancing throughout our entire hotel, just to name a few. I do apologize if these measures inconvenienced you. Our number one priority continues to be our guest's and team member's well being. If your travels bring you back to Houston, we hope you will consider giving us another try!

We recently stayed at the Embassy suites downtown Houston for the convenience of being next to the convention centre for a conference. To say our stay was disappointing would be generous as to how we felt about our stay here. The room itself was below par for many reasons and I will explain. The furniture was broken or damaged, the carpets were stained and dirty, the furniture was also stained and damaged, generally and very disrepair and not clean, this is not the standard I expect from Hilton Hotels when I stay in one of their luxury properties.
Not only was the room a disappointment but when I brought this to the desk service managers attention I was talked over and more or less dismissed and told that the hotel was up to Hilton standards. Anything I had to say further was simply brushed off and ignored. The tables and facilities in the eating area reception area are all Sticky from overuse and again disrepair.
Let’s start off for first morning at 5:30 AM being woken up by banging and crashing from the construction next-door the continued at a high rate until 9:30 AM that morning not a good start, let’s continue throughout our trip.
The outstanding view of the East Park that we are supposed to have had, we will add a picture so you can see that, it is of a construction wall and construction. Park view rooms are still available on the website, but in reality it does not exist because of all the construction. As far as using the pool goes it is unusable because of the construction right next to it. .noise and the complete lack of privacy or safety in the pool area.
I think Hilton Hotels could do them selves a favour and do some very quick renovations and repairs in this property even though the guest service manager told us it was in this disrepair because it was used as a housing facility during Covid I think most of that is over and these repairs could’ve been made. The other thing that’s disturbing just trying to get any kind of housekeeping services over the three days we were there was nonexistent or ignored. As I was there was several hundred other people who I spoke about this with the convention and agreed this was definitely one of the down sides of this trip.

Bedding was OBVIOUSLY not changed between guests. Unsanitary health hazard. Guest services gave me new bedding and the room was going to be cleaned and sanitized however the new pillows also had blood stains on them. Does anyone inspect the sheets before they are taken to the rooms? I did not get a phone call from the hotel manager nor did I get an invitation to discuss how service can be improved to maintain a healthy environment for guests. A sticker is posted on the mirror of the room that says all rooms are clean and inspected to provide the best and healthiest room for the guests however; I believe this is simply "lip service" as it is evident from the attached photos.
The only thing that was good was the breakfast, breakfast staff, evening reception and staff, valet, and desk clerk when I complained.

Pros:
Close to the convention center
Big rooms
Great happy hour (complimentary 5:30-7:30)
Key on phone
Cons:
Outside noises are easily heard
Parking is pricy
Check in Is super easy. If you download the Hilton app, you can check in on the app and you will know when your room is ready. They also have keyless entry. You use your app to open your room door.
The room was big. It had a separate living area. Had a small area where they had a coffee maker, microwave, fridge, and sink. The restroom was big. The shower had good pressure and hot water. The sink’s cold water had low pressure. The bed was excellent. Nice and comfortable. The AC worked OK.
Breakfast was great. They had made to order eggs. They also had other hot items such as French toast, bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes. They also had cold items as cereal and fruit. They have an evening reception where they have snacks and drinks. The reception is from 5:30 to 7:30.
I will say that you can hear the street noise from the room. I was on the seventh floor, room 703, and I could hear all the hustle and bustle downstairs. I could also hear some of the hallway noise. When anyone close the door, my bed move slightly.
They have valet parking.
The location is great. Right next to discovery green. It is also about a 7-10 min walk to the George Brown convention center. There’s plenty of restaurants nearby. There’s a grocery store less than 5 minutes away.

We stayed here for a 30th birthday and it was underwhelming. The concierge‘s did not have any carts available at check in or check out, and the valet was slow and slightly rude. We were charged for an extra drink at dinner and never received the replacement drink that was supposed to be sent to our room. While the food was pretty good, the drinks were excellent! The view of the park was great, however the room was quite hot even with the AC turned all the way down. Be warned of the water pressure on the sinks, it comes out fast and in a spray setting! We were not prepared for that hah. Not horrible time, but also not an outstanding stay. I do not think that I was worth the price nor did I feel is a Hilton honors member that I was being recognized.

Location to downtown Houston was excellent across the road from Toyota Center and 5-10 minute walk to convention center and minute maid park ( we went to our first ever baseball game and it was so convenient ) , room size is more than adequate for 3 adults . Breakfast area never felt too busy and the evening reception was the best of the three Embassy suites we stayed in on this trip .
Nothing specific against this hotel but it was the third ES we stayed in between 3rd and 15th of August 2023 and the breakfast and evening reception got a little bit repetitive ( Houston had the best and varied evening reception ) . Rooms have a little bit of a 70s vibe

My wife and I stayed overnight for a concert at Toyota Center and could not have been more pleased with our stay at Embassy Suites Houston Downtown. The location was perfect as we simply walked half a block to the event center, saving us travel and parking issues. Then, the hotel was comfortable in all ways. We appreciated room service as well as the complimentary breakfast, too.

Thank you for choosing the Embassy Suites Hotel. Yes we do have a laundry onsite. It is coin operated. (quarters only)
This Embassy does not have free parking. They only have valet parking and is going to cost you 48 dollars per night. I don’t know if you can check in early….
The air is not shared in the rooms. It’s has automatic shut off if no movement in the room.
