Detailed Reviews
I gave it four stars not because it is a four star motel but more for the bang for your buck. Yes. The decor is funky, tacky and 70ish..the shower drips and sometimes the toilet runs for no reason. The room comes equipped with a small fridge, a decent size freezer, microwave and coffee maker. Tub and shower are old, water pressure low.The room was very clean and the white sheets were very white. My only complaint is the heavy smell of bleach on the bedding, but I guess that's better than germs or human excrement. Yes windows are plexiglass...made me feel safe. I just loved the homey feel of the lobby and kitchen. Continental breakfast consist of cereal, waffles..which you make and doughnuts. The coffee was fresh....this is way more than I got at the Wyndham (not even coffee ) for 200.00 a night. There is a shuttle that will take and pick you up at the medical center. I used this service and found them to be polite and on time. I have to go to MD Anderson every three months from hawaii. So far I have found Carefree INN the best value for my money if all you need is a room and shuttle.

This hotel although not a 5 star hotel was quite comfortable and the person who cleaned it when I was gone did a thorough job. Everything in it's place. The decor, however, needs some updating but for the price it was fine. I would probably stay there again should I have to go to Houston.

I had a great time staying at Carefree Inn and whenever I will go back to Houston again, I will definitely be staying with the again. The rooms are very nice and clean, a King Bed, Flat Screen TV, a good size table were I do paper works, high speed internet, free continental breakfast and a nice kitchen that you can use if ever you want to cook your own food.and more. Whataburger, Taco Bell, Golden Coral are of walking distance. The Staffs, especially the manager are very nice, very accommodating and professional. I definitely recommend this Hotel/ Inn to everyone, free hotel shuttle to those who needs to go to Texas Medical Center and back.

Hotwire.com hides the name of this property in their search as a “hot rate” 3 star property. In fact it’s anything but!
Trust me when I tell you this. The rating for this place should be below sub zero & that might be too high. As a Houston resident familiar with the hotel, it’s amenities are not up to snuff to compare with a 3 star hotel. The owner Mohammed will not answer his phone to discuss refunding your money once the scam is revealed to you nor will Hotwire cooperate. On top of that they want a $100 deposit. (What in the place is $100 bucks?
Places like this scam people forcing the visiting out of towers to stay or lose their $50-60 bucks (which is the only way they can make money).
The people who do enjoy it there are the drug dealers & pimps who can turn tricks.
They have occupancy challenges bc of their history and the delapedation of the place. Do yourself a favor and go to the Candlewood Suites behind it or Residence Inn nearby.
A 3 star hotel....yeah right 😆

We were all booked for Houston Stock Show Mths in advance. We drove from Dallas when we got to Houston we were told they canceled our reservation mind you we made it mths in advance we were told they were out of rooms. I was not to mad to be honest because when we pulled in there was a ton of meth and crackheads walking around. It was run down so I can assure you it’s not the rooms in the pics. Don’t stay here either you get robbed or catch something you can’t wash off with gasoline.

I have a 90 minute drive to and from work. When I found myself falling asleep being the wheel, after daily 17 hour shifts, I went here to get a room. The front desk staff was understanding and charged me $50 to stay.5am-4pm. Now I stay there twice a week, just to rest. I love this place!!!! 4 star rooms and extremely nice staff. The woman daytime manager is my favorite. I have zero complaint and as an executive strongly recommend staying here. Plus, whataburger is right next door.

This was a standard roach motel for me. I stayed in Houston for 3 nights and paid 179$ after taxes and fees, so for 60$ a night it was a good deal money-wise. Location in the medical center is great - 10 mins from Rice Village, where I like to shop, and about 15 mins from the Galleria. WiFi was pretty slow but free at least. Complimentary continental breakfast is literally just cereal and bread. They had some batter in the fridge for waffles but not much more. If you're staying multiple nights and want to save money but also be close to a lot of Houston attractions, this is a fair choice. If you want quality/luxury, definitely spend a few more bucks. You get what you pay for!

I was in town for Medical Examinations I needed at MD Anderson, traveled approximately 300+ miles. I checked in to the motel and I had the worst experience I've ever had. The motel is located on the bad side of town. I checked the room after I had registered and noticed that the door was not properly secure, I had a difficult time getting the lights on and the furniture was very outdated. I returned to the office not touching anything but the light switch and the door knob. I requested a refund as I didn't feel safe staying there. I was denied my request. I was told the manager was out of the country and their policy was strictly no refunds. I left the motel and got a room elsewhere. I contacted the manager-owner a week later, and the manager was very rude. She stated that it was my problem that I didn't feel safe and not hers. Said she would not give me a refund. Tried to explain to her that I was there for Medical reasons and that I had just gone in the room for about a minute. Manager insisted that that was my problem.

+1
This was by far the most disgusting and unsafe hotel experience I’ve ever had in my life. The hotel locks the door at 7:00 p.m. for, “the safety of the staff.” To be clear, the sun isn’t even set at that time... the room I was initially given was, gross, and obviously uncleared. I complained, and was give a room that was supposedly “clean,” yet had mysterious stains on the ground resembling blood. The neighborhood felt very unsafe. Multiple men walking around taking on their phones trying to find someone who was checked in... the outside area was dirty, unkept and old. I would absolutely never stay here. This place IS NOT SAFE for families or otherwise. Absolutely disgusting. On top of it all, they required a $100 security deposit... do not stay here, it is NOT worth it, even if it was free.
