Thoughtful customer service and genuine kindness sets Royal Sonesta Houston Galleria apart from its competition. Every single staff member provided us with the utmost care during our stay. This hotel property is clean and well care for. From a well stocked bar to the best PJs coffee...we felt spoiled and among the most hospitable staff. Front desk kindly printed out travel papers for us, and fresh towels were delivered promptly upon request. Breakfast was delicious (very good buffet, custom omelets and pancakes, and more). Roger M. especially went above and beyond to make our stay the most memorable ever. We wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Houston!

We were pleased we chose this hotel for our Houston stop over. The room was clean and fresh , plenty of towels in the bathroom. Comfortable bed, good lighting and an alarm clock with USB ports for devices - very handy. All kept spic and span by the excellent Doris from housekeeping.
As we had several commitments in Houston we were unable to make use of the restaurant / pool / spa.
During the evenings we spent some time in the bar and found the service excellent, in particular we were made very welcome by Noor who made helpful suggestions and was always smiling. At the bar there is a drinking water dispenser , useful as the city had a problem with drinking water pipe supply at the time we were there - now resolved.

Dear Jamilla, Doris is one of the many gems on our Royal Sonesta Housekeeping team and we are thrilled to find that she had your room perfectly detailed each and every day. What warms us most is learning that you found this same level of service throughout the hotel and your kind words regarding Noor and the rest of our team make us beam with pride. We appreciate you taking the time to share your wonderful feedback and we look forward to welcoming you time and again in the years ahead. Warm Regards, Peter Schreurs Director of Operations

Great location and price, but our room was sub par at best. I know we are operating Post Pandemic, but alot has gone by the wayside. The sink didn't drain well, there was a sewage-like smell coming from the bathroom and silverfish in the bathtub. The headboards were peeling and the "leather" from the headboard was in our bed. Lampshades in the common areas were cracked and needed replacement. As with most hotels right now, there is no daily housekeeping unless you request it however, when we asked for a quick clean up, trash to be taken out, vacuum and fresh towels...it took calling twice to actually get someone there within a 5 hour period. They left us 2 towels (for 4 people) and about 8 sheets, which we didn't need or ask for. 2 rolls of TP and 2 boxes of Kleenex???? NO vacuum and 1/2 the trash was taken out. Valet parking was the only saving grace of this property, they did an excellent job.

Dear vanessagD8426OX, The comments shared by our guests provide us with great value and we thank you for taking the time to let us know of our best moments and where the experience could have been further enhanced. We will let our valet team know that their warm welcome and quick service captured your attention, and we appreciate you brightening their day. Your added feedback regarding the by-request housekeeping service is received with equal appreciation and we hope you can accept our apologies for the sub-par refresh of your room. We will use your feedback as a topic of conversation in our ongoing team coaching and we look forward to shining brighter the next time we see you. Until then. Warm regards, Arvin Missick Director of Operations

I had a disappointing experience with this hotel. It started with the hotel not listing its amenities accurately on Hotels.com. The listing stated that the hotel provides airport shuttle service (which has since been fixed). Imagine that, booking a hotel because it advertises a service that on the night of my arrival it refuses to honor. To make the matter right I had to do the manager Justin's job for him and show him the mistake because he apparently didn't believe me at check in. Fortunately Justin reimbursed my travel expense to the hotel and guaranteed that my ride back to the airport would be covered too. The stay after the check in debacle was OK: the room is clean, atmosphere looks nice. At check out, the assistant manager Ana denied to reimburse my airport transportation expense because "the manager [Justin] left a clear message specifically staying only your arrival expense is to be reimbursed". Either the hotel is skilled at ripping off guests OR they are terrible at communication! Half a day later, Justin followed up to reimburse the transportation. Overall, the stay just wasn't worth fighting tooth and nail for the hotel to act honorably. Save yourself a headache and book elsewhere!

Dear gregd558, Greetings from all of us in Houston and thank you for taking the time to share your impressions. We were delighted to serve as your home-away-from-home and we are pleased to read of the gestures provided by Justin. We understand that the information provided on the third-party site was mistaken and as your review notes, our team had become aware of this prior to your visit and had the details quickly resolved. While we do offer complimentary shuttle service within a three-mile radius of the hotel, there appeared to be a misunderstanding that this shuttle provided service to the airport. We once again regret that this impacted your visit and our entire team looks forward to providing a more treasured Galleria experience the next time your travels bring you our way. If I can assist in planning your return, or should you wish to speak further about your most recent visit, I invite you to be in touch. Warm Regards, Peter Schreurs Director of Operations pschreurs@sonesta.com

Come on! Where are all the good reviews coming from? We are in a pandemic. I checked into the room and what do I see when I open the door- a crumpled up blanket near the TV and a bathroom totally and completely not cleaned up from the previous person complete with gross smudges and toothpaste on the countertops and trash in the basket. When I went back to the desk, the person assured me that the hotel “would never do such a thing on purpose” although I don’t see how this makes it any better. The second room was marginally better, although I still saw gross black hair clump in the shower. Even for Houston, the standard is simply too low. Don’t waste your time at S(tain)esta!

Dear Paulina_lip, Greetings from all of us in the Galleria and thank you for joining us during your recent Houston visit. As your comments note, our best effort was not on display and we apologize again for this isolated incident. Regrettably, a data entry error within our computer systems led our front desk team to believe that the room you were assigned was prepared to greet an arriving guest and we fully agree that this was not the case. We thank you for allowing us to provide a personal apology, though we are sorry to find that the gestures provided by our management team did not result in us winning your seal of approval. On behalf of all of us, we thank you again for joining us and we look forward to impressing even more the next time we see you. All the best, Peter Schreurs Director of Operations

Royal Sonesta Houston Galleria was one of many hotels contracted for a national church youth conference. We had a group of 12 (9 youth + 3 adults) stay here. Our rooms were clean and well-maintained. We opted out of housekeeping during our six-night stay, but the hotel was very accommodating by bringing more towels when we needed them.

I guaranteed a reservation with credit card only to find out the swimming pool was to be reopened end of May. After contacting the property and holding fir at least 5 minutes for the front desk, was told the pool would reopen late June possibly July. Response with a request to cancel the reservation and was transferred to reservations. The reservations attendant advised the pool would reopen prior to my arrival in a week and when I challenged her with what the front desk had advised, was out on hold for another 7 minutes. To Sonesta Management, I’ll never stay with you again as your staff is poorly trained and clearly uninformed. Perhaps a staff meeting to discuss swimming pool renovations during the summer completion would avoid future confusion?

This is the 3rd time I've stayed at this hotel. Service is still outstanding. There was an issue with my room and the manager upgraded me to another room immediately. The room was very clean. They are not providing daily housekeeping unless you request it (because of COVID). Bar restaurant is still great. Nice, relaxing area, small menu but the food is very good (especially the skirt steak) and the wait staff are friendly and very accommodating. There is self parking for $30 a night which I think is very expensive. Pool is small but relaxing. The gym is big, clean and very nice.

This beautiful hotel is centrally located in the heart of Houston with scenic views of downtown. It is quite far from the airport so plan ahead if you are on a time crunch. The rooms are comfortable and really quiet but the elevators all squeak and rattle back and forth whenever in use. The shower has Plenty of hot water but seems to lack a cooler setting so as not to scald yourself when in the bathroom. All in all I would come back if ever in Texas again.
