My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary "staycation" as we live in the greater Houston area. I am a Hilton Gold member so I had a few from which to choose downtown. We chose the Sam Houston due to its small size and boutique quality and we were not disappointed! The room was beautifully appointed, the views were...

I had not been to Houston in a long time and wanted to stay downtown and happened upon the Curio Sam Houston. It was a really convenient location and was close to some nice bars and restaurants. I had a car that was well taken care of by the valet service and was very convenient to drop off and pick...

Stayed 4 nites on business as was close to my office. Usually stay at Magnolia but they've recently been bought and no longer offer complimentary breakfast or happy hour drinks. Room was clean and ok but thermostat didn't allow heat to work. only fan worked. Room got quite chilly for 2 of the 4 nites. Hotel is undergoing remodel, esp....

The staff is friendly, it is close to fun activities and food and the room was great. Clean bed and bathroom. Valet parking only but worth it in a downtown setting. Have a convenient shuttle to nearby locations.

Weekend rates are reasonable, except for very expensive valet parking, since there is no self parking. Started one night for a Jones Hall show, easy walking access to the Theater District. We didn't have any meals at the hotel.

I love the Sam Houston. Before moving to the area, I would travel often to Houston for work. I always tried to stay at the Sam Houston. It's a renovated, boutique style hotel with modern amenities and a stylish vibe. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are spacious, some with larger soaking tubs. But the best part of...

As a highpoint all of my interactions with the staff on my short stay were great. The room was tiny which doesn't bother me a ton but for some people could be a deal breaker. I believe the bed was a queen. Strange things though: there were Keurig cups and coffee cup lids but no keurig machine or coffee cups???...

Upon arrival my greeting was below par, perhaps judged by the way we seemed frazzled, or the way our attire was. We had just endured a 6 hour non-stop drive, and had endured many close calls on the way in (almost car accident). My key of the two rooms I reserved did not work, frustrating when this happens. However the...

Spent a great Friday night at The Sam. Throughly enjoyed the room. Stayed in a King Deluxe which had great linens, comfortable bed and pillows and wonderful bathroom. Their bar/restaurant was apparently under some renovation so the experience was a little incomplete. Be careful ordering room service. A delivery charge and large tip built in.
