I was there for the Houston Marathon… I suggest they update their outside hotel sign which only says “The Sam” I would have missed the hotel if it wasn’t for my slow driving and Google Maps telling me I had arrived. I used their Valet Parking since there wasn’t any near-by parking and the Valet was convenient. All of the...

This hotel is a bit quirky - not sure if that's because it's supposed to be quirky or because it's in Texas. But the staff are excellent - very friendly and helpful. And the free downtown shuttle is useful. My room was modern, large and well appointed. And quiet. The only downside was that there was some renovation going on...

Checked in easily, good location a bit off main street. Rooms are pretty nice, clearly an old building though. Price was low for once so thought I try it over my usual Hilton and Marriott choices. Lots of restaurants super close. Might be better for a date night than a business trip though.

Delightful greeting and service. Front desk gave a great recommendation for a nearby restaurant and then a driver to take us comfortably there and pick us up after. Rooms are medium size but very well appointed. Comfy bed. Awesome shower. No doubt where I'll stay on my next trip to Houston.

I only stayed one night, but I really enjoyed it. The room was lovely, comfortable, and spacious, not at all small as other reviewers commented. My only issue with the room was the bathroom had one of those sinks that looks like a big soup platter, which were trendy a few years ago. It was shallow and the water splattered...

The Rooms are nice but definitely on the smaller side. Lobby is beautiful but restaurant is under construction. Heater/AC in the room made a constant loud noise. Valet guy did not put my car in their system so they struggled to find my car. The worst part and the reason I will never return to this property is the amount...

Wonderful, renovated historic hotel in the heart of downtown Houston! Near Toyota Stadium, restaurants, and the train that goes directly to the Arts district. Very clean, sleek, modern King Deluxe room.

I spent the night here for NYE! The valet and staff were all incredibly helpful and the rooms are very spacious and clean. The rooms at the Sam Houston are much larger than most of the other hotels in the area. I would definitely recommend staying here.

The room is absolutely fantastic. However, I would stay away from ordering dinner or breakfast. Service is atrocious as you will wait over 30 minutes for your food and it will come out cold. The hotel itself is beautiful and will be much better once the service side is fixed.

The hotel was a great experience overall. The front desk repressentive was amazing a "beautiful young lady" who worked Christmas Day was friendly also gave us information on places to eat and see. The valet parking was quick and easy that I didn't mind tipping for there services although they are parking your vehicle on the side of the Hotel...
