The Hyatt Regency Houston Downtown is a well-regarded option for both business and leisure stays, with a plethora of amenities and a prime central location that guests appreciate for its convenience to downtown attractions. While the hotel's atmosphere is often described as comfortable and welcoming with a professional staff, some guests feel the decor could use updating.
The spacious and clean rooms receive praise, though opinions on value are mixed due to higher prices and additional fees. Despite occasional slow service, the majority of guests commend the attentive and friendly staff.

Detailed Reviews
The Houston Hyatt was withing a 10 minute walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go. Everything I asked for was provided for me and the room was spotless! Housekeeping ladies were very friendly, and the evening Bartender/Waiter at Shulas on February 15th was incredibly nice and helpful. My only problem staying here was the Einstein Bros in the hotel, service was a bit unwelcoming and products were overpriced for the quality. Avoiding that area on my next visit but overall had a lovely stay for my fiance and I anniversary 💕

The service with Hyatt Regency Houston was beyond what I expected and exactly what I needed during my stay in the beginning of the Covid-19 delimma that has effected the entire nation. My event was cancelled after I was there and they accomodated me beyond meausre. The staff was wonderul and the hotel was clean. I had water issues (not hot enough) in a room and they attempted to fix it to my need and when unable to do so without major disruption they moved me. They helped me through IT/ Internet issues for my virtual meetings, and ensured I was comfortable and safe by cleaning the hotel lobby and elevators consistently throughout the day. If I return to Houston I will most certianly book with them. The have great restaraunts, and staff, as well as a good location.

I attended a conference during this time as a solo traveler and ultimately enjoyed my trip to Houston. What I will say is that there are more attractions and food options near The Galleria Mall from what I observed. I was welcomed as a World of Hyatt member but wasn't given details on what my access included and it wasn't written on any of the two room keys I was given compared to what another attendee showed and told me of when she checked in. I called room service to request service and no one came during the day I requested so I had to call back. The next time the room service had to come back as I was sleeping and put the "do not disturb" sign and that was respected which I valued. When the room service did return it was past the available time I stated (9a-1p, they came after 2pm after I called the front desk). The room service seemed to have an attitude as she made a comment about the sheets having a food stain as she passed me which I knew about which is why I called room service the day before, and was also unnecessary but I was very respectful as I respect what service workers go through. There was a hard, small, brown solid clump on the floor that I unfortunately felt barefoot near the desk and bed which could have been fecal matter from a previous guest so I quickly went to shower for a long time as that was unpleasant. I don't believe it was cleaned after room service because the woman was quite fast but my sheets and bathroom were cleaned. The lights were dim throughout and an engineer who came to fix something in the bathroom pointed it out and fixed it for me. The peephole cover fell off after I checked outside after hearing a loud bang near my door. My bed was extremely comfortable but didn't smell super clean when I checked in so I used a bed sheet and pillowcase I brought from home to lay over the bed; the bed was comfortable though. The alarm/clock/radio's alarm function didn't work and that alongside other factors with my phone caused me to miss my flight even after setting the radio's alarm as a backup and luckily I was rebooked for the next available flight and was able to check out and wait for an uber to the airport. Overall I give the hotel a 3/5 with my experience. The pool wasn't cleaned and there were leaves and debris floating in the pool which threw off other event attendees. The elevators took a long time at times to arrive and I believe the hotel gives the impression of being modern but may need renovation.

+1
I left a note for housekeeping & asked for more tea bags & cup lids. When I came back from our day of meetings they’d left a spread of any tea compliments you could imagine (honey, lemon, stirrers, etc)!
The room was very comfortable. However, I will say the atrium got vey loud early Sunday morning; it seemed the sound from the bar gathering down had carried up several floors. They had left ear plugs in the nightstand to address that very issue.
Dinner in the area on a per diem budget was a bit of a challenge but not completely in their control. There’s an Einstein’s Bagels on site & a pizza/Italian restaurant nearby that are both good options.

Came as part of a vaca and to go to a convention. You pay so much for a hotel and when tv doesn’t work for the four days you are there and nobody tells you at checkin. We were told we’d be comped movies… which the movies we picked were disabled by the front desk. We requested toiletries and they kept bringing the wrong stuff. Room service was not done daily so you’d think they could get the toiletries to you correctly. Overall, for the price you pay, you have high expectations and none were met. I’ve stayed at Hyatts before and the location in downtown Houston on Louisiana is NOT up to par.

Pros: It is in a good area of Houston so the uber prices were very decently priced; the Einsteins in the restaurant was delicious (try the pizza bagel!), the front desk associates were lovely as well! The meeting room spaces are beautiful as well and very spacious. If you are in the area for a conference, this is a great spot to have the meetings at. Leroy the engineer was very nice as well. He checked on me twice when he seen me and he was such a friendly guy.
Cons: if you want to check in early, they will charge you a $29 arrival fee. I think this is an inconvenience especially for college students when they have early flights. Nobody at the front desk did not let us know about the construction that was going on, and while myself and my roommate were trying to take a nap, there was a lot of noise outside of our window that was very distracting. Also the curtain in the room had stains on them as well, which was very nasty. The first night, the bath stopper wasn't working either. The elevator (I understand its a business hotel), but it would always skip the 9th floor and walking to the 3rd floor or the lobby in heels from the 9th floor is not fun at all -___- its a big inconvenience.
Overall, it was a pretty okay stay.

This was our first time back at the Hyatt regency downtown since Covid. The hotel has been nicely renovated and the customer service is outstanding. We were there for a dance competition and I did online mobile check in with keyless mobile entry. It was nice going straight to our room. Our room was ready at 8am! The lobby bar and Einstein’s is open. The other restaurants in the hotel are not open, but the hotel made every effort to bring in outside food vendors to sell food. They also did a nice job with sanitizing stations everywhere and bathrooms and elevators were cleaned every two hours. We enjoyed our stay

I used to stay here often on business and love this hotel’s quietness, cleanliness and accessibility. But a lot has seen to changed. The portion of downtown was almost too quiet although it was nice to have a Benihana and pizza shop next door. Be prepared to drive to the main attractions and parks in area. $45 valet parking which is absurd but given the times not unexpected. The staff was very courteous and responsive to our room service requests as well as housekeeping. The hotel was very quiet so we were able to take advantage of the pool area. One thing that I certainly missed was the restaurant on top floor that would do around-the-clock rotations and offer tremendous views. Apparently they closed this during pandemic along with Steakhouse on bottom floor.

My mom and sisters had a great time! It started with Nick Torres being such a gentleman helping us bring our bags up to our room and giving us recommendations for brunch the next morning. We also had a corner room which made it extra spacious for the four of us. Room was clean & cool and we all enjoyed it! The shower was hot, made me feel tall (because the shower head was a little lower), and the water pressure was legit. There was no noise disturbance and when calling for extra towels they brought them up very quickly. Overall, great experience and the next time we come to Houston for “Broadway on tour,” we’ll definitely stay at the Hyatt Regency again!

Even in the unexpected circumstance of a water main break in Houston the day before our arrival, Hyatt had a plan in place to continue their level of service and guest experiences. We were relieved to know that our needs would still be met and we would not have to cancel our stay. This Hyatt is very comfortable with large groups and does an outstanding job of accommodating every need. Perfect location for all things downtown, and still very quiet and relaxing.

Hello! They have valet parking, or you may parking their parking garage. There is also street parking nearby.
Was not open when we were there in early January
There are hotel bars, bars in the tunnel system and many bars & clubs in the walking area.
It was for me based off my membership. I am sure there are some room packages that include it. If not there is a bagel place with coffee in hotel and as others have said McDonald’s and other places right in the area as well.
