At the Hyatt Regency Houston West, opinions vary, with guests charmed by the lobby's koi pond and indoor river, yet some find room amenities lacking and outdated. Cleanliness is generally appreciated, especially in the common areas, though housekeeping can be hit-or-miss.
The location receives mixed reviews, some finding it convenient, others less impressed. Additionally, guests have called out the hotel for overpriced extras and inconsistent service, which detracts from its inviting atmosphere and the overall value perceived.

Beautiful property.. great location in West Houston. Front desk took great care of us! Nice clean room. Only issue we had was the shower water only being luke-warm early in the morning when we left. Overall, a great stay!!!!!!

The lobby is newly refurbished, and the bar area is nice, with excellent food. The restaurant itself was not open, likely due to COVID and low occupancy this week. The guest rooms are comparable in comfort and amenities to other large chain hotels in the area, although the bathrooms are somewhat worn (specifically the shower tile and bathtub fixtures, which are original and probably date to the early 1980s. Paint, bed linens and electrical accessories (outlets, USB, and TV) are up to date (which is better than many neighboring options!

So let me preface by saying that I love the Hyatt Hotels above the other US Chains so I was a little disappointed in this one. I saw this hotel on the Hyatt website and saw the word "new"and thought oh great this is a new hotel so let me book it. My mistake LOL.. new doesn't necessarily mean that the property is a new hotel but otherwise its new to the Hyatt Chain. This is a very old and dated Hotel, with renovation it will be lovely, just not now. The hotel is located in a quiet section in the Energy Corridor and surrounded by an abundance of restaurants and shopping, with City Centre just minutes away. EVERYTHING is dated from the decor, the carpet, to the Elevators in which only 2 of 3 worked during our stay which was a nuisance during peak times. The rooms have old carpet, bathroom is dated, cracks in the ceiling with a moldy green color which indicated some previous leaking, and both the air vents and toilet was noisy. With that being said, I thought the location was great, free parking, not far from downtown Houston, and right off the Interstate 10. I will mention also that the internet connectivity did not work for me and I needed to work from this hotel. They have a public wifi where you don't need to authenticate with your room number and name so basically a free for all. Not sure if this was the issue for poor connectivity but I could not get a stable internet connection to save my life, I even tried my hotspot and nothing worked. I tried to ask the young man at the desk for help, trying to see if he could give me access to a secured connection but he didn't want to help. Matter of fact, I think I interrupted him surfing on his phone so he was too busy to help me with other options. Frankly, he made me feel that he didn't care about my internet issues and basically told me to use an hotspot after which I explained I had tried that. Eventually, I had to drive to Starbucks 10 miles away to work. Hyatts from my experience have always provided secured wifi and business areas for customers. This Hyatt missed the mark, can't say I will ever stay here again unless improvements are made.

Lovely hotel, beautiful lobby with Koi fish (you can feed them with food from reception). Rooms are still very 80s and could use an update (soundproofing is not good - I could hear next door loudly talking, but thankfully it’s a business hotel so only really noisy at weekends). but do have new huge TVs with chromecast. Aircon is a bit old and noisy but adequate as is the bathroom (takes a bit for the hot water in the morning, shower over bath etc)
Pool was lovely and in the sun most of the day unlike the Hyatt Houston Downtown where you are in shade after 2pm. Green grass and water round the area so feels very relaxing. Pool party on Saturday with a band which was fun. Gym was small but functional and quiet.
The best thing about this hotel was the staff. Luis in the bar was great,he has been there pretty much since the place opened and clearly loves his job. Haisnan and Chris at front desk were so accommodating - nothing was too much trouble. The ladies in the shop seemed genuinely pleased to see customers, as did the lady greeter at breakfast. Breakfast staff were great with my allergies too - actually I could call out every staff member I spoke to, they were all great.

This is my 4th time staying here now, and I really enjoy staying here. The staff is so nice and accommodating. I was having trouble with my chrome cast and within 5 minutes someone was in my room fixing the problem. I also noticed each visit that if bar staff or wait staff get busy, the phone rings and Chris, the manager, shows up to help EVERY TIME which shows how much he cares about his staff and the customer's experience as well. You can tell people enjoy working here and it makes me want to stay here more often. Hasnain, the front desk manager always checks with me to make sure my room is okay when I check in too, which is really nice and definitely goes above and beyond by remembering my name during my stay.

My hotel experience here was impeccable. I drove here in my u-haul and arrived at 12:30AM.
To start, the parking security attendant was extremely helpful. He told us where to park and we felt so comfortable with leaving our belongings in the truck while we slept.
The hotel was absolutely GORGEOUS!!! There was a Koi Pond in the middle of the lobby. When you walk up the fish swim right up to you!! They have feeding hours where they will give you free fish food to feed the fish. It’s an amazing experience.
The front desk attendant at 12:30AM was so kind and informative. He was very helpful. Even tho the snacks stands were closed, he made some great recommendations for how we could get something to eat.
Breakfast is not included but their breakfast restaurant is worth it. You have a beautiful view of the Koi Pond while you eat. Our server was so nice and the food came out fast.
Our room was so comfortable! The bed was so great I did not want to wake up. The towels are so soft and the soap is infused with essential oils. I felt like a million bucks after a night of rest here.
10/10 I will book here any time I come to Houston.

It's the little things that separate good from excellent. For example, thick carpeting in the hallway to dampen noise. Or smooth rolling wheels on carts so they don't squeak or pull against you as you try to navigate down the hall.
This Hyatt does those little things. The room was immaculate. Tile floors in the bath sparkled. Thick, soft towels and linens on a comfortable bed.
But then, we had a plumbing issue. If guests don't report the problem, how can management fix it? Unfortunately, it happened late at night. And first thing in the morning I got a call from a manager apologizing. Next thing I know, we're upgraded to a suite and a night off my stay was credited. That's customer service.
This Hyatt has an excellent restaurant. A coffee/snack bar open from 7a-7p. Plenty of parking and access to freeways to get you around in Houston. The staff is friendly. Check in was ez. Oh, and they're pet friendly. Right down to water bowls and a treat jar in the lobby.
Seriously, what's not to love?

I needed to stay out Houston West way, and being a Hyatt Globalist chose the Regency which appeared to be the best Hyatt in the vacinity. In fairness, this is a Hyatt category 2 property so you can't expect a lot for the price point.
On the positive the lobby is decent, and my favorite part of the hotel is the Koi Fish which gives a tranquil feel. The gym has a decent amount of equipment. The pool gets great sunlight and is a decent size - but nothing special in terms of a hotel pool.
Breakfast day one was great - a good selection on the menu, good quality. Day two I was informed only the buffet is available - the selection was exceptionally poor and not one part of it looked appealing. Even though breakfast was included with my stay, for the rest of the trip I went to a cafe downtown to have a consistent breakfast experience and to not wonder if it is buffet only day.
Overall this hotel needs an update. I stayed in a junior suite which felt dirty and outdated. All fixtures and fittings are old, the sofas looked dated and unhygienic.
The price point of this hotel is low, so again you can't expect too much. But if you are looking for a hotel nice experience you want to look elsewhere.

Hotel decor was very pleasing with beautiful in-house stream, fish greet you.
Confusing Housekeeping: Used towels & toiletries will be replenished but the bed won't get made. I truly understand not changing sheets, but to not make the bed was a mind blower for me. Garbage was emptied daily but there was no vacuuming during my visit. Shower water pressure was too strong - felt like hail. No refrigerator in the room and there was shortage when one was requested. Minor disappointments for me.

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights for a wedding event. The lobby of the hotel is excellent. It is huge with water feature and Koi fish. However, the rooms are very outdated. There is no proper light, the carpet is very old and amenities are not great. The bathroom door could not be locked from inside. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom. We talked to other friends who stayed at the same hotel and they said that their bathroom door also did not lock from inside. The elevators are very slow so get the room on lower floor if possible. The signage to the hotel entrance is not prominent. People usually enter the lobby through garage. Considering the price per night ($200+), the rooms are not worth it.
