Piss poor place to stay. When you choose a comfort suite you expect certain quality. Room phone doesn't work to call the front desk to tell them there is no remote for the TV. Walk to front desk and was told there was a remote in the room that morning. Got a remote and turned on TV. No signal from cable. Not all the lights work in the room.

Unfortunately, I did not stay. Overall the property is old and unkept. The parking lot was dirty, and the landscaping had not been tended to in a long time. The lobby smells damp and musty- with an undertone of urine. I checked in. Once I went to my room, the bathroom had not been cleaned- I will not go into detail of what unclean is as not to make the reader sick. I picked up my bag, and went downstairs to get a refund. I asked the afternoon clerk for a refund. She did not ask why. She began checking me out. I told her the bathroom had not been cleaned. She smirked. A smile- I kid you not. No apology, no empathy- absolutely no sense of urgency to, "make things right". As she was checking me out, I asked, does anyone look at the rooms after they have been cleaned? Her response, "we only had 2 housekeepers today- and 1 is new". Again, no sense of acknowledging or owning any of the problem. I asked for a receipt of the refund, and she said she didn't have one- nor could print one, which I find extremely hard to believe. As a seasoned traveler- please do not stay here.

Imagine my surprise to have reserved a double queen room on my credit card, then come in at 9 p.m. and they didn't have any! Felt like Jerry Seinfeld in that episode about the rental car ... "You know how to take the reservation, you just don't know how to HOLD the reservation ... and that's really the most important part of the reservation, the HOLDING." So they gave us 2 kings for the same price instead, which was a little weird for our family of 4, but worked ... Pool is closed for "annual maintenance" or something ... Makes me wonder why they'd choose to do annual maintenance in mid-July. I think there was only one employee in the hotel on a Saturday night, so she was very busy and couldn't bring bath towels when we discovered we didn't have any. We were planning to use the sleeper sofa, but changed our minds when we folded them out. Sleeper sofa in both rooms were dirty and bowed such that they sink in the middle. We didn't let the kids take a bath because the bathtubs are too dirty. Windows are too dirty to look out of, and the screens look like they're going to fall off. Got up in the night because it started raining ... It was so loud I thought it was hail, and made me wonder what the roof is made of ...? Anyway, I had a reservation for this same place on our way back, but I canceled it and will find a better place to stay.

Hotel was being painted on the exterior with noise of a gas power lift when we checked in at 12:30 in the morning! Hard to sleep when noise being made outside. Had to go to desk three times to get keys that worked for the room. If didn’t have tired kids would have gone to holiday inn next door after the issue with the keys and room condition, but with all luggage in the hallway we stayed the one night. Room paint was poor, stains on shower curtain, paint over spray on many surfaces, no sheets for sofa bed, furniture in poor condition, hangers in armoire didn’t match, and I could go on. This is issue of owner being cheap and not reinvesting in the property, very apparent this isn’t a “COVID issue” this is a poor owner prior to COVID. Corridor paint had poor painting with paint on door frames the wrong color, scratches on the doors, torn up furniture in lobby, and even bad paint behind front desk. Desk agent was friendly and tried her best with the poor hotel the owner provides. Quite disappointed in Choice Hotels International allowing hotel to be so poorly cared for. Sorry, No pictures…kids are sleeping while I’m just hoping to get to morning to find a different hotel. If traveling alone would have refused the room and demanded refund.

We have stayed more than 30 nights in hotels this year, most in Choice Hotel Properties, I am a Diamond Member. Normally we stay at Comfort Suites, which are more or less the flagship brand of the Choice Hotels group. This was by far the poorest Comfort Suites we've stayed in. We stayed here three nights, booked in advance. The Good: The room was clean, the HVAC unit worked, the bathroom was good, appeared to have been partly remodeled, we had daily room housekeeping, they had both hot breakfast and grab bags available for breakfast, the bed was comfortable, the front desk clerk tried but seemed very frustrated. The Bad: The first room we were assigned, was missing the hair dryer and only had one towel. I immediately returned to the front desk and the lady working there said she did not have any more hair dryers and would put us in a different room. The room she assigned us to was on the second floor and the elevator was in terrible condition, It was dirty and all scratched up, looked like an old freight elevator rather than a guest elevator. The room did have a hair dryer, but only one hand towel and three of the four of the lights by the bed (a lamp and reading light on each side) didn't work and several outlets didn't work. When I returned the keys to the first room, I asked for another hand towel and reported the non-functioning lights and outlets. The desk clerk sighed and said she was running out of rooms. I told her I did not want another room, just wanted a towel and asked her to report the electrical problems to maintenance, since we'd be staying three nights I'd like to have them fixed. She said she was the only person there but she'd let her GM know the next day and after searching her supply room, said they did not have any more hand towels. Nothing got fixed while we were there and the housekeeping service replaced our bath towels but only provided one hand towel each day we were there. The common areas were in disrepair and needed updating.
