The room was very clean and comfy. We had a ground floor room in the back Very quiet. The front desk was friendly. 2 women traveling alone we felt very safe. Also close to some fast food places to get a quick bite. This is a budget friendly place but well worth the money. Direct Tv is a plus.
As you read this & as you consider my rating, please understand that I am rating the Majestic Inn only within its hotel category, i.e., if I compared it to Hyatt Regency, the Majestic would not rate 1 out of 5, but that is hardly fair considering Hyatts can cost 5 times as much if not more. With this caveat in mind, I found this no frills motel to be clean, comfortable, & relatively quiet. Management was friendly enough but not overly so, but I had no complaints or requests that would test their customer service. The manager pointed out a convenient place on-site to park my 16' Penske truck that did not obstruct traffic. There are a number of security cameras on the exterior, & I felt that my loaded truck & I were safe. The room & bathroom were clean but the tub could use some recaulking. Water pressure from tub faucet was strong, but when I pulled the shower valve on, the pressure from the shower head was weak. The queen sized bed & pillows were clean & comfortable, & even though the pillows were not thick, I did get a good night's sleep. There was no shampoo, so bring your own (not a problem), but the hair dryer worked well as did lights & Direct TV with HBO (not expected for "no frills"). I didn't try the pool but it looked clean. There is coffee in the office in the AM with a honey bun available -- again no frills. There are plenty of restaurants within short driving distance & several within walking distance, although it looked like a couple of those were shuttered. Try Dudley's Cafe & read my review that I will author tomorrow; it is 2 blocks away, I walked there at night for take-out, & never felt threatened (only passed 3 people on the way there, but Americans west of the East Coast only drive instead of walking anyway). For $45 + tax, I definitely got my money's worth & do recommend the Majestic to a budget-minded traveler.…
Let me start with the lady that checked us in was very nice !! We got 2 king suites..they were Both Gross! Carpets and furniture (sofa, bed, box spring, chairs) were stained! So were the sheets and towels! There was blue sparkle finger nail polish on the table and the vanity. I wish I would have taken pics to show I'm not exaggerating but it was 2:00 am when we checked in and didn't think to take any. The AC blew Lukewarm in both rooms the whole time we were there. The beds were lumpy and so were the only 2 flat pillows in the room. I'm glad I packed shampoo cuz they don't supply any. And they have no coffee pot in the rooms. Needless to say we did not stay for the free breakfast 😕
Made the reservation on Booking.com and was on site in a couple of hours. We checked in and Booking.com took a $470 hit on my credit card; which is creepy since that website had nothing on the line why the hit on my card for a "deposit?" IMO this wonderful property has been victim of a creepy policy by the booking site; I can think of no reason for this hit except to hold million$ for interest gains. The staff is friendly, was disappointed that the booking site had done what they had done and apologized. The hotel is clean, recently renovated, quiet and comfortable. They provide a limited continental breakfast and great coffee.
You won't find a better hotel in the area for this low of a price (I think it came out to $46 with tax). It was clean, had a bath/shower, and is right next to the medical center (a big plus for anyone interviewing there). The parking lot is fenced in and it felt very safe. Downsides: there are only two stairwells, so if you have a far room upstairs then hope you don't have much luggage. Also, the walls are thin and noise carries readily. Overall, probably not a fun family vacation hotel, but definitely the perfect place if you're someone traveling for business on a budget. I would definitely stay there again.
