I couldn't believe this place when I walked in. It's simply enchanting and lovely, out there in the middle of Marathon (basically nowhere). The hotel is charmingly wonderful, everything about it is amazing. I would go back to Marathon just to stay here. It's a true getaway. The white buffalo bar was fabulous, the food and service at the restaurant...

Marathon's not much but The Gage Hotel lives up to all the kudos. Lovely grounds, great restaurant, comfy rooms. Beautiful pool area. A great luxury spot in the rough Big Bend area. Be sure to visit the Gage Gardens nearby. Settle in and enjoy!

West Texas was on our bucket list as was the Gage Hotel. It truly is an oasis in the desert. The grounds are breathtaking. It has a rustic feel but comfort and class are key. Don't miss the Gardens. It is so pretty. It even has a little pond and a putting green. We stayed in the historic part. The...

There's not much in Marathon. In fact the Gage hotel is about it. Fortunately it is worth the trip. Staff is lovely the rooms are beautiful. the restaurant and Bar are really very good. Just the most picturesque spot on your road trip through Texas.

We stayed here for 1 night in April while visiting the Big Bend NP. Although the hotel is beautiful, we don't recommend using it as a base for exploring the park due to location and price. Marathon is at least 1.25 hour drive from the park entrance, and the hotel is overpriced for what you get ($260 per night and...

Just got back from our stay. I can't say enough nice things about our accommodations, the staff or the food. Basically, the perfect place in the middle of nowhere. We stayed at the Captain Shepherd's House on the grounds and thought it was perfect! Loved not having a TV in the room and loved being able to go out on...

Enjoyed our stay here during our recent trip to the Big Bend Region. Beautiful grounds and gardens, including the 20 acre garden across the railroad tracks. Very peaceful grounds for early morning coffee. The rooms were clean and nicely appointed with eclectic decorations that vary from room to room. Staff was very professional and attentive.

Our last visit to the Gage was in 2004. Lots has changed in Marathon for the better, but the Gage is just as special as we remember. We enjoyed our casita #25 and so did our Labrador retriever. Great place to sit on the veranda and visit with other lovers of West Texas. Great dinner at the 12 Gage restaurant...

If u are going to big bend national park a perfect place to stay. I was last here in 2011 and it hasn't changed. A bit funky and no tv but if u are in the vicinity go. There is a nice pool area to enjoy after a day in the park

We spent two nights at the Gage while visiting Big Bend National Park. Enjoyed the astroturf across the street that had outdoor chess and checkers and the pool. Ate at 12 gage for both nights for dinner because there were no other options open in Marathon on Sun and Monday night. Ordered off the bar menu the second night and...
