The Gage is an oasis of comfort in an area without much in the way of nice accommodation and good service. We had a suite with a king bed and and a day bed and both beds were really comfortable, with nice mattresses and linens. The bathroom is spacious and comes with two fluffy white robes. The service and atmosphere...

We arrived for our two night stay at the Gage to learn it was spring break week in Texas and this normally quiet, elegant, adult hotel was filled to the brim with families and a lot of energetic children. Our pre-paid room at the Shepard house seemed to house a large group of (noisy) families. I walked backed to the...

My husband and I and our 8 year old and 5 year old stayed here for two nights over spring break. We had the owners suite in the Los Portales section of the hotel and loved it. The room was comfortable with a small kitchenette area, outdoor patio, and front seating area outside. We ate dinner both nights at the...

Beautiful, peaceful, refreshing oasis! This historic hotel was just what we needed after a few days of hiking & camping in Big Bend. Beautiful rooms, gardens, courtyards, and pool. Our daughters loved the sand volleyball, horseshoes, life size chess/checkers across the street. Can't wait to come back!

We took a family trip to Big Bend National Park and stopped at the Gage Hotel! What a fantastic place! Rooms are very authentic and very clean! Staff was exceptional and very accommodating to us! With 4 grownups in our room, we needed more towels-no problem! In 2 minutes, we received more than we needed! So kind! The courtyard and...

This is a hotel with a lot of character and history - in a place where you would least expect it. I have been coming here for years, and every single time we stay here it get better. The rooms are first class, and decorated in a very eclectic West Texas fashion. The 12 Gage restaurant is next door, and...

A pricey but worthwhile experience in a tiny West Texas town. There are a few other places to stay in town, but if you're considering staying here there really isn't anything else for miles around in the same category. Historic, well-maintained building with manicured grounds (including the Gage Gardens across the street). Our experience was tainted due to an unexpected...

Beautiful, quaint, pricey hotel but with the most uncomfortable bed ever of all my travels both here in the USA and abroad. Mattress was so lumpy my husband and I could not find a comfortable spot in the bed and he can fall asleep anywhere. Also a humming noise all night which we could not determine its origin. The hotel...

Unexpected in Marathon Texas a quaint older hotel has stood the test of time. The Rooms were comfortable, the sheets were fabulous. A nice fireplace welcomed travelers in the lobby and a side room. Staff was accommodating and interactive making sure we were happy with this stay.

Really loved this hotel. The staff was very nice, the hotel was clean, and the town was perfect. They have an area to run in across the street at Gage Gardens. The room was very clean as well. This hotel takes a lot of pride in their history and for the town. Definitely recommend!
