Having stayed in one or two dire eco-lodges that felt as though deprivation, not ecology, was the focus, this was better than expected (i.e. feared)! The rooms are fine: comfortable beds, plentiful hot water from powerful showers, enough space to open up cases or backpacks, ceiling fans, windows from which to look out on the river or lake or wildlife...

The room was reminiscent of a rundown mom and pop motel. It was more comfortable after we killed the bee in the room, but it sure didn't impress. There was no TV or elevator and, amazingly, nowhere to plug in the alarm clock by the bed. The garden was nice with nature trails and next to a white deer reserve,...

We spent two nights here. Rooms are in lodges, good sized rooms but nowhere to store clothes, just a short clothes rail with a few hangers. Room and bathroom very clean, plenty of hot water for showers. No mattress protectors on the beds, just a strip of material across the middle of the bed - same thing as the Villa...

Villa Maya is an ecolodge on the shores of a beautiful lagoon. We stayed in the cabins facing the water. Each cabin had four rooms, two upper and two lower. Each room had a private balcony which was a quiet place for observation and contemplation. The rooms were spacious, clean and fit the ecolodge expectation. Beds and pillows were comfortable and...

My family and I stayed at the Villa Maya for three nights over New Year's Eve and had a great experience. The hotel staff was extremely nice and accommodating. The restaurant had a good variety of options and decent prices. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Overall, a good option near Tikal at a great price.

Nice big and clean rooms. Nicely decorated. Surrounded by rain forest, besides two laguns. Breakfast was however a disappointment. Has free wifi and a nice pool. Friendly staff. Bikes for free use available.

We actually went on this tour to see Tikal, a UNESCO World Heritage site, built about 700 B.C., by the Mayans. However, although TripAdvisor has a category called "Attractions", it won't allow some attractions to be written about by themselves. So this is about Tikal, an ancient Mayan city, the beautiful restaurant in the jungle in which we ate and the...

A simple, unique, clean place staffed by lovely people with beautiful smiles. The buildings fit in well with the landscape. The sunsets on the lake it overlooks are beautiful. The buffet meals in the open dining area are very good. The location is close to impressive Mayan ruins.

This hotel is located in a private protected area, full of animals, including deers, parrots and crocodiles. Great for animal spotting, or if you want to explore Peten's natural treasures. Our room was big enough and clean. service was great, the food was good and the view particularly pleasant. They have a nice swimming pool which can be used year...

We stayed here on Sagas secrets of the Maya tour. Rooms are basic with a jungle aspect. Priced minbar, no TV or wifi in room. Bathrooms adequate some showers open to the elements. The path to the cabins is dark, poorly lit and through the jungle bring a torch. Meals adequate, good breakfast and dinner ok, no where Seles near...
