My dad booked this place for us with his free points and it was great. It was a bit far out from the city but it was easy to go on the train. There was a restaurant and a bar and the drinks were pretty cheap for a hotel. There was a big shopping just down the road. We had 3 of us in one room and I got the sofa bed but it was pretty comfy.

Holiday Inn Express Madrid Leganes is a very convenient hotel, just at M50, a highway that surrounds Madrid which links a lot of highways from major cities from Spain. The hotel has good value for what you get. A surprise was the restaurant with a simple but very good menu. Rooms are spacious and quite. Good option

LOCATION & ATTRACTIONS NEARBY *** It is located in the Legantes area, approx. 23 km south from the centre of Madrid and approx. 35 km from the airport. Nearby there are some commercial buildings and also huge shopping centre (approx. 700 m).

HOTEL OVERVIEW *** This is quite new and good looking Holiday Inn Express. There is also secured parking (paid extra EUR 6,50/24h), but there is no issue to park your car outside. I really enjoyed my one night stay there.

PURPOSE OF THIS TRIP *** Leisure.

RESERVATION *** Booked through ihg.com website and using my IHG Rewards log-in which is the most efficient and easy way to book any HIE. Reservation was delivered to me by mail and also visible on my mobile application.

LENGTH OF MY STAY *** 1 night.

CHECK-IN *** It was quick and hassle-free. My key-card, welcome letter, Platinum card benefits and also Wi-Fi access details were prepared before my arrival and just handed to me. My Platinum status was recognized and I was also offered bonus points.

LOBBY & RECEPTION *** HIE-style, but very modern, bright and easy to look at. Reception was connected with a bar and restaurant/breakfast room.

ROOM *** As requested, higher floor (only 2 in this building, haha) room was given to me (#211). Room was clean and fresh. Welcome message was shown on the TV and also few minutes after my arrival I've got a call from reception is everything all right and up to my needs. That was nice and not intrusive. Room was equipped with a comfy double bed and also sofa (always covered with my shopping bags, haha). Lighting was good and curtains dark enough if you don't like early sun to wake you up.
There was no mini-bar in the room, but downstairs there are vending machines, ice-machine and also bar/basic restaurant.

BATHROOM *** It was the weakest part of the room, but it was OK. Some broken ceilings, a bit blocked sink and shower glass/curtain was not fitted correctly and some small unfinished touches, but everything was clean, which is the most important. I was not bothered at all. It was also very spacious. All-body gel and liquid soap dispensers are there. Other toiletries are available on request at reception.

BREAKFAST *** From 07.00 until 10.00 am. Standard HIE breakfast, but actually it was very tasty and I absolutely loved their coffee there.

RESTAURANT *** I went there to eat something in the evening and I had really nice and tasty meal. It wasn't anything fancy, but very affordable, big enough and tasty.

INTERNET ACCESS *** Complimentary for IHG Rewards members, easy to log-in, but connection wasn't consistent. During the night it disappeared and then came back later.

CHECK-OUT EXPERIENCE *** Professional, quick and hassle-free. My IHG Rewards points were allocated few days later.

STAFF *** Miriam at Reception - big thank you for your lovely smile and genuine welcome.

OVERVIEW *** If it's on your way - definitely go for it. Very good Holiday Inn Express!

The hotel is a great place to stay for a few nights and includes a very decent breakfast. Got a good 3 night deal with BA.com. It's a 25/30 minute trip to thr centre of Madrid city which will cost €7.40 return for two adults and a 15 min walk to Parque Polvornca railway station which takes you straight to Attocha to get city bus tour or you can take it to Sol which is in the busy tourist area. It's an hour from airport to the hotel. You take railway overground train from airport to Attocha on blue C1 then change at Attocha to get yellow C5 train to Parque Polvornca station where you come out on the left side and walk straight towards main road passing a big school then keep walking straight by the side of the motor way. The young lady at the desk Trini was very helpful and so were the other desk staff.

As the other reviewers have stated, this location is NOT in the central city. However, my husband and I liked that, as it's quiet. Very quiet, good sleep, and the hotel's restaurant has tasty food with a decent price. To get to Madrid takes a 20 min walk to the train station, and a convenient (and air conditioned) train into the city. The breakfast is enormous with various croissants and baked goods, all cereals, two cold cut meats, cheese, yogurts, a variety of juices and an extensive choice of coffees. The staff is great, especially the evening front desk woman from Portugal....she is very knowledgable and helped us greatly. I'd gladly stay here again.

Arrived mid afternoon after a 35 minute taxi ride and was checked in by the lovely Paloma. The hotel is situated on the edge of an industrial park just off the motorway and the station is a 15 minute walk away so access to the city is easy. Across the road and over the bridge is a HUGE shopping mall with loads of shops and a very very nice supermarket which is handy. The hotel itself is corporate and will be the same as any Holiday Inn across the world. There are vending machines and an ice machine in the lobby which is handy. They have a very small bar in this hotel yet the lobby area is huge. Our room was clean and the beds very very comfy. It would have been nice to be able to open the window properly but I suspect that's a health and safety thing. The local law inforcement pop in for coffee which is nice to see. There is one downside to this hotel and its only a minor critique and that is the breakfast. Its continental which is fine but one day we went down and the orange juice had run out and although staff came out from the kitchen a couple of times no one bothered to refill the chiller. The meat selection was disappointing, sandwich ham REALLY and some real butter not butter tasting packs would have been nice. There were also empty baskets where I assume there had been croissants or pain au chocolat that hadn't been restocked. There was only a small bowl of fresh fruit. Where the kids had been helping themselves to cereal from the little dispensers where they had liked pushing the button over and over again there was cereal all over the surface and that remained there,no attempt was made to clear it up. Lots of the guests were leaving their plates and cups etc on the tables so new guests coming in were moving them to other tables to make room. The general public are stupid, when they go on holiday they have a tendency to think well I paid to come here so why should I its someone elses job so in situations like that(hotel restaurant etc) there should be signage directing them to clean up after all there were tray racks visible. The staff were hesitant in clearing up which resulted in a couple of families having their breakfast at the end of the restaurant standing up as they didnt have a clear table to sit at nd they weren't about to clear the table..Apart from that niggle for what we paid everything was good. I would stay here again and would recommend the hotel to anyone and everyone going to Madrid.

This a very good 3 star hotel, very clean and modern, service was excellent, the rooms where cleaned everyday and had good facilities.
Breakfast had a good continental selection of breads, pastries, cold meats, cheese etc, We had dinner which was also very good. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
The hotel itself is a bit out of the way but the train service to leganes and Madrid are excellent and very cheap and there is are large shopping centre about 5 minutes walk away.
I would recommend this hotel.

I stay at this hotel during all of my business trips to Madrid. It is a clean and neat hotel with a friendly staff that speaks pretty good English. They serve a very Spanish breakfast and a nice variety for dinner. There are also several restaurants within 1.5km. They have secure parking. If you are not traveling with family I would recommend only staying Sunday thru Friday, because Friday and Saturday nights this hotel is popular with families that are going to the Warner Brothers Park that is nearby.

It seems we got low cost room although we paid the price for regular standard room. There was no normal window looking outside but directly to the concrete block of the hotel itself. In the bathroom you could see that the water was leaking from the floor above, the temperature water in the bathtube suddenly changed from hot to cold and opposite, receptionists not very kind, holes in bed sheets, very limited breakfast without eggs etc.
Good Wi-fi, possibility of parking on the street without extra costs and not far from high way

how to reach from Madrid Airport to Holiday inn Express Leganes Madrid
Answer from DireccionHIExpress
Leganes, Spain
the easiest and fastest way is by taxi, around 30 minutes ride and 50€ cost.
Answer from DireccionHIExpress

Dear Mr. AquaBreezeManagement, Firstly, thank for your reservation and your question. Secondly, The best way of transportation from the airport to get here is by taxi. It costs between 50-60€ one way. If this way is very expensive, You could take the "Cercanias" Train from the airport "T4" to Atocha and them, when you are in Atocha, you must change the line to take line "C5" bound Fuenlabrada-Humanes and get off in Parque Polvoranca. From Parque Polvoranca station to the hotel there is 1 km. It takes around 15-20 minutes on foot. Please, contact back if you have more questions. Thank you very much I look forward to hearing from you. Hotel Holiday Inn Express Madrid Leganes.
