Under new ownership in 2022, Chateau de Lassalle has transformed from a 4* hotel to a privately rented chateau, perfect for large gatherings, weddings or a relaxing holiday with family and friends. The estate, which is found nestled within a peaceful and idyllic eight hectares in the Gascon hills, offers up to fifteen unique and spacious bedrooms, all ensuite and with beautiful views of the property and tranquil rolling hillside. The chateau grounds are ideal for exploring, relaxing, and making the most of being outdoors. Hidden from view are steps leading to a sun-soaked terrace containing a spacious heated swimming pool, pool house, sun loungers, parasols, and tables for poolside relaxation. The grounds also contain a dovecote and a section of outbuildings that have been transformed into further accommodation and entertaining options. The old chai features a vaulted event space, perfect for cocktails and evening dancing. Opposite the chai is the covered dining area and professional kitchen which can accommodate groups up to 90 people. Despite its exclusive and private setting, Chateau de Lassalle is located just fifteen minutes from the Lot-et-Garonne's bustling capital city of Agen, and within minutes of all the necessary shops and amenities.

Detailed Reviews
From the moment you drive through the gates down the long slightly mystical wooded drive you know you are going somewhere special. At the end of the drive you are greeted by an almost medieval arched gate house flanked by beautiful stone buildings through which you get just a glimpse of what lies beyond.
The gate house opens into the most stunning huge Italianate lawned courtyard surrounded by massive ancient oaks and cedars and beautiful stone buildings and at the opposite end the grand imposing main building of the chateau itself.
Inside the chateau it just gets better, with gorgeous tall ceilinged reception rooms and bedrooms exquisitely furnished with antiques, creating an atmosphere of relaxed grandeur. Beds are to die for with many of the rooms opening onto the lovely vistas of the surrounding gardens and countryside beyond. This is a place of true peace and tranquillity. The new owners Christina and Sassan are the most welcoming hosts and their enthusiasm and open hearted generosity add to making Chateau de Lassalle a truly magical place.

We spent a week at Chateau de Lassalle in July 2022 and couldn’t speak more highly of it. The new owners, Sassan and Christina, have clearly spent a huge amount of time and effort preparing the Chateau for guests and couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating during our stay. The house itself feels very authentic, has a lot of space and is ideal for a large group. The outside spaces provided everything we were looking for, including an amazing terrace leading from the kitchen where we had the majority of our meals and a pool area that is ideally separated from the house and gated given that we had a lot of children in the group. We loved it so much we booked immediately again for next year!

Even if the price of the hotel was half what we paid it would not have been worth it.
Food in the restaurant was poor. Poor service for breakfast.
The bedroom was nice but the bathroom average.
The swimming pool had the octopus cleaning apparatus in it the whole time. We had to remove it to swim. A local french women who said she was not staying at the hotel was swimming in the pool and muttering to herself loudly for about an hour. I expect she goes there every day.

Response from cocodelaplume, Directeur général at Chateau de Lassalle
Responded 4 Aug 2014

The hotel is a beautiful building in a magnificent setting. Such a shame that the manager and staff didn't feel it necessary to be pleasant and friendly to our teenage children who were guests at a wedding. The overall impression was one of grumpiness and lack of professionalism.

Have stayed here many times over the past 9 years. A restored old manor home dating from the late 1800's serves as a bed and breakfast, and a converted/restored farm estate collective dating from the 1200's serves as a restaurant an small conference center. The chateau is situated close to the city Agen on a pleasant country road between the ancient villages of Moirax and Laplume. A beautiful place set in an active farm setting, 16 rooms each with a private bath, a center living area with an old fireplace, exposed beams and wall paper from the original home, even a pool that's open in the summer. Good WiFi as well. The chateau is managed by Cedric, been there for years, a very pleasant host and chief as well. It's the classical south of France experience!

Shabby chic country chateau that has probably seen better times but is the ideal base for a driving vacation to the many beautiful little village and towns nearby. Rooms are clean and serviceable, bathrooms decent, water hot, the grounds and pool charming, staff will pretty much take care of any needs.

The room was beautiful and classic with large French windows that open to the greenery. It had spacious, pristine modern bathrooms and the restaurant chef/manager is not only a great cook but he's very helpful and flexible with calling a taxi, and decorating and orchestrating an ad hoc outdoor lunch on the grass etc. it's a lovely French country home feel with restaurant amenities.

This was a gorgeous place, we went midweek in early June and it was very quiet and romantic- we had the whole place to ourselves. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and beautifully restored. The food in the restaurant was really excellent and the ambiance was just lovely.
I'm writing this review for any chain tea-drinkers who'd like to stay at the chateau to suggest to them to bring a travel kettle and a bottle of water. This is because at night after the restaurant closed, there was no possibility to get something to drink and it's quite remote.
However, I couldn't fault it for that, it was still a real find and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get away from it all and enjoy the French country life.

Some friends of ours had their wedding reception at the Chateau de Lassalle, so we stayed here for one night and wished we could have stayed for longer! The Chateau is not far from Agen, but the grounds were very peaceful and it seemed to be a lovely hideaway. I think there are 18 rooms (we were in number 4 on the 2nd floor) and evidently they are all well-decorated and "carefully appointed" with each one having a theme. Ours overlooked the beautiful countryside, and was comfortable, spacious and relaxing with a large bathroom with bath/shower. The staff at the Chateau de Lassalle were very pleasant and accommodating and we enjoyed all the food they prepared and presented (because we were there for the wedding, I am not sure what their standard dining options are but the food we had was definitely delicious - 3 types of local foie gras, excellent lamb, and an excellent breakfast the next morning).
I would definitely return to the Chateau de Lassalle for a relaxing break in the beautiful French countryside...I would just want to stay for more than a night next time!
