Hotel Best Cap Salou presents a mixed bag for visitors, with its location close to beaches and attractions being a highlight for many. However, guests have called out the hotel for its inconsistent cleanliness in rooms and the pool area. While the staff's friendliness has earned praise from some travelers, others have encountered less than helpful service. Despite appreciating the family-friendly amenities like pools and slides, reviewers warn about the extra charges and question the overall value. In terms of atmosphere, opinions vary but tend to lean towards the need for more engaging entertainment and ambiance improvements.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Best Cap Salou. Firstly, the location is brilliant. The hotel is situated right next to two small bays, one just a stones throw from the all inclusive bar and the bigger pool. The beach is beautiful and a great location to watch the sunset or to snorkel and view the fish. We enjoyed sitting around the main pool and found there were plenty of sunbeds and parasols available for guests. It was also relatively easy to get drinks from the bar. The daily aqua exercise class was excellent and the male and female staff who run the class are highly engaging and inspiring. The lady who serves hot snacks at the all inclusive bar should also be commended for her friendliness. The splashpark is great too. My 4 year old daughter loved the slides and the pirate ship. We found it very child friendly and great entertainment. The only disappointment was that all inclusive guests cannot access drinks or ice creams from the bar without paying. This meant we could not spend the whole day enjoying the splashpark like we wanted to. Overall, the quality of the restaurant food was excellent for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The fresh salad bar was well stocked and had a great variety. There was also a great variety of hot foods, desserts and breads. There were very little processed foods - everything was beautifully cooked and fresh. As a vegetarian who eats very little dairy, I found it very easy to eat well here. The rooms and amenities were simple but very clean and had everything we would need. The balconies are also a good size and the doors feel very secure. The only thing we would have wanted was a kettle in our room so we could enjoy tea on the balcony in the morning, but it wasn't a huge issue as we could get tea and coffee at breakfast. We would rate this hotel highly overall and would definitely visit again and recommend to others. The only suggestions we would have for improvement are that the pool PH levels are more regularly checked throughout the day, as by lunchtime they appear quite cloudy and begin to smell a little, and that there is a multi lingual children's club entertainer to help the foreign children to enjoy themselves and fit in better.

not my best choice of area or hotel my fault entirely only checked the size of hotel couple days before we left 500 rooms plus, senior moment!!! we mostly go for small hotels or self catering so big mistake. the staff were great especially gemma on reception all reception staff were really helpful and pleasant.all the staff worked very hard it's a big hotel hundreds of people to keep happy, great for families but a plus 80 couple no !!! i chose it because it was so near 2 very small lovely beaches a 2 min walk away the drawback 10 euros each for a beach bed another 10 for an umbrella not paid as much as that anywhere in the world. the room itself was fine good air con, good size, good walk in shower, the room location 1059 must be the worst in the hotel, balcony at eye level with the walk way to the water park busy all day no privacy at all people peering in throwing cigarette ends etc over .directly above a heat source hot air pumping over the balcony a lot of the time, very noisy refuse lorries daily collecting plus the smell from them not good, to be fair i should have requested a room change but with all the re packing that entails decided not to. now the good points the staff were great, the food was very good loads of choice and a great selection of everything and plenty of it. the beds were really comfortable, the water hot, and gemma managed to get our t.v. set up with 4-5 english channels, no we don't go on holiday to watch t.v. but we had four solid days and nights of persistant heavy rain so the t.v. was very welcome. the area outside the hotel was quiet not much going on some live music an irish singer in the pub opposite, no karaoke ,the noise in the hotel entertainment hall was deafening even after 10 pm any conversation was impossible. the bus stop is a walk up a very steep hill so with any mobility problems a no no. we took a taxi to tarragonna old town beautiful cathedral there well worth the trip .the young lady jet2 rep and andre were very helpful but jet 2 has no trips suitable there if you have any mobility or walking restrictions. the 5 days we got on the beach until the monsoon were lovely the swimming great , shame the weather got so bad as that will always affect the way you see a place, so i have tried to be honest yes a great hotel for families, but for oldies sorry to say not for us

Just home from this hotel and thought i would write a review to help others.

We booked this hotel not realising its in cap salou not salou central which is a 45 min walk to salou. Everytime we asked reception to call us a taxi they said it was busy we found if we started walking it was easier to flag a taxi down.

Cleaners came in everyday with fresh towels etc but the rooms were basic needs updating our bathroom sink was leaking but was fixed same day.

We went to the buffet on the first day and didnt go back it was so busy you couldnt get moved basically a free for all everyone pushing in grabbing food would not recommend anyone to go all inclusive.

The best part of the hotel is the childrens pool with slides our boys loved it there but i would not return to this hotel.

Has everything! This is in the perfect spot, facilities pool, dining, staff - All Fantastic! We were apprehensive we even phoned jet2 before we went because of the negative reviews but omg how clean and looked after the hotel is! Staff are working so hard, always cleaning and changing bins, cleaning the toilets and stairways, I really really don’t get what more everyone expects! There’s plenty of choice and fresh bread baked daily, the food is unreal! We were a family of 10 all different ages and tastes and we all enjoyed the meals! Pancakes and omelettes freshly cooked aswell, there’s theme nights for food most nights and it’s so good!
We only ate out twice to try the recommendations, once at house of illusion and once and Mex & Co (right next to the hotel) and both were dreamy! Recommend sooo much!
In the hotel there is also a lovely little spa room with a really nice jacuzzi, sauna and ice buckets, it’s €6 each and worth a look it’s fun for an afternoon.
No rush for sunbeds there’s loads of room and plenty of them 👏🏼
Rooms are lovely we had cleaners every single day, we stayed in room 1095 and it has a hugggeee balcony looking out onto the pool and beach. Rooms are absolutely fine, 2 double beds, a huge wardrobe, safe and great powerful shower also has a bath! Plenty of room in them! We left bits and bobs out including bit of money and jewellery nothing was missing!
The beautiful beach is right on the hotel and amazing, kids entertainment is every night and they do their best, the kids loved it! Raul who I assume is manager is so gracious always greets everyone with a smile and has opened a new restaurant downstairs next to the pool which is a little quieter and plays music in the background, same food and all inclusive but just a little change from the usual restaurant. The restaurant upstairs also has a terrace area that looks out onto the beach, we only noticed it on the third day and we are out there everyday it’s absolutely stunning.
There is soooo much choice in food drinks and desserts if you are coming to stay here don’t worry like we did we all 10 had the most amazing time here! Please go we are certainly coming back!

The pool facilities made this 2/5

The slides are fantastic can't fault them helped keep the children occupied.
Only fault is even if you're all inclusive you can't take your all inclusive drinks to the pool with all the slides these much be purchased.

Height requirement of 1.1 for the multi coloured slide

The reception is big and open and seems clean, unlike other reviews I had a really good experience with reception.

Room is very small for a family of 4 and there are alot of loud noises through the night at all hours.

Having young children the kids entertainment wasn't brilliant, a few day time activities at the kids club which was very limited, the inside pool is very dirty would avoid this.

The night time entertainment didn't start till 9pm and was a 30-35 minute of kids dance songs then it was over.

Food wasn't good and for someone who isn't a fussy eater I found the options limited, not expecting 5* at all inclusive but everything was greasy and just didn't looks cooked correctly also a limited amount of descriptions on what each food was.

It is roughly a 1 hour walk into Salou or a 13 euro taxi each way.

Over all this isn't the worst hotel I've stayed in I wish we went room only but after speaking to another guest room only guests have to pay for the slide water park...

Wouldn't stay again made some good memories but wouldn't recommend please trust the reviews

Being all inclusive the selection of drinks at the bar were great

Avoid this hotel! Staff are extremely rude especially to English they seemed very friendly with the Spanish! We stayed a week and our room got cleaned once in that whole week I was having to go down to reception daily to ask for new bedding and towels, cleaners shouted in our faces after just walking into our room when we weren’t dressed! Food was awful we ended up having to use uber eats all week for some food or go to the restaurant near by, not much of a selection of food and anything on there was just really not nice! The room was not clean when we first arrived all dusty and had loads of rubbish underneath the bed! On day of arrival staff were instantly rude we arrived at 12pm and they said come back at 2pm for your room didn’t tell us where we can leave our cases or where anything is for food or drink but the Spanish instantly knew where they could leave there cases we ended up having to ask our rep who then sorted it out for us but even our rep said they are very rude! The shops near by are really over priced. The Aircon did not work all week so we was having to sleep with the balcony door open, the balcony door did not lock at all! The bathroom door handle kept falling off so was having to rescrew it in multiple times a day, the curtain in the room was hanging off so couldn’t be used.

Was just ok. Personally, I wouldn't be back, unfortunately. I did read a lot of reviews before i got there, so I did have reservations

When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely lady who was very pleasant. She gave us all the information we needed, which was great. Got checked in and got to the rooms, which I thought were very small for a family, but we had to make do. Some of our items had fallen below us to the other balcony below. We could even see the items had been put in the balcony table so we had asked the reception staff if we could have them as we knew they were there. We were told to call back after dinner as the room manager would retrieve our items. Let's just say the items and just "disappeared" from the table below, and the staff didn't seem to care, so I never got our stuff back.

The Splash Park was great for the kids. The baby area didn't seem to be open when we had been there, which would have been ideal for my little one. The bar at the park, even though we were all inclusive, we had to pay for ice cream and ice cream, etc.

The main pool was very busy, but there were always plenty of loungers around. The all-inclusive drinks were local spirits and some cocktails. Premium drinks like Jack Daniels whisky were not included. Most of the staff here were very nice except for a male attender who ignored me standing waiting for about 10 minutes, smiled and went ahead and served other people that came after me. There was a small food bar to the side that served hamburgers' hotdogs and toasties. The lady doing service seems a bit rude and really didn't listen to what you asked for and just gave you anything.

The restaurant was just okay. There was something there for everyone. Same foods every evening. We did eat out most evenings due to the kids not liking the food much.

Unfortunately for me it was just basic. I don't think we will be back here.

Cleanliness of room 6/10
Food options 3/10
All inclusive drinks 6/10

Children’s pool was lovely, however the bar alongside the children’s pool only serve very limited drinks therefore you’re having to walk a fair distance to the other side of the hotel in order to have a cocktail.

Clean towels daily, bedding was not changed daily only made back up, floor was not swept daily and rubbish bags left on the balcony.

Staff don’t understand much English which can make it difficult when trying to ask questions.

It is not clearly stated what drinks and included within the all inclusive and what you have to pay for.

Childrens nighttime entertainment very minimal and quick.

Food options absolutely shocking!!!!! Ate out for 6 nights of our 7 night stay. Breakfast was minimal but made do, lunch we had from the snack bar which was toasties/burger/ hotdog and fries.

All in all, was an okay holiday, kids enjoyed the splash park however would not return, definitely not return all inclusive!

Very clean, friendly staff situated right by the beach, which was also clean loungers on the beach are charged for €10 !! We used towels . Only downside was dinner wasn't until 6.45, bit late for young children, and evening entertainment started for children at 9pm, adult's at 10pm. Buses into Salou were every 10 minutes or so, and so cheap. All in all, a lovely Holiday. Thank you Cap Salou

Hand on heart, we had the most amazing and enjoyable week in Best Cap Salou Hotel. I cannot fault the hotel in any way.
The food was fab, breakfast had everything from frys, fruit, pancakes, churros, cold meats, cheeses, breads etc. Lunch had salads, meats, chips, desserts-something for everyone. Then dinner, every night was a different theme. We didn't get one bad meal, the food was fantastic. Prawns, fish, mussels, chicken, lamb chops, pork chops, beef, freshly made pizzas by the chef in front of you, a chef on the grill cooking your burgers, chicken etc in front of you. A chef on a wok stand cooking stir fried meat and veg of your choice. A full pasta station and fab desserts.

The waitors then come to your table and you order your drinks. All so friendly and kind and work so hard.

The Entertainment is brilliant(see picture of daily activities) something on every hour then a nightly show inside on the stage.
There is a games room, pool table and table tennis.

The all inclusive is the best I've ever been too, snacks at the pool bar include popcorn, peanuts, olives, magnums, cornettos, slushies and crisps. Just ask at the bar and they will give you them.
Toasted sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs and chips- all made fresh in front of you.

There is also a Brasserie restaurant on the ground floor that is included in the all inclusive that is a steak and fish restaurant. You book this at the customer service desk. It is amazing. Highly recommend.

The Cocktails are so good and gins included in all inclusive are gordans, house gin, bombay sapphire etc, just ask for which one you want. Baileys is even included!!!!
The rooms are cleaned are evey day with fresh towels given every day and the rooms are left spotless.

There was live cooking and cocktail making beside the pool one of days which was brilliant, the nicest paella and sangria for everyone to try.

The water park is great and the main pool is good, a bit small but the kids loved it. Then the beach that has its own private entrance from the hotel is just beautiful, so safe and a lovely spot to go down to.

The staff are all so lovely and friendly, they work so hard. The management are brilliant, all new and are working so hardto make sure everyone has a great holiday. The kids club is a brilliant room and the entertainment staff are just perfect. Everyone works so hard, from reception, to bar staff, cleaning staff, life guards, entertainment staff, maintenance staff, restaurant staff and chefs, customer service desk, security staff, cleaners etc. The best hotel and we will be back

Thank you Best Cap Salou, the most perfect family holiday
