My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Riu Palace Maspalomas for a week's holiday in June 2023, it was our first time in Gran Canaria. The hotel was excellent and so were all the staff, in particular "Pablo" on reception he really looked after us and made our stay really special. We had paid extra for a room with a balcony and sea view. The room was really nice but our view was obstructed by a huge palm tree. We asked to be moved and Pablo sorted out a move to another room with a lovely sea view. He also helped with all our questions about the resort etc. The food was very good and the hotel was really quiet even though it was supposed to be full. Both pools are really nice. The hotel is also adults only which is ideal. We were a bit disappointed with Maspalomas and Gran Canaria and to be honest we prefer Tenerife.…

We have stayed at the Riu Palace Maspalomas a few times now but this is the first since the big renovation. We loved it before but now it is another level entirely! It’s like staying at a brand new hotel but with all the old charm of the old. The rooms have a wonderfully modern and fresh feel to them now and gone are the old 1980’s style rooms! Brand new bathrooms and tiling to an extremely high standard. Monsoon showers and very modern fittings. The new beds are supremely comfortable with a choice of pillows. Honestly the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time. Slept with the curtains open facing the sea with the moonlight reflecting. Just lovely! The pool areas have also had a makeover. Lovely sun beds, plenty of shade if you need it, comfortable cabana style beds too. The pools are a perfect temperature and so peaceful. An oasis without children or noise! The restaurants have also been refreshed and are a lovely space to enjoy meals. Great selection of food to a very high standard. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, as they always have been. We love this hotel - it ticks all the boxes. Perfect staff, food and amenities. Beautiful views. Great restaurant options - with perfect wine pairings. This is the only hotel I would consider in Gran Canaria

Not always comfortable with the TUI rating guide as have been disappointed many times but not this hotel. Loved everything about it. The refurb the staff the great buffet selection and the excellent a la carte dinner at El Oasis. Tapas rib eye steak excellent wine and great service not to mention the breathtaking views of the dunes. Superb ! Entertainment was hit and miss but the hits were definitely Dancing Queen and Madrid L' Havanna. Loved em! Staff know their stuff seem very happy and motivated which suggests the hotel is in good hands. Well done to the management team. Highly recommend this hotel and would love to go back.

We had a wonderful time, one week holiday. This is the first time since 2019 we decided to organise a holiday with friends. Had a great time, tho because I couldn’t walk very far, I struggled to get out and about. We have stayed a few times here and since the upgrade it is even better. We will be back.

Amazing hotel, fantastic food, best I have ever had at a hotel , terrific service , beautiful, great rooms , great views over the dunes. Located within 20 mins walk to Play de Ingles , also just a 5 min walk straight up the road to first roundabout and there are bars and restaurants. Supermarket across the road for prinks. For improvement, I felt the wine could be better quality, Vino Sol or Campo Viejo would taste better imo. No draft beer available in restaurant just small bottles of Dorado. The bar had Amstel and Paulander on draft which are not my favourite. In the room, it would be great to have coffee machines with free pods for coffee and milk. Instead of powder sachet and kettle. The evening entertainment had some good groups but one or two night they were not so great. But a fantastic hotel , I would highly recommend and deserves a 5 rating.…

Just back from a 7 day holiday with friends at this fabulous hotel. This was the 3rd time we’ve personally visited this hotel, that has been refurbished since our last trip. I cannot think of, hence write, any negative comments about the Riu Palace Maspalomas. We’ve stayed in it’s sister hotel in Melonares and this was every bit as good. All staff were extremely friendly, courteous and jovial - nothing was too much trouble in order to provide 100% satisfaction to the guests. We found there was no rush to put towels on sun beds as there were plenty, although as is the trend nowadays, some guests were up at the crack of dawn to “reserve” their usual spot. The selection of food for breakfast remained the same but there was a wide choice. Dinner was a buffet style also, with a wide selection, but the menu did change every night and we would challenge anyone who said they couldn’t find anything they liked on the menu. The rooms were spacious with very comfortable beds, a large walk in shower with dressing gowns for relaxation. Delighted to confirm the hotel matches the description in the brochure. We have stayed here many times and I really want to give it a 5 but for the reasons below it would be misleading. Good: Staff are wonderful Location’s great. Fixtures and fittings good quality. Lots of storage and good room safe. Very clean everywhere. Poor: Food choice and quality not as good as other Palace Hotels. Pillows awful - to be fair most hotel pillows are just too soft. Automatic light in bathroom wakes up partner in the room at night because of STUPID window into bathroom illuminating bedroom. Shower always seem to soak bathroom floor. Towels thin. Sun beds reserved with towels every morning although apparently this is NOT allowed? Smoke from other people smoking on their balconies always seems to come out way if we have the door open. Once again I must emphasise the staff are really fabulous.…
