Lovely hotel, if you like to be set back to the 20.th century. Hotel is outdated, even the staff are very nice and helpful. - I warn you - don't by the breakfast or half board - it's a disaster ! After one night, we ended up to go somewhere else for breakfast and dinner.. In Addition, I have to... More

We visited from 6th Nov 2016 for a week, we had originally booked a self catering apt somewhere else but our travel company messed the booking up so we got moved to rey Carlos and upgraded to half board. seeing some of the pictures and the mixed reviews we were a bit apprehensive about what things would be like, but... We were happy with the hotel last year so this year we came there again. Virtually nothing changed during this time so there is still plenty of room to improve. Old-fashioned keys, for example. It was sometimes difficult to manage a single key between three independent people. Also, the heavy iron chandelier met with our heads more than once in... More

Each room is like a little apartment and is quite nice if you like an old royal stile. We had a double room at the 5.th flour. This rooms are better for couples because have double beds and a living when you just want to look tv or drink something. They have also a kitchen, which we haven`t used, but... More

My husband and I stayed at the Rey Carlos from 27.8.16 to 11.09.16 When we arrived at 00.15am the reception were given are key and not much more information than that. We asked could we get a drink as it had been a long flight but were told no nothing was open. Our room as on the top floor. Very... More

We spend a week holiday at Rey Carlos with my boyfriend. When we arrived to the Hotel the receptionist been absolutely inactive. No welcome, no smile. I booked a double bedroom with swimming pool view, I got a twin with Street view. When I asked for a double bedroom they said the hotel have only twin rooms in standard category.... More

I once again visited Rey Carlos on a half board basis in May 2016 during the Pride Week. Hotel is actually right on the parade route. Once again, the hotel was welcoming and staff polite. The food selection is good and typical of the usual Mediterranean selection. Hot cooked breakfast selection included. Drinks included at breakfast but not with dinner.... More

I have passed the Rey Carlos many times, as I visit GC regularly, and have stayed in many hotels, but the gothic style of this one always intrigued me. Where other hotels have kept themselves fresh, and welcoming, Rey Carlos was completely the opposite. The hotel is dark, unwelcoming, noisey and extremely outdated. Badly maintained with unhappy staff. The furnishings... More

My wife and I spent a very enjoyable week on Gran Canaria at this hotel in March 2016 staying on a half board basis. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable.
