This hotel is an older model appeared to have been years since it was remodeled so lots of wear and tear from the rooms to the hallway. Staff was friendly though just would be better if the hotel was updated. Breakfast was pretty good. Hotel across from UT campus and close to the mall and restaurants so location was nice.
All levels of this stay were excellent. We were hear to check on my brother-in-law who was in the hospital. We thought we would only be here Monday night but we ended up staying until Friday. We were having an issue with having to change rooms (pack up our things and move) but La Wanda and Ty worked the rooms so that we didn’t have to move. They were very courteous and helpful during this hard time for us. I’ve also got to give a grateful thanks to Candy who took great care of us during the morning breakfast. She was such a nice lady.
There was roaches in my bathroom. I told staff but nothing was done to make me happy. I didn’t even stay after I seen you the roaches. I didn’t eat for fear of roaches in the kitchen. My stay was less than 5 hours long and no kind of credit was offered for another stay no refund . Roaches are unacceptable!!! I’ve never had an issue like this with Hampton before I have stayed multiple times with no issues however this time I was left highly disappointed, disgusted and itching from seeing ROACHES in my room !!!
Our stay started out bumpy the computer some how changed our reservation from king studio suite to a standard king room . There is a major difference in size! With this visit being for my husband to visit his kids ( who are all older boys) we like to play board games , cook in room and this was definitely not gonna be possible in the small room . It was very disappointing after a 13 hour drive . But after a little search Ruben was able to get us to a bigger room and our visit was wonderful. Great place to stay we will definitely be back . Only thing I would change is hotel needs a couple seats somewhere in the shade for smokers the pool area works sometimes but only opens at 10 and closes a 10 and there isn’t any shade for morning coffee and a smoke.
From reservation process to check in to quality of the room, the experience was exactly what I would expect from a Hampton - expert front desk personnel (Reuben in particular he was amazing and VERY helpful), clean and comfortable room, good breakfast available. Upon arrival, Reuben was so kind and helpful plus he made an extra effort to have my room ready a little earlier than normal check in. We were there for a graveside service for my wife's sister, and Reuben went above and beyond to make sure that we had a peaceful stay. He also very graciously printed up a number of programs for the ceremony at no charge to us. He was also familiar with my sister who was already staying there with her husband and kept checking to see if we needed anything. Hampton almost always meets or exceeds my expectations. The Hampton in Odessa, Texas on John Ben Sheppard Pkwy exceeded my expectations. A special shout out to Reuben for the expert and gracious help he extended to us while we were there.…
Meet by a very pleasant person at the front desk while checking in. The morning staff was just as pleasant. Breakfast selection was pretty good, eggs, bacon, cereal, oatmeal, waffles, toast and jelly.
Oh man, our bed had a new mattress that was WONDERFUL! The room was very clean and spacious enough for us. We have never stayed in Odessa before, and found the area to be filled with kind and polite people wherever we shopped or ate. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going through that area. Can't wait to go back!!
1. I checked in on the app & initially selected a first floor room due to medical needs however upon arrival, I received my room key at the front desk & was notified that my room assignment had been changed to a 2nd floor room. Why give me the option to select my room if Hampton is going to change it?! 2. Our room had absolutely no toiletries upon arrival. Not even hand soap. 3. I have a 1 year old child, within 2 minutes of arriving in the room my child had found a penny & a dime somewhere on the floor of room 225 & had both in his mouth. It’s a wonder he didn’t choke on one of them. 4. I opened the fridge a couple hours after check-in to put my child’s milk in it & was met with one of the most horrendous smells of my life… expired dairy products.I would think of all the things expected if housekeeping checking the fridge would rank fairly high towards the top. This is all UNACCEPTABLE. Make it right. Do better.…
The desk clerk had no mask, either at check in or in the morning. The furnishings were worn and obviously needed replacement. The shower head was not properly secured and wobbled around. At breakfast, the clerk was trying to do 3 different jobs, including handing out food (limited but understandable), refill the empty coffee, and deal with the desk. Generally I like Hamptons, not this time.
At check in, and the following night when arriving, the evening desk clerk did not have on a facemask. The coffee service in morning is directly by a large table where groups were gathering to eat and drink, so no way to keep 6 feet from anyone if you want to get coffee. I expected better from a Hilton chain. The beds were comfy and rooms clean and I've stayed here before.
