My wife noticed bloody sheets as she was putting our kids to sleep. Instead of offering us another room or sending someone they just gave me new sheets. It was late in the nigjt and impossible to find another hotel we had to stay. We are still waiting on a refund. $585 to stay one night in a room with bloody sheets.

Came here with a bunch of friends, got 6 rooms ranging from a suite to a single with a King bed. TP was so bad I had to steal some from the public bathroom at the park, it was like sandpaper. Bed spread was thin, but luckily I had a blanket stashed away in my car. Room was nice and cold, maybe a little too cold tho. Breakfast was non existent, specially if you get there 3 minutes after 9 not realizing the time and get barked at. Rooms were all pretty dusty, dust on the ceiling fan, dirty stained carpets upstairs, but tile downstairs. Night manager and a few employees were very delightful and apologetic, not so much the manager who seemed to be unhappy most the times I saw her. Had booked for July, cancelled as soon as we got home. At least we had a full sized fridge and a stove that we never actually used tho. If it were 42/night like someone else, I wouldn't even complain, but it wasn't. Oh and apparently unlike some hotels when you set the smoke alarm off and it sets off the whole hotel and alerts the fire dept, this one you can just easily disconnect like the girls in the room next to us did and continued to smoke all night.

We made a trip out to Portland Tx to visit family and stayed at Alisters. It was priced right at $42.00 a night and had a small kitchen. The room is quite large ( we stayed in a king) and homey. The bed was firm but comfortable for us. The water pressure was the better than my hotel in Portland so that was a bonus. We checked in extraordinarily late however, the manager was more than accommodating and understanding even though we had to wake him up very late. Tons of toiletries and literally had everything we needed. The only thing they could do better in our eyes is maybe get a heavier blanket we were freezing and the blanket was a thin sheet type cover. However, we would absolutely be staying here again!!!!!

Alister Square is in a perfect location for visitors to Port A. It's at the north end of the island and close to many restaurants, shops, and grocery store. They are doing a great job keeping the rooms and common areas as well as the office. The breakfast offering was perfect for a light meal. I've stayed here many times and have always enjoyed my stay.

Wow what a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! The Alister square inn has become the worst place to stay in Port A, our family rented two rooms this past weekend and the prices were high, the rooms were dirty, we were supposed to get into the rooms at 4:00pm but had to wait until 5:00pm and right off I used the kitchen faucet and the drain was plugged up, it had grapes and fish scales in it and there was blood on the counter top! How disgusting! The A/C gets cool but it doesn't blow enough air around so I asked about a fan to use and although they had box fans they wouldn't let us use one so we had to purchase one! Also there was all kind of crap under the beds and refrigerator, there was no breakfast as advertised and RUDE is the word for the staff. My family has stayed here for many years but this past visit ended all future stays!
