Pros: bed and bedding are very comfortable including the pillows. Towels are good quality. And there was a decent hotel gym which is the reason I chose this hotel in Sonora. Cons: the front desk person checking us in (Anita) did not wear a mask and even after a polite ask (since all patrons are required to plus it’s the right thing to do with all covid variants). She definitely told us that since she was so far away from us (across the desk where you have to sign and initial few papers so not that far) she didn’t need to. Really disappointed and management should clarify policy with their staff since the next day everyone else working on the hotel we saw was wearing a mask properly.
This is a 1960s style motel (which is great because you get to park next to your room) that has been nicely upgraded. The place is clean, the sheets are soft, the beds are very comfortable, the lobby and breakfast room are both bright and inviting. We interacted with the general manager, Mr. Patel, who was terrific. We encountered a plumbing problem in our room (just normal wear and tear) and had to be moved. We didn’t love our second room and had to move again. He couldn’t have been more patient and professional about it. The staff was also masked up, something that has been rare as we travel across the south and stay at Choice Hotels. My only complaint is that they could upgrade their coffee a notch. Given that this is the last thing most people experience with the hotel, it seems wise to leave them with a “good taste“ in their mouth!…
Near the interstate but quiet and somehow secluded, this motel has true charm - we were amazed and pleased at the attractive room with all needed items - plugins, soap, shampoo, good large refrigerator - the works! Thanks for keeping this place open and running on Covid Christmas!
I stayed at the facility last Thursday and Friday nights and it was fantastic. I was able to park my motorcycle ride in front of the room. Very clean and the bed helped me sleep comfortably. Heater and AC worked wonderfully as well. Really enjoyed having DIRECTV the room, lots of choices. Only downside was no hot breakfast due Covid...would have given 5 stars.
Booked a room via 3rd party website (hotels.com) and arrived at 1AM. This is a motel - doors open out to parking - and I requested a downstairs room of this 2 story motel. The front desk staff told me that since I booked 3rd party, I had to take a 2nd floor room although a 1st floor room was available. HUH? The room was fair. The "breakfast" the next morning was basically non-existent. 3 individually wrapped muffins, coffee, and cereal. Everything else was empty. There was a waffle maker - just nothing to go with it.
