The movie, that is...Picture the clubhouse, rustic but funky in a good way. I sat outside at the POOL one evening, taking advantage of the coolness brought on by the evening desert wind. The chimney swifts dipping in the pool, the sparrows arguing in the bushes, the jackrabbit darting through the parking lot, priceless!!. If you can bare to get...

As travellers from Australia we like to sample all the different things the United States has to offer. Staying at the Longhorn Ranch motel was one of these experiences. The proprietors were very welcoming and helpful. The motel is situated twelve miles north of Study Butte Terlingua where there are no chain motels and only the one gas station /...

Great people running this place, good value and really out in the middle of nowhere! Great for star gazing! Reservations and checkin is a little daunting as their system is all manual. All worked out in the end. Rooms were very clean and a hearty breakfast was included. Tivo is the cook and is great. We enjoyed a very good...

The motel and restaurant is a family operated business. The whole family is involved in making sure your stay is a good one. The rooms were not fancy, but perfect for a night's rest and a good breakfast. No need for fancy rooms in west Texas, since you're out exploring the parks anyways! One complaint was the water pressure -...

We had a pleasant 3 day stay at the Longhorn Ranch Motel. We arrived late in the evening and checking in was a bit overwhelming due to the owner being caught up with dinner at Tivo's (restaurant adjoint to and run by motel owners) and their reservations being on pen and paper. That quickly put us on vacation mode. The...

After reading some of the reviews, I was worried me might get there and not have a reservation. We called a few times before our trip and upon arriving everything was great! Our room wasn't quite ready so she went and cleaned it real quick and then came back to check us in. The room didn't have the fridge we...

Loved the entire experience from the owners to the wonderful meal. Would stay here again when in the area. Curbside appeal may be lacking, but everything else made up for this. Worth checking out and very clean.

This was our 3rd time staying at Longhorn Ranch Motel. It is a simple place with a great breakfast but we always seem to have an issue of some sorts each time. First, booking can be confusing. We always call and there is a slight language barrier as the owners are Spanish speaking. This time, we called 3 times leading...

Originally had been staying in an Alpine motel with a friend. We saw The Longhorn Ranch Motel as we were exploring down towards Terlingua and decided to spend a couple of nights with them. The room cost was a bit more than what we were paying in Alpine, but it was truly worth it! The room was very clean and...

If you're headed to Big Bend National Park this is a clean, quiet and comfortable place to stay. It is located south of Alpine, TX on Hwy 118. The rooms are extremely clean and have recently been updated, everything new, including memory foam mattresses, quality linens and towels (mini fridge and microwave on request). Maybe 15 - 20 minutes drive...
