We were meeting a group of friends in Lost Maples for the weekend. Booked two nights at a place in Leakey at the suggestion of a friend. After the first night, we knew we weren't doing a second. It was horrible. We were fortunate to find a vacancy at the Sabinal River Lodge and it was wonderful. The rooms are...

Lovely comfortable room, fully stocked kitchen, comfy beds, lovely balcony area and seating to watch the dozens of hummingbirds feeding. The view of the grounds down to the river was so serene, and at night it's a blanket of fireflies at sunset. The short walk down to the river is very nice, and to sit on a rock or cypress...

Utopia is a very small town down in a beautiful part of the Texas Hill Country so you don't have a lot of options when it comes to accommodations. My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights and found it fine. It was a little hard on both of us as all the rooms are up a...

The view of the river from the back of the property is beautiful. The rooms are spacious and have the "lodge"look and feel. It is great to have a kitchenette. The rooms are very clean. There are the piles of building materials and other junk laying all around. The curb appeal is disappointing with all the miscellaneous things piled around....

There are not many places to stay in the area. It was great to find nice and clean accommodations. The innkeepers are very friendly and great hosts too. Make reservations at The Laurel Tree for lunch or supper on Saturday too. Its a real treat! My daughter and I had a fabulous weekend hiking, staying at a nice place and...

Going from Houston, we weren't sure what to expect at the family run lodge. But seeing the kids/grandkids, there was a sense of relief. The rooms were clean. The water was hot. They have a mini-basketball court, but unfortunately we didn't take our basketball with us. The Sabinal river runs right behind the backyard and we had a nice time...

Great place to stay!. Nice roomy lodge. What I love the most about this place is the fact that the 4 units available are elevated. In other words on the 2nd floor. The bottom part or 1st floor is open to the outdoors and they have lounge chairs, barbeque pits etc., perfect area for enjoying the outdoors. Owners are very...

Great room, kitchenet , dining table, fridge, nice linens. Close to camp lonehollow. Owners live on site. The river is 50 feet out back and deer sleep outside the cabin. Not that you need a tv, but it could be larger or closer to the bed so you can actually see it.

Stayed in the Sabinal River Lodge for one night while we were visiting the Lost Maples and Garner State Park. The owners (Gary and Sandy Morris) live on the property and met us when we arrived. Their pride of ownership was obvious as they showed us to our room. They wanted us to see all the features in the room...
