We spent two nights at Abajo Haven and should have stayed longer. If you are looking for a unique, back to nature retreat that is different from your typical motel, then this is the place for you. We stayed in a cute, cozy cabin with our family of 5. At night, you can see the stars, while you sit around...

Abajo Haven is a cross between primitive camping and a hotel stay. By that, I mean that you’ll be out in the country, far from towns and major highways, but you’ll have a nice comfortable bed, heated cabin, and all the comforts of camping without pitching a tent, sleeping on the ground, or scrounging around in your pack for food....

After seeing the typical motor hotels available as accommodations in Blanding, this looked like a fun option to experience a more unique lodging opportunity during a recent trip to San Juan County, Utah. After staying at the Abajo Haven Guest Cabins, both my wife and I were very happy that we had done so. The owner, Bill, provided an accommodating...

We were very pleased with all that was offered by Abajo Haven. While this is almost a wildnerness experience, all the amenities you need for a simple stay are available. The cabins has 3 beds, a big one and 2 twins so there is plenty of room for sleeping comfortably. Bottled water is provided. The bathrooms are very modern and...

Our cabin #8 was beautiful and comfortable- perfect for my wife and I and our son and daughter.. The setting is magnificent and we ended our day with a campfire under a sky lit up with billions of stars. Does it get any better than this? Bill is the perfect host and despite the rustic feel of the accomodations the...

My friend and I were thoroughly delighted to find this wonderful place to stay along our travels!!!!! Our cabin, cute separate bathroom, home-cooked meals, and peaceful surrounding made for a perfect time! The owners have everything in the cabin you'd need with personal touches you will really enjoy. My only wish is that we could have stayed longer!

We stayed at Abajo while visiting Monument Valley and a few of the closer sites around Blanding. We were looking forward to a unique experience and we weren't disappointed. The location is a few miles out of town, enhancing the experience of "getting away". Our cabin was clean, comfortable, and roomy. Our restroom was in a separate building next to...

If you are a city slicker, be prepared for an excellent adventure! This is a cabin style lodging so it's definitely not your typical hotel! The owner (Bill) will guide you to your cabin at night. He will also give a flashlight and a heater. The Cabins themselves are small but cozy and the one we stayed at was big...

We had won a stay at this ranch at a raffle the previous year, and we came back to the area this spring we arranged for our free night. I had printed out the directions to the ranch from the place’s website, as the ranch is 6 miles roughly north of the town of Blanding. The directions were spot on,...

We found Abajo Haven Guest Cabins as an alternative to a normal hotel in Blanding. The setting is great, in a canyon north of Blanding. It is a bit of a drive, so do any shopping before you leave Blanding and fill your water bottles. The cabin was small but nice. The owner is very friendly, showing us our cabin and...

Thank you for your nice review. To correct one of your comments, we do have running water(hot and cold) in the restrooms. Your restroom is your private restroom with your cabin and all the cabins are supplied with bottled water for the guest. Abajo Haven is set up to be an outdoor/ nature adventure. We have deer, turkeys, elk and...

“Although not announced, Bill did mention he could provide us free wifi service. However, when you are in a place as peaceful and serene as this, who wants to be electronically connected???”

“There are three cabins, one divided into two units for a total of four units. They vary a bit in size and beds. We had two separate cabins. Both had a big bed for couples plus either one or two single kid beds. One was closer to the shared, detached bathroom. The only noise would come from fellow guests as the cabins are not near anything except Bill's house.”
