I am sure that there are more than one nice place to stay in the Escalante area. Most often they are booked early and solid. We managed to book La Luz at last minute due to a cancellation. You can see from their web page photos the quality of the place. Clean, spacious, quiet, extremely well appointed for its price,...

Thank you for your generous review. It was a pleasure to have you stay at La Luz.

The house was wonderful and the setting quiet. Kitchen well equipped and the owners allowed us into thier vegetable garden to pick herbs and New Zeland spinach. They were also helpful without being in your way and a wealth of information on where to hike.

We're still within Escalante town limits yet on the edge and hear the coyotes in the wee hours in the morning. So much to do, so little time.

Excellent. As advertised, completely. Comes fully equipped with more than you'll need for a vacation in this house. The smaller house is also very good. We had a tour of it. In this larger house, the patio is lovely, sheltered from the wind, nice place for coffee then cocktails in the evening. Comfortable bed, helpful hosts, great location close to...

We chose Escalante as a base to see Bryce, Zion, Capitol Reef and Kodachrome. La Luz was perfect. Ricki and Sandy were wonderful and very helpful! Ricki's insight into local , "off the beaten path" attractions were spot on. We followed his advice were were very thankful for his expertise and directions! The house was lovely and the view from...

My husband and I and some friends stayed at the La Luz in April of 2015. I already seen pics of the house but it exceeded our expectations. As stated in the previous reviews the house has a wonderful feel and flow. The kitchen is fabulous and the house is thoughtfully put together to meet any needs you might have....

This is a terrific home, in a perfect location on the edge of Escalante proper, owned by two really wonderful and helpful owners. You've never seen nor likely stayed in such beauty, inside and out. La Luz, one of three rentals Ricki and Sandy own, is a home they first built for themselves then downsized right next to it with...

The outside look is quite distinctive in color and shape. Locals call it the shoebox. The inside is beautifully designed and comfortable. All the comforts of home plus a spectacular view from the living room. I would definitely stay again when in the area.

We used this as a base for exploring Escalante and it was a dream vacation. First the house is very unusual and the design and craftsmanship are much better than the typical rental or certainly any hotel. This is no cookie cutter holiday rental. The cabinets are more like fine furniture, every detail is well thought out and executed. We...

The owners of the home are very helpful but unobtrusive. The beds are comfortable, the layout good for two couples or a family of four. There are laundry facilities in the garage along with a nice barbeque. The only drawback is there is only one shower even though there are two bathrooms. It's a very nice solar home with lots...

This fresh new home is thoughtfully designed and decorated for both comfort and beauty, with lots of nice touches. While it's conveniently located right in town, La Luz looks out onto mountains, not other houses. It was quiet, peaceful, and offered everything we wanted after a day of exploring the natural wonders of the area. The owners were knowledgeable, hospitable...
