We were initially planning on driving through Hanksville, and spending the night camping in Capitol Reef, but our 7 week old daughter had other plans for us. She let us know that she needed a break from the tent, and left us with no other options than Hanksville. The other motels in town looked flat out scary at night, and...

I am very impressed with this particular Hotel. Very clean and comfortable and staffed with friendly people with a high level of commitment and integrity. It is my pleasure to stay with them as I work in the area for up to 10 days at a time and feel I am well taken care of and appreciated. The other motels...

We stopped in this hotel on our trip between Lake Powell and Capitol Reef National Park. We were positively impressed by the size of the rooms, furniture that was pretty new, nice flat TVs, clean carpets and none of the things that typically annoy you in small road side hotels north-east. The owners definitely invest in hotel and want their...

We have stayed at The Whispering Sands Motel three times in the past couple of years. It is always clean. They don't allow pets--which we like. They also don't allow smoking in the rooms--which we like. I highly recommend this.

This is in the middle of nowhere and you don't have many choices but it was a very pleasant stay. Nothing fancy but they tried to put little homey touches in the rooms. Loved the cut out lamps. Hanksville is dusty and I was surprised how clean they kept the insides of the rooms. The beds were comfortable and free...

We were touring the many national parks and had stayed in many motels. Whispering sands is a hidden gem, and the best we stayed in. Would definitely recommend this place as it is very clean, the staff are friendly and helpful and it is excellent value for money.

On a trip to view southern Utah, we chose a queen cabin at Whispering Sands Motel on the southeast approach to Hanksville, Utah. Great little place, off the beaten path, very quiet & clean, good cell service. Centrally located at intersection of UT24 & 95 between Arches and Canyonlands National Parks to northeast, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area to southeast...

We were travelling the Goblin Valley and Capital Reefs area so this is a good location. Motel is close to 2 burger joints and one restaurant. There is also gas and cell service, which is hard to find in this area. Motel units are clean and modern. We had two rooms on the first floor in the main building. Both...
