We are Hilton Honors members so I was prompted to choose a room and check in ahead of our arrival. However, the hotel gave our room away when we arrived and gave us the one and only last room available on the 2nd floor! This seems to happen often with Hilton every time I check in ahead of my arrival. Why bother offer this service if the hotel can't make good on it? Also the hotel was having technical issues so we couldn't get keys to our room or wifi. It was a very rocky start to our short weekend trip to ski! By the time we got keys/wifi it was 1am! Had to get up at 7am to plan to get to a ski resort on time to get parking and ski. Room also had a fowl smell and the thermostat never seems to work. Room was excessively hot! Literally had to leave the AC on just to cool it off. Normally I like staying at Hiltons for all the perks but this hotel was very disappointing! There is a Marriott Residence Inn nearby so will probably consider this hotel next time we visit the area.

Thank you for your review and for staying with us. It sounds as though things definitely could have gone smoother during your visit. I've shared your notes with the supervisors at the hotel. We'll also check the condition of the A/C_Heater system, too. We trust you had a fabulous time at the resorts. We are really having a phenominal winter here.

My son was married July. 4th and we needed rooms to accommodate a large group of family and friends. I think our party took up the entire 3 rd floor. We had a room with a nice view. It was very clean, quiet and comfortable the entire 6 days that my husband and I were there. We enjoyed a buffet style breakfast daily. The staff was extremely kind, caring and helpful. They went out of their way to make our entire group happy and comfortable.

I am a little torn on the rating. I was here for a ski week. To go skiing at Brighton or Solitude all you had to do is walk straight out the front door about 50' and walk down a ramp to catch the UTA bus to those ski areas. Somehow the friendly front desk gave the worst possible directions on how to reach the bus stop and about 4 days later I heard them give the same poor directions to someone else. It was as if they had never walked to the bus stop. This year the Alta/Snowbird bus route that used to pass the hotel was discontinued. I was also given poor directions to a restaurant that was just down the hill on the same street as the hotel is on. The room was quite nice with a modern design, but lights were almost non-existent. There was a bathroom light and a light in the short hallway right inside the front door. There were two lights above the nightstand and a light on the desk, but it had maybe a 5-watt bulb in it that gave off disgusting yellow light. There was a microwave and refrigerator. The hot tub in the fitness area was small, but hot. There were lots of breakfast choices although the eggs were subpar. I must mention that the door to the bathroom and closet was a barn door that either covered the bathroom or the closet, but not both. The fan in the bathroom was not designed to be turned off so it ran continuously. At night I had the barn door positioned to close off the bathroom so I wouldn't hear the fan. It turns out all the rooms had the same fan issue. Room service was on-demand only and I was also originally given the worst room ever. The window was looking right into the hillside that was about 10 feet away so there was little natural light. Of course, that didn't fly with me although I had to convince them to give me another room. Actually, they claimed there were no other rooms available, but since I knew I was the first one in my group to arrive I suggested they give someone else in my group that room. That idea worked. I never heard my neighbors, but I certainly heard the people above me. It sounded like they were walking around with ski boots on. I am not sure why this was happening given the building was constructed fairly recently, but others in my group had the same comment about people above them. Restaurant choices within walking distance are extremely limited. "Bout Time Pub & Grub...skip it, poor service. Bandits Bar & Grill....good. Others...Mint, Market Street Grill, Happy Sumo, Elixir Lounge, a sandwich shop, and a coffee shop.

Thank you for your review of our property! We're so happy to have your group stay with us. It sounds like we might need to arrange a field trip for our FD staff - perhaps an excursion to the bus stop! ;-) Just kidding. I always advise our guests to follow the painted walkway across the parking lot and it takes you right to the bus stop. We hope you and your group (and especially the bus service to Alta and Snowbird) will return again next year. Enjoy the spring!

Everything was perfect - clean, friendly, comfortable. The food was just ok but there were lots of options. Most importantly the bed was so comfortable. The view next to the mountain was spectacular. The location was perfect too.

This was a very noisy hotel. Then someone was trying to open my door at 2AM! I didn’t feel safe at this hotel! I have mobility issues and was alone. Difficult to sleep. The people next to me where my bed was blared the music so loud the wall was vibrating. The staff however where very polite, professional and always courteous.

The hotel is in a very good location and easy to get too. Rooms are large and light. The staff is great, and the place is very clean. I felt the cost was a little high and found daily taxes on my bill I did not like at all. When you budget for business trips this is not okay. We used the hotel to save on gas instead of travelling 100 miles a day to a project. This is here nor there, but a lesson learned. if they brought the costs down, they would fill that hotel. High short-term gains hurt and low long-term gains lead to longevity.

Thank you for your review. We appreciate you taking the time. Taxes, unfortunately, need to be collected, and like all hotels in the U.S. they are added to the room rate. We do pride ourselves in offering great value for the monies paid, with free parking, a great breakfast, free WiFi, and no resort, maid, energy surcharges or other 'junk' fees. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Thank you!

We stayed at the Hampton Inn Salt Lake City Cotton wood for 2 nights for my nephews’s wedding. Our room could not be better and the front desk was very helpful when I needed something. There were so many choices for breakfast and cold water, coffee, and hot water for tea and hot chocolate were provided in the lobby/breakfast area. This was the second Hampton Inn we’ve stayed in and it was more modern. If we are in the area again, we will definitely come back.

We had an amazing stay at this Hampton Inn property. Idalia is a huge asset to this hotel! She is overly friendly, attentive, helpful, and accommodating - she went above and beyond. The property has a storage area to store skis and equipment over night - hard to find, most of the time you have to take your equipment to your room each night. The room and common space was extremely clean and big - very impressive. A very well maintained and managed property. The shuttle stop to the ski resorts is so conveniently out front of the hotel and runs frequently. The pool area is very clean and spacious. We had a great, convenient, relaxing stay at this property!

Cool! It's funny that we're reading your note in July, where it's 98 degrees F, but, winter will be back soon! Yes, skiers and riders love our accessibility to the slopes. The bus stop for the ski bus is so convenient. See you again soon.

Flew in from out of town for a meeting and I was completely impressed with this hotel! The entire front desk went above and beyond making me feel welcome by making sure I had what I needed, putting me on a high floor and getting me a sweet snack after my long travels when I arrived late the first night! My room was immaculate and smelled so nice and clean. It was quite and I fell right to sleep, woke up refreshed for my meeting. I swear I need that bed at my house!! Slept soooo good!!! Breakfast guy was super nice! Everyone in the halls said hello! Even in the elevator I had a conversation with one on the staff members. I’ve just never stayed at a hotel where I felt like I was famous or something. It was like everyone knew me. Just incredible!! I will ALWAYS stay here!
