Clean sheets and towels, friendly owner and close to restaurant and 7-eleven convenience store. Quiet comfortable place to stay. No television which is just fine by me. The Mexican Hat Rock formation is just up the road a few miles if your on your way to The Four Corners or maybe Ship Rock, NM? You park right in front of...

I wasn't expecting anything more than a place to sleep, so I was satisfied. However, it was slightly less accommodating than most similar places (independent no-frills) that I stayed at on a recent trip. Pros--charming host. Terrific location. Quiet, comfortable room. New carpet. Comfortable bed. Excellent A/C. Less than $50 in Monument Valley! Cons--no fridge, no microwave, no phone, no...

Amenities- Bed, Door, Roof, Towels, Shower( but with no showerhead, just a pipe)Heater and the ability to park in front of the door, which made arranging and loading luggage easy. It reminds me of some low cost rooms in Thailand and Mexico. I found the front desk person nice and helpful and willing to let me park my car there...

We had booked this motel in advance and the owner had told us that it was a very basic place. So we had a good idea of what to expect. However, for one night it was fine. It was clean, with no funny smells, and the bed was comfortable. There is no TV, no phone, no internet, no fridges, no...

This was our second time at this motel and we even had the exact same room. The lady who runs the place is very nice and accommodating. The room may be basic and small but what more do you need. I had the best sleep of my entire trip here. And the location is unbeatable - right down the road...

This isn't the place to go with your wife or girlfriend. It's not that anything is broken. In fact the sink, bathroom mirror, and window curtain looked pretty new in my room. Nor is anything particularly dirty. It's just that everything is the cheapest grade that could be obtained from Home Depot or equivalent and then not very elegantly installed....

I had been at Monument Valley and was looking for an inexpensive place to stay. I found Mexican Hat by accident and stopped by this motel. Although the town was busy they had rooms for far less than any other place. Parking was right in front of my room which I appreciate. It is old and very dated with no...

It is simple, but very clean place. Very close to Monument Valley. One thing to be careful about is relying on GPS to find it. I was driving at night time, and it was impossible to see around further than the lights of my own car. The exact location of the Mexican Hat is actually about 20 miles norther than...

I stayed at this motel for two nights during a recent road trip in the desert southwest. It was a good mid-point for visiting both Monument Valley and Canyon de Chelly. This is definitely a no-frills place. No TV, no fridge, no microwave, no coffee maker. It's right next to the only gas station around, and there are a few...

This motel has seen better days but we talked to the friendly owner and looked at the room and stayed. It is spartan but clean, quiet, cheap ($45 for 2) and has a fantastic location in the midst of a few other hotels that charge exorbitant rates to tourists looking for upscale accommodations in a tiny town far from anywhere....

“We were in room 9 and it was nice bearing in mind it's a bed, small table with 2 chairs and a bathroom.”

“Ask to see a room first so you know exactly what this is, especially if you are unsure that you can economize and stay in a very modest motel. No hair dryer or shampoo in our room but plenty of towels.”
