SETTING: This facility is located in Monument Valley. There are some beautiful mountains around the RV park. I really enjoyed seeing the nearby monuments and driving my 4-wheel drive vehicle on the (free) 17-mile loop through them (including ever-present tables at all stopping points--where the locals try to sell you jewelry, etc.). Monument Valley is a must see area in...

Goulding's campground management and staff wants to thank this guest for their honest comments regarding their camping experience at our historic property. Since the early 1980s, Goulding's Lodge has been owned by a family with a long, American Southwestern history. This family began like the Gouldings did, as Navajo traders, near Gallup, New Mexico, which led to building a lodging...

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a tour round the states - As with all rooms in the hotel we looked out onto Monument Valley - The views at sunrise and sunset were outstanding. The room itself, while not huge, was big enough for a family of 3. beds were comfortable offering a good nights sleep. The on...

Goulding's Lodge management and staff is so pleased to hear that this guest enjoyed their stay with us at our historic property. The Goulding's All Day tour with barbecue hamburger lunch definitely gives the visitor the opportunity to experience all of the Navajo culture, mystery and wonder of this magnificent area. Thank you for your comments.

If visiting Monument Valley then a stay at Goulding's Lodge is a must. Very historic as this is the lodge where John Wayne et al stayed when filming the Westerns. Lodge is a little on the basic side but the location and views more than compensate. There is a supermarket on site for the campground so we just bought stuff...

Goulding's Lodge management and staff is so pleased to hear that this guest enjoyed their stay with us at our historic property. It sounds like this guest stayed in the Apartment unit that is located directly above the motel office. This unit has a full kitchen, with one bedroom, and a large private balcony with a terrific Monument Valley view....

Sites: Mostly pull thrus. Sites are tiered up a slope, with railroad ties separating sites. Decent amount of space between sites. Sites are gravel with a firepit at some and a picnic table. Many also have a small shade tree. Hook ups: FHU (50amp), also no hookup tent camping. Bathrooms: Didn't check, but they close during summer at 7pm and...

Goulding's campground management and staff wants to thank this guest for their wonderful and detailed comments regarding their stay at our historic campground. We also want to express our gratitude that you found it in your heart to adopt one of the stray dogs and to provide a positive future for the animal. It has been a goal of the...

I stayed here for one night (not long enough!) as part of a tour. We all had rooms in the upper level with fantastic views of Monument Valley. The whole group were out on their balconies to watch the changing colours as the sun went down. I loved my room, not huge but beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The bed...

This motel was relatively expensive, no doubt because of its position: second nearest to Monument Valley. That was no excuse for such complacency. The room we had was very basic with a tiny bathroom. The most frustrating thing was that, having advertised free wifi, we we're told that the wifi only worked in the hotel lobby! When you're touring, you...

Goulding's Lodge management and staff is sorry to hear that this guest suffered some technical difficulties with the wifi services. Being located is such an extremely rural area definitely gives our historic property it's share of technological challenges. Your comments will help our staff to better serve future Monument Valley guests. Thank you for your comments.

A handy "little town" in the middle of gorgeous nowhere! The lodge had attractive rooms with balcony views. They are a bit pricey, but worth it since there are only 2 places to stay in the iconic valley. The restaurant has a nice view, and food, service, and price were OK. (loved the Navajo fry bread served hot and fresh)...

This place has amazing views over Monument Valley. The restaraunt's not bad either. Also it has a really good museum out the back (the original homestead of Mr & Mrs Goulding) everything's preserved giving you real feel of life in those times. Also there's lots of cinema memorabilia (this is where most of the old westerns were shot).

Goulding's Lodge management and staff is so pleased to hear that this guest enjoyed their stay at our historic property. Established in the 1920s as a Navajo Trading Post, now home to the museum, Goulding's Trading Post and Lodge brings the visitor back to the true Monument Valley past. Thank you for your comments.

Stayed 2 nights. Very quiet & an ideal location for the monument valley without the cost of staying inside the park. I am sure we had more fun in these lodges rather than the new expensive hotel inside the park. The lodge had Gouldings old trading post in the grounds. The hotel portion of this complex has a GREAT VIEW! And for movie buffs, in the Trading Post museum, there is a history of the old-timey-westerns that were filmed on the property and nearby. The dining room and gift shop are top rate!
